How would you save the Xbox brand?

Well, Xbox One is a complete write off, total failure and Xbox One X is a 'point and laugh' comedy console waiting to happen, regardless of alleged sales figures.

People are actually paying $500 for a console with no exclusives AT ALL that will run AAA multiplats at 30fps. That junk CPU is going to kill this thing before it even gets started it will be as underwhelming as a mid gen upgrade as the PS4 Pro. And the clowns who pre-ordered it to replace their Xbox One will get a very distinct feeling of deja vu which is going to be absolutely hilarious to witness on here.

Yeah MS has scrapped some games I've never denied that, and I was looking forward to Scalebound and was annoyed when MS cancelled it, but don't be an idiot and think it was scrapped because MS didn't like it, that's just your way of blaming MS because truth be told no one other than Platinum & MS know what happened.

I think they're doing fine. Maybe get some more first party developers on board. I've always seen Xbox as the FPS & Driving console and the go-to for multiplayer. This hasn't changed ever since they came out with the OG Xbox. People keep screaming out they need exclusives and more Japanese games but the top selling games are always third party and at least in the US, Xbox does pretty darn good against the PS.

Oh wow, where to begin. Well day one would be scouring patents for anything that looks like it could apply to bringing the precision, ergonomics and responsiveness of mouse to lazy arsed sofa gamers. (Sure there's the Steam controller, but trackpads are always terrible for gaming.) That would sort out a ton of PC crossplay headaches and make XBox the only real choice for console shooters. Then I'd acquire PUBG dev's soul, drop microtransactions from XBox version and subsidise it with a crappy, late microtransaction-riddled version for PS4 owners, where they can get destroyed by sofamouse gamers.

I think Sony is missing the boat here with its exclusives as they are just a bunch of 6hr story games with NO MP in 2017 ... todays standards that is only half a game

Backwards compat gonna bite them in the ass and their PSN Plus Subs are less then half of the fanbase

1) I would make many deals with developers to provide way better graphically games than PRO on same multiplatform games to base my marketing on that even further. I wouldnt let developer just decide, i would force them to do so with deals under the table to let people know and see that X1X is way stronger and the graphic differences are not just a joke so i could give X1X a media/community momentum.

2) Then i would pay various big Youtube channels and media to make more and more detailed head 2 head comparisons between Pro and X1X on same games to further push those graphical differences in consumers minds and keep the buzz/talks even further as X1X being the best.

3) Since i wouldnt be able to take back all these services for PC and stop support just to save X1X i would focus on TIME EXCLUSIVES. What does that mean ? That X1X users would be able to play the best MS exclusives first for quite some time before PC release. 3 to 6 months depends the title in order to make X1X even more appealing to consumers but at the same time to not let down PC fans by waiting too much.

4) I would pay some serious studios to make games that will have an appeal to both console and PC users aside Shooters and Racing games. Just to fill the gap in genres X1X missing with some serious games and ofc first on X1X as time exclusives.

5) A huge price drop -100$ in holidays after all that and voila.

A variety of exclusives! This one is a no brainer.

Xbox started going downhill towards the end of the 360 life cycle.

While services are nice, you have to be the only place to go to have certain experiences.

The OG Xbox had a great line of exclusives, it was just too new to make a huge impact.

To a fanboy it doesn't need fixing. Halo, Gears, Forza is all the games anyone needs and it's more important what is not there. Japanese games and indies are the devil. Keep Xbox pure. Sports games, driving games, shooters. Multiplayer games. Single player games aren't needed I guess. Competitive multiplayer is what video games are to an Xbox fanboy and all other genres are stupid.

First party, console only exclusives. Give people a genuine reason to buy the console.

Its not RED BUTTON EMERGENCY time yet. They are still moving consoles and keeping users happy. But if they go Free2Play online, I'd never use the PS4 again outside of exclusives

First I'd rest the 3 pillars (Halo, Gears & Forza) for a few years while allowing 343/Coalition/Turn 10 to split into 2 teams each and experiment on new IP ideas. They can continue to work on the pillars in the background but given them more time.

Next I'd invest in some new worldwide studios with fresh ideas and give them the freedom to try new things. Not everything has to be AAA either, just add variety.

Seek out key 3rd Party partnerships.

Market the hell out of the system/brand in every market. You hear of all these things they do in the US but we don't see anything here in NZ and I'm sure its very similar in many other countries. Here Playstation is the defacto gaming brand when non gamers ask about games, just like the Nintendo was back in the 80's & 90's.

As part of that marketing, sing the virtues of the awesome ecosystem. No one outside of gamers have any idea about Game Pass or EA Access which is so stupid. Both of these would be huge for casual gamers if they knew about them.

Sega would then launch a new console called Sega Dreamcast X or Xbox Dreamcast One, and rebrand some Microsoft exclusives to improve sales in Japan. Watch your back Sony and Nintendo! Then, a few years down the line Sega will become the dominant force in the console market with Sonic taking over the throne and kicking Mario off the cliff >:D (Being a bit adventurous here...)

If Sega released a new console I would be there day 1!! Imagine what modern day Blast Processing could do lol

I get angry at Xbox fanboys that say all Xbox needs is Halo, Gears, and Forza when don't seem to realize the revelance of those games is dying. Naughty Dog was smart enough to make Last Of Us while they were working on their final Uncharted games. Something fresh for gamers to look forward to while ending the Uncharted series, you could see God of War was taking a decline despite being a major PS exclusive and now it is being revamped/rebooted into a style different from previous games and an actual story that doesn't make Kratos look like a complete asshole.

I would change the focus group of the console. It is clear to me now that the xbox fans are contributing to the brand's demise by being extremely complacent and not questioning anything that comes from MS, like lemmings.
