I own both consoles and am really looking forward to burnout paradise but am stuck between which version to buy. I have played COD4 on both consoles so I do know how close games for both formats can be even though the 360 clinches in for COD4 due to better online, better textures up close and faster load times.

I know I should download the demos but to be honest I can't be bothered. But this time burnout was developed on PS3 primarily and should have the advantage. Can anyone who has played the demo on both console give me their own unbiased opinion on which version I should pick up. Thanks to all honest views and replies.

Supposedly their are minor framerate issues with the 360 version, but I'd wait for some reviews to come out and then you'll be able to make a better decision.

they pretty much the same.

so consider the following and you'll hopefully get to a decision:

1- controller (which one is more confortable to you for driving games)

2- online (you prefer XBL or PSN services)

P.S. does the ps3 version support custom soundtrack btw?

I always like to make sure the PS3 version will have voice chat on multiplats. With the 360 you know it's going to be there no matter what, on the PS3 who knows which will support chat and which won't.

Well I took the plunge and downloaded both demos are they really are both exactly the same but I don't know why but I enjoyed the PS3 version more. The PS3 online seems more integrated into the game,no signing into the EA servers when looking for an online match. If developers are matching the 360 after 1 year of the PS3 being on sale this looks really good. Pity orange box does not match the 360 version as good as this though.

Maybe criterion are right that developers should produce the PS3 version first then port to 360.

PS3 was the primarily platform by a long shot.. it's something like 5% better IMO, mostly due to more integrated online. The other half of the coin is that the main focus of the game is its online, and with XBL you've likely got a lot more friends that'll have that platform.

360 will probably have more people to play with, but once Dualshock 3 comes out the PS3 version will probably support SIXAXIS controls along with the rumble feature.

It's easily imported. "Just wait" if you want to; were rumble a necessity to someone it's easily obtainable.

The point is 360 owners have it NOW. If you want rumble on PS3, it is a hassle either way.

It is a valid strong point against the PS3 version.

they are exactly the same except for mabe 360 has more online options thanks live being intergrated even more so in because xbox demands all games to have live in there in some way. ps3 online i great toom but psn isn't that great, but if u don't care to much about which because of online, get the one that your friends have. heck i'm getting the 360 verison because of the guide button...u know messaging in game ad reieveing in game...plus private caht in in-game still can't do that on the ps3 verison i tried with the demo...

That may be debatable. But heres the facts. 360 has achievements and PS3 doesn't. STupid or not, that is one strength 360 has.

Obviously somebody has not played on a 360 often as their console of choice. Because if you did, achievements would have more weight with you.

they should and are now...but that means 360 owners have to wait sadly now...tho u get more sold game on both..on main reason for why it hard ti port 360 to ps3 is the ps3 only has one gpu and the 360 has 3, no not graphics cards, general prossing units, they are each core on the 360 and ps3 only ahs 1 core and 7 spes(depending if all spes are working i've been hearing rumors that some spes are starting malfunction and break.)

Exactly. It would just be too much hassle to get it imported and all that stuff. I just remember playing games like DMC and the rumble just adds to the experienced. And yeah having your own custom soundtrack while your killing all kinds of enemies is just an nice extra feature that would enhance the gaming experience. Jump in.

Ps3 version all the way for me. Most of my friends are on PSN anyway, and the whole interface of BPs online seems to eliminate the advantages of XBL. Achievements are nice, but hardly a necessity, and i dont mind waiting for rumble, ill be getting a dualshock this month anyway.

Besides which, every preview of the final build ive read suggests teh PS3 version is the way to go.

I think that immediately makes the ps3 version better. I have a wii and I've been using the wiimote as a steering wheel for racing games and it's really fun. I even got one of those steering wheels to set the wiimote into. I never had one of those race wheels and even now they are too expensive since I would only use it for a couple of games.

Motion sensing for steering wheel= win

edit: although I wonder how the sixaxis would handle as a steering wheel. The wiimote set into a steering wheel is ideal, but you can't really set the sixaxis into a steering wheel can you? Maybe you dont have to

hmmm since im getting dualshock 3 aswell and it supports sixaxis, then its ps3 for me...although i cant see it possible how you would steer the car with the controller like that at like really fast speeds.

I've heard the PS3 has less framerate issues.. but I havn't seen issues on the 360 version in the first place. So I would assume it may just come down to preference on stuff like controllers and achievements.

well if it took you that long just to find an old rumor on a playstation.com thread, then i don't think it's true.

even the guy who made the thread said it might be a biased source.

From what I've heard, the PS3 version is better.

Besides the slight performance advantage on the PS3, the online integration is better there. For the 360, you have to go through XBL to connect to people, but since the PS3 doesn't have that infrastructure, going online is more seamless.

have you played the demo with it?

if it doesn't work that sucks, but in a game like burnout it might be a blast anyway. I have my doubts that its that bad

I think it makes far more sense to just buy it on the 360 if you have both machines, as opposed to buying it for the PS3 and importing a new controller. Therefore i disagree with your post.

So much so that i'm going to turn 360 degrees and walk away from it. :P
