How would you rate Xbox One's 2018?

Aside from needing a couple more big exclusives like a Gears of War or a Halo I thought that this was a really good year for the Xbox One. I played quite a few excellent third party games on the system and they kept pumping out games for backwards compatibility which I definitely appreciate. I’d give it an 8/10.

6/10 from me. Amazing deals for xbox one x and has its advantages but as usual, it suffers from lack of good exclusive and reasons to even own one.

With the inclusion of Ashen, I'll go up to a 7.

1 would be generous.

Xbox One X with:

- Horizon 4

- Monster Hunter World

- Red Dead 2

- A bunch of stuff on Game Pass (paid for with Microsoft Rewards)

- Ashen dropped two days ago (on Game Pass no less).

- Below next week (GP again).

Kept me entertained, with some of the best version, and considering how great the first three I mentioned are, with the hundreds of hours I've put in them, easy ten.

I did not get even one game for X-box one this year. On the bright side, I still play Killer Instinct sometimes so I guess that is a 2/10?

Probably one of the worst years from an exclusive perspective (Sea of Thieves, State of Decay, FH4), but a solid year as a whole. Lots of BC and GP support. The 3rd party support is what is keeping the Xbox alive right now. The acquisitions show that they have potential for a better future, but doesn't fix todays problem.

I gave it a 6/10, because i found 5 to be a bit harsh. Now people may say that it did deserve a 5, which I couldn’t agree more, but lemmings been having it bad this whole gen, so I figured I do them a favor and give it a 6 instead

Rating between 6 to 8 is fine. I doesn't deserve more than that.

2 for me. The only reason why it got a 2 was because I decided to buy an Xbox One X for 4K Blu-Ray and I bought Just Cause 4 for it thinking that it would be better on Xbox One X, but had no idea Avalanche was completely incompetent with their console versions.

Doesn't matter. It's still shit. Might as well have been playing it on base Xbox One.

Probably a 3. I ain't giving pity points, they did a piss poor job this gen. Their exclusive line up is a joke for a major console maker.

Forza horizon 4 and game pass are the only reasons I am not giving it a 1.

Well for starters, the textures are pretty bad. From a distance they look OK, but there's a lot of muddy textures and they also sometimes take a few seconds to load as well. There's pop up all the place. Horrible blur effects. And the cutscenes are downright atrocious. Textures are so blurry, one woman has a label on her suit and you can't even make it what the labels says. There's supposedly a lack of anti-aliasing as well. I mean... it runs well? Just runs well while looking like shit.

@JustPlainLucas: I thought it looked really good from the DF video on all the consoles. Certainly not shit.

I haven't seen those videos. All I know is from what I played personally, it caused me a deal of concern because I thought something was wrong with my Xbox One X and/or TV. I actually had to Google Just Cause 4 graphics to see if it was just me, and there are several threads complaining about the issues. I mean, it's not the ugliest game ever made, but I certainly remember Just Cause 3 looking better on my base PS4.

It’s there. Good stuff exists but it’s all forgettable. All I’ll remember looking back is how little MS had this year to combat games like GoW, Smash, Spider-Man, plus others.

6/10. Only bought one game for it in 2018, but I have enjoyed me some multiplats on it and plan to get more eventually.

Ive at least used it this year compared to hardly turning the PS4.

Asking this in a forum riddled with hating fanboys will surely get great results lol. Having all 3 consoles the fanboy drivel makes me chuckle. The ps4 is grossly overrated with its "amazing exclusives"! And the x and pro graphics gap is grossly overrated aswell. The switch is a fun console but cant see how it can be anyones number one or only if you're a true gamer. All have there hi and lows and none are even close to as wonderful as pathetic fanboys rave about.

A lot of their games weren't that appealing to me. Sea of Thieves was a huge disappointment. State of Decay was a buggy mess. Crackdown got delayed. Forza is fantastic, but I'm not a racing fan. I don't care about battle royale games like PUBG. They kick ass at services and the One X is a great console as a console. Gamepass is awesome and the future. But without the exclusives, it doesn't do anything to get me away from my PC/PS4/Switch combo. I'd give them like a 6. They are setting themselves nicely for the future though.

Gave 8/10. I think the exclusive depths of the Xbox One was a little dry, but having the best controller, Game Pass, Forza:Horizon 4,State of Decay 2,etc .... Maybe an 8 out of 10 is a little generous, but the Xbox One is my console of choice. Hoping for a strong 2019?

9/10 = everything feels right, controller, online, more forward thinking, X and S are slick designs. Only gripes are the lack of compelling worthwhile exclusives and UI. Please MS get rid of that convoluted mess UI for next gen please!

I don't own an Xbox One anymore, so it wouldn't be fair of me to vote on Xbox One of 2018.

But I will say that I'm glad they are still poring their games on PC and that's more then good enough I can say for 2018, I guess.

Honestly, to me the xOne is dead since all the games make it to PC, which is a good thing. I wish every game would come to PC and would not be locked behind weak plastic cubes.

I was a 7/10 but Ashen and Below coming in December to Gamepass made me bump it to an 8.

When was the last time a console spent a WHOLE generation without delivering a single memorable exclusive IP? The X1 deserves such a score, it has been mediocre to say the least when its focus has been anything but games, a waste of a complete generation basically. Only lemmings can still claim it is a great console with a straight face and give a free pass to MS. In fact I will claim those giving it high scores are the ones who know shit about video games.

If the xbox was dead you wouldn't be playing xbox games on your PC, but MS thanks you for your support. Down the road you PC also becomes a weak metal cube.

I think xbox fans enjoyed their console as much as ps4, switch and PCfans loved their own platforms...

In terms of where the Xbox platform is right now as went through 2018, I think it's upwards trending. Gamepass seems like it has a future and interest, ms is buying studios... I think Xbox will be fine and had a pretty good year.

Okay I guess, I did buy FC5 and RDR2 for it after all, both time consuming games. Forza Horizon 4 from game pass was also very nice. All the remaining multiplats for this gen will also be played on the X.

The xBox One, the little plastic toy, is just standing around collecting dust. This is what I meant when i said "to me the xOne is dead". Also i'm pretty sure MS doesn't care about the individual buying their games xD I assume you are not aware of the possibility to upgrade systems? Either way, with a 1080 Ti, I'm pretty sure my PC will beat next gen systems already. So it'll be a long road ;)
