to me resistance single player is pretty fun. sigma has a release date of july 3rd for na, no europe release has been confirmed yet. lair has been pushed back to augus btw.

Finally i have decided on a PS3 !!!! The BS + Drake + Lair convinced me finally :)

buh buh ps3 is the 3D0 just kidding :D i dont have an hdtv yet either and the games still look amazing to me. i will be purcahsing a 720p set though when some better games come out like ninja gaiden sigma.

Get it off craigslist. You'll save a lot of money that way and usually they will package in games like Resistance for you.MisterEngilsh

Hopefully you'll get one of the earlier versions, since they're supposedly cutting back on the B/C list in the newer systems.

Actually If you read the price drop thread I posted in the Informational Gaming Union, it's more detailed and goes alittle into the price history of the first two Sony systems which followed a pattern of a price drop within their first year or so.

Dude, HDTV's are extremely cheap these days. If you are short on dough, buy a 26 inch or a 32 inch LCD HDTV.

From what I know the PS2 took its price drop a couple months after it's first year so in that case you are correct.  From what I know and have heard they both took a price drop within a year or two, I have yet to find a reliable source for PS2 price drop info, same with the PSOne.  My bad, I didn't mean to say a year or so...

If there are PS3 games you want is one thing, but you won't really be playing FFX in HD...you'll be playing it upscaled to HD resolutions, which doesn't look much better than its original resolution.  If they were going to natively render it in HD and throw in some anti aliasing it would be different, but the difference as it is is VERY marginal.Steppy_76

I didn't get remorses, i'm very happy with my PS3 and so is all the people that i've talked to that own one.

I say, if the TC wants one he should go for it, he won't regret. And he should buy Resistance and Motorstorm while he's at it.

Money is always a big deal, but even with a price drop i would only earn a game more, unless it is a HUGE price drop, which i doubt I might wait until NG:Sigma is out though, this june, or hoild a bit back for Drake, still i REALLY WANT to play FF10 in HD !!! Tough decision, maybe Two Worlds on 360 hold me back until Bioshock and Blue Dragon, then will be easier to delay getting it until Drake is out, but i can't tell if i can hold back even until this is outgreg_splicer

There's going to be a price drop this year. I doubt Sony can ignore the NPD numbers for much longer.

I don't like wasting money so I always recommend people to wait a while to buy the PS3, and later this year is great time with releases like GTAIV, Uncharted, Haze, Heavenly Sword, and Ratchet and Clank Future.

The biggest mistake you can do right now is buy something on impulse. You seen future games that have not been reviewed. You are basing your purchase off unproven games.

If you are upset about your purchase when the games you want finally do come out... It will be only your fault.

I have to note i am not considering a PS3 now after just an impulse, because i can play on of my most favourite games of all time (FF10) in HD, i was going to get a PS3 anyway, for games like White Knight and FF13, so it is not like i might never have got one, so from that point the purshashe makes total sense, since i can enjoy demos now and FF10 in HD, and maybe NG:Sigma this summer, followed by Drake, and then a huge wait for FF13, still those would be enough to hold me back until FF13 comes

The problem is, i would REALLY LOVE a price drop, so i can spend that money easier, right now i do have a hard time, because the expense is HUUUUGE, it is not the PS3 only, but a HDMI cable, and one game, which makes the price skyrocket, i might get no games though, and things would get just a little bit better, or find some used to buy
