I can't wait to get this, the demo was so much fun and with cheats and 4 friends its even better, nothing like turning on god mode and spawning two dozen witches and seeing the hilarity ensue.
If you looked closely, you would find that though many individual people hyped the game as AAA for THEMSELVES, pretty much all the main people in the Left 4 Dead hype thread knew that Gamespot would give it an 8.5 or at least not AAA.
[QUOTE="DrinkDuff"]Because there isn't enough content. Most AAA singleplayer games have about 20 hours of pure content (excluding replayability). Being priced as a full retail game doesn't help either.DrinkDuff
20 maps different zombie layout every time plus versus. between the demo and the full game I have put over 20 hours into it. I will probably put another 20 into it by sunday.Â
See, I am not trying to argue the replayability of the game, (its damn good), but when you can get through all the unique game content of a full priced game in just 4 hours, its just not a AAA value. 20 maps sounds like a lot on paper but these are linear experiences, not open-ended deathmatch maps.
You are trying to pigeonhole this game into the standards of a typical single player game. It's not like "ok I beat the campaign I am done with it" type of thing. The whole point of this game was to develope a coop experience that you can replay over and over again. It's a new type of game. It hasnt been done before. That is the entire point of the AI director. And it takes much more than 4 hours to beat the game if you are playing it on expert.
