How would you spend $4,000 on gaming?

A few rules/tips:

1.  You don't own any systems, or games.  Hermits I'll give you a barebones pc that you'll only need to add a CPU and graphics card to for $200 (est cost of ram and mobo).

2.  Try to use retail prices, no used game/hardware prices.

3.  You're not stuck w/ next gen, you want a old system by an old system.

4.  You can't buy games/hardware that isn't out yet.  Sorry this isn't gamestop you can't preorder.:D

5.  Don't forget to buy something to play on (IE a TV), and cables to connect it (hermits have to buy a monitor).

6.  If the price can be argued always link.

I'm going to be working on mine for a bit so I'll post it later.

Well if it was for gaming, First thing I would do is forget about gaming, and get a Roland Fantom X8. Then maybe a 360 with the money left over.

I would save most of it until fall, and buy a PS3 this summer. (Only owned a Gamecube since 2001, N64 before that) My parents already have a Sony Vega 60' 1080p HDTV which is AMAZING. So I would only buy a new PC when I found out the requirements of the next Blizzard game (being announced sometime this year).

1500$ gaming PC, 360, 42" LCD, Oblivion (PC for all the mods), and Gears of War to start out.  Then if there's any money left, buy a Wii (if I could find one, good thing I do in real life.) and Twilight Princess.  If there's still money left, buy a nice comfortable chair, and some food.

I'd buy:

Wii
PS3
360
Extra wireless controllers for each
XBL + Two year warranty + batter charge kits

The rest would go to games

  • ps3 60 gig /360 Elite combo
  • extra controller for each
  • HDMI cable
  • play and charge kit
  • xbox live subscription
  • 360 vision camera
  • Resistance , Gears of War , God of War II
  • one year gamefly subscription
  • a nice 1080p TV

That would probably come close to $4000.

i might spend 2k or so on a tv and a wii, but really, i'd try to save most of it. it's better to save money than to spend it on a few games you'll grow tired of.

Let's see... $1,500 on a TV, maybe another $499 on an audio system... all 3 consoles, and the rest on games. Or a $4,000 PC package. I don't have $4,000 to blow now.

Own a PS3

$1500 on a gaming PC.

$800 on a 1080p monitor

$630 on a Wii, 3 ccntrollers, ZeldaTP, and WarioWare.

$400 on old PS RPGs and PS2 games.

Save the last $600 or so for the next 360 version that'll come out later this year with the 65nm cpu.
