I think (Nintendo Revolution) which was the Wii's codename would be a great new name for it. They also need to include some actual hard drives into, making people buy external ones is stupid.

Kill off the tablet. Kill off the lower SKU. Relaunch at $250 / £175 with Pro controller and Mario 64 2 packed in.

Oh, they'll be coming. DKCR sold too well to not have a sequel and Kirby's Adventure Wii/Return to Dreamland did well too (especially in Japan).

[QUOTE="TheWalkingGhost"][QUOTE="nintendoboy16"]Considering Nintendo wasn't financially struggling with the GameCube the way SEGA was with CD/32X/Saturn/Dreamcast, I doubt it. That being said, they NEEDED some sort of sales winning success though.Kaszilla
If the Wii had failed, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo dropped out of the race. I don't think they could have survived two straight GC performances.

The DS woulda saved them.

How would the DS have saved their home console? The company yes, the home console no. Financially sound companies drop out of things all the time when they doubt there is profit.

Games. It's main problem is that it has no games. Good games, bad games, mediocre games, it has very little of any kind of actual game.

If the tablet is the attraction that WiiU zealots say it is; then why is it selling slower than GameCube? Nintendo tried to cash in on the tablet trend (that has wormed its way into vehicle dashboards and television remotes) and hoped that it would stir great interest from the mainstream, but the mainstream see the WiiU as a Fisher Price tablet for children. The very adult consumers that Nintendo thought would be dying to buy the WiiU would rather just get a real tablet. The tablet controller doesn't offer any control advantage and Nintendo never really had any ambition other than to bring the DS play experience to the home console; which frankly makes me want to puke. If graphics hardware isn't important; then why wasn't the WiiU just released as an add-on to the Wii like Kinect was for the 360? What the tablet controller is is a $150 price barrier keeping millions of people from playing the next 3D Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. A next gen 3D motion controller would only cost Nintendo about $50, but the WiiU's tablet raises the price of the box 100%. People don't see the value in the tablet controller. Nintendo has to lower the price to match the graphics and the only way to cut the cost is to offer new packages without the tablet. Nintendo not following up the Wii remote with a next generation motion controller is like if they had launched the GameCube with a GBA in the box and told consumers, "If you want analog control, you can use your N64 controllers."
The best games on the console are going to be made with the tablet in mindPurpleMan5000
Is that why Pikmin 3 allegedly controls best with Motion+?

I'd change quite a lot of their business strategy such as.... -Change the name of the "Wii U" to "Super Nintendo 2" -Implement a proper online structure that has unlockable achievements -Create new IP's because change is needed -Let third party developers make Mario games or Legend of Zelda games -Give it a competitive CPU and stop being outdated with specs -Act like they actually care about the hardcore audience and drift away the kiddy market -Utilize the 3DS more so with their console

First I would take Nintendos name off the console itself so people would be aware it's a company trying to provide quality.

Get rid of the screen from the controller and add more horsepower under the bonnet.

an update to allow users to log in the console without the Gamepad and to use Miiverse without the gamepad just so they can sell the console without the gamepad so it can be cheaper.

Honestly I think that's the sole reason why the console is so expensive right now.

(inb4itwillbeaMASSIVEupdate, no it won't be, it just wouldn't be the intended experience.)

Put more games on it? The whole reason I'm not very interested is the lack of quality games.

I would change the UI because I hate it and I hate seeing all those Mii's all over the place. Keep the Mii's in an app and away from the UI. If we could just get the UI that is on the gamepad to go to the tv (and select games from it) then I would be pleased.

Yeah, no kidding. I don't think Nintendo should make a move like that. It would just ruin all of their future offerings.

better specs for that 350 price, try to do everything in my power to make third parties develop for it, change the name to Wii-2 instead of just U.

The gimmick hasn't a single game that uses it in a fashion that is groundbreaking or even needed. It would cost 1/3 the price of the tablet for the system to feature a followup to the Wii's remote. This would capture the attention of the mainstream and the imagination of gamers watching the E3 press events online. Nintendo has to wow people again-- the tablet is just making people say, "wow, that's too expensive for a current gen console." When Nintendo showed off the Wii remote; everyone knew exactly how it was supposed to work in games and knew in their minds exactly where the technology was going to be in ten years... except Nintendo has chosen not to do what everyone saw as the future (post Wii).

So what you two are saying is that Nintendo NEEDS a gimmick?

What happened to "get rid of the gimmicks." routine? lol.

What happened to the "If it gets Cheaper, I'll buy it" routine? lol

There's nothing i could possibly change for 3rd party support to bloom again on a Nintendo console. It's a damn shame, but they will never have the support comparable to its rivals in the console industry.

The Wii U needs a larger standard HDD.

The Wii U should have a better CPU & GPU

I have a Wii U, havent turned it on now in a couple months. Still happy to have one, as I know the games will come.

Stronger hardware, sensible storage amount, games that do not involve, mario, zelda or metroid, no locking accounts or games or whatever to the specific console and pro controller with every system.

Saying "better hardware" or whatever will make the console more expensive, but here is my list: 1) Better OS speed (which is coming) 2) More games (coming) 3) Exclusives and multiplats that use the WiiU Gamepad well 4) Expose more of the WiiU Gamepad's uniqueness 5) Nintendo ID can be accessed from more than one console 6) Perhaps a USB 3.0, but that may increase the costs so I'll leave it optional

There is no game (as yet) that is built in entirety around a single new paradigm of control presented by the tablet that will change the way we play games going forward. The N64's analog stick applied to movement and camera control in all 3D games, but the WiiU doesn't have that new standard and it's clear that the only ones that will make that breakthrough are Nintendo. 100% of third party developers seem totally lost on how to create a product for this interface that excites people, or they are approaching it with the strategy of, "How can we get this port finished with the least amount of work?" Nintendo needs to demo the new first person Metroid at E3 using the tablet as one would use a head mounted display; able to turn 360 degrees and play the game soley upon the tablet screen. I would also suggest using the forward facing camera for head tracking to create the illusion of 3D. Nintendo has to create that clear format that not only shapes how games control on WiiU, but drives where the next console goes in design and control.

MORE POWAH!!!!   If the wii u was released with true next gen hardware it would be flying off the shelves right now.  Its not like the hardware wasn't available to nintendo.  They dropped the ball when they had the PERFECT opportunity to sprint ahead of both Sony and MS in the new console generation.

Basically everything Nintendo has said already, then include a full virtual console with logical added consoles (everything wii had+Sega Saturn,Dreamcast, and Nintendo Game Cube).  For me if they put phantasy star online of the GC online that alone would make me happy for good.  I'd like to see some other games anounced like PSO2, and everything that is being missed with 3rd party not missed.

I'd kick Nintendo in the crotch for making such a stupid system. And I'll kick all the sheep in the face for accepting it and waiting for Mario and Zelda rehashes to be made
