Its a next generation console. Thats all that really needs to be said. Nonstop-MadnessYep, I'm gettin one literally just because.
wiiu for 300 bucks? i wouldnt be surprized it they started that way but then pricing droppign it to 250 (kinda like a quick price drop like 3ds did). If so, the marginal gain for 50 bucks in many consumers minds would be justified..as in paying 50 bucks more for a 'new generation' percieved console. You can debate if wii u is a nextgen or not all you want, but a new product in the eyes of consumers will be a big 'pro'. So i think itll month by month outsell the xbox if its marketed right and if its only 250. If its 300 bucks...fans will buy it, and the general consumer population will hold off. This isnt to bad mouth the 360 (or ps3 or anything else)..its doing fantastic, its just nintendo products generally try to target and attract a specific demographic of a market (in which the demographic is actually quite large ie. families, children..most of the population is individuals under age 18). Its like apple, its initial demographic was hip, young, modern, elegant people (rather than businesses you used the old windows mobile and RIM services), however the demographic apple targets is quite large and it makes large sales, much like nintendo. Both ways, i consider a wii a supplement console. 'Gamers' will always get the powerhouse, however they may own a wii as well for their children or for games to reminese when they were younger (mario, zelda, etc.)..
time will tell.
The same way the $400 Xbox 360 competed with the $129 PS2, and the $99 Gamecube

well it better be a bigger jump than 1080p graphics on ports.
By holiday season it'll be $149.99, 250gb model, I'm callin it.Spartan070
even so if they go that low, im thinking wiiu sales wouldnt be so hot. MS waits it out and then delivers real next gen console. Wiiu was announced last E3 im thinking the specs arent going to be nearly as good as PS4 or next gen xbox.

That doesn't matter anymore and whatever games the future HD twins get the WiiU will get.Third party devs won't have to sacrifice a lot toport their games to the WiiU.

Hahahahaha. You said "MS" and "real next gen console" in the same sentence without including "will not release", "will be far from having a" etc...[QUOTE="super600"]
I don't think a lot of people would enjoy using the 4GB version of the 360.
ForzaGearsFace
ok then
From my experience with that console to get the full experience with the console you need a 250GB harddrive or a 320GB harddrive unless you just want to play kinect games or controller games.

well there are alot of gamers that like the 4g, but im sure prices will come down and be very competitive, I dont understand WIIU, i think its released way too early, PS4 and Xbox Next will trample wiiu in tech. I respect Nintendo, but I just feel bad decision by them with WiiU

What's the use of the WiiU being trampled in power if it can still run any next gen game ported to it most likely.

OK, no troll here: You shouldn't feel sorry for them because the Wii U will still be the exclusive home to Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon etc. etc. Nintendo has such a huge list of beloved characters and franchises that people will buy the system regardless of specs. On to the troll: If you honestly cared about specs, you would have been gaming on PC anyway.

I have a PC Gamer rig, but again devs are more geared to the console market and when it comes out with super specs im sure they will be pushing that hardware to its limits. PC gaming to me is good in addition too, Im a big Kinect guy, tech guy, like the 360 accessibility etc.
Wii U will do well, there's alot of 1st's coming with this next gen Nintendo like: finally a robust online system "Nintendo Network", tablet based controller, Nintendo franchises finally going to be in HD and a return to some 3rd party glory.
We'll have to see about the specs and on E3 we should finally know if the recent rumors are true for both Nintendo and MS. Price point will also be a big deal as 299.99 imo would be a fantastic price (we'll see). Basically all the "new" and right marketing/specs and price point would definitely be enough to sell well.
Pure speculation
I really dont think the Wii U will be a problem. Its the Wii...with a U at the end. Its not going to be some hardcore box. People are just hyping it up, it will release and be another Wii that no one in these forums care about in the end. I highly doubt the casual market will go as crazy for the Wii U as they did for the Wii. Most of the people I know (casuals) that bought the Wii have already disconnected it or sold it. I sold mine a year ago and before that it was unplayed for a year.

I don't see how the casual market and Super Smash Bros go together. Mostly hardcore Nintendo fans play SSB

There is nothing "hardcore" about SSB. And last time I checked, "hardcore" games never sold over 10 million copies on one console alone.

People will buy it for the new gimmick, will probably reach 100.000.00 sales this time
Casual gamers care for the gimmick, nothing else, which means they will buy WiiU no matter what
Personally i will wait this time for a huge price drop before i get the next WiiU, WIi was a huge dissapointment in every way, i only have 3 games for it, it is laughable

LOL. Halo is about as "hardcore" as COD. :P
Nothing wrong with a game being casual-friendly though. I'd prefer a fun casual game over a "hardcore" game any day.
