MS covers your 360 for 3 years from the time you buy it. There is no other warranty needed.
People are ill-informed around here it seems. Do some reasearch.

Well there are some great exclusive games coming in 2008. If you get a PS3 you will not be dissapointed one bit. You may even be happier due with BluRay, crazy exclusives for 2008, and a the PS3 is an extremely reliable machine.
It's up to you, but no matter what you pick I can pretty much guarantee that yuo will be a happy gamer.
[QUOTE="ish_gibbor"]Get a new version that does not break that often. the Falcom or whatever.
Many peoples 360's will last many years. As with all electronics there are the bad apples. Believe me PS3's break, PS2's break, and PS1's break. Usually if an electronics device survives on year it will survive 5. Most electronics break in the first year if they are going to.
Get and extended warrently and play the hell out of your 360. Leave it on all the time, that way you will know quick if it is one that will last years or not.

I just can't stand the uncertainty and fear that comes with a possible wasted 500 bucks anymore. I'm selling my 360 when it comes back from the brick warehouse.
I just read on wikipedia that all 360s will eventually rrod due to the cheap, nonleadbased soldering used in the processors. I also hear that the new units are not any more reliable than the old ones, because it is the heatsink and soldering, and not the motherboard that is the issue.
So, basically, Microsoft really messed up with the RRoD this gen, and I think it will cost them first and second place in the console race.
They should have the Chinese construct the 360s. They put lead in everything.
I like the 360 more than the PS3, but that 3ROD thing sucks. I totally understand the desire to ditch the 360 for this reason. Its BS, and MS should've fixed the problem already, and I dont consider increasing the warranty length a solution. Fumpa
They never considered it a final solution. It's simply there until they get the problem fixed and probably for quite awhile more for previous360 users.
My Xbox 360 just got the 3 red rings after 1 year of good use. I treated it well and kept it in a very cool spot and it still decides to break. I am lucky I still have a warranty from EB Games, so I can just exchange it.
But I have to admit I really am thinking of trading it for a PS3. I mean, these machines seem to break so often, there is no point in getting another one because that will just break also.
Please convince me to stick with the 360, I am just finding it hard now knowing that mine has broken, and my next one most likely will.

A word of advice, nothing lasts forever.

Why cant Microsoft just hire a really smart nerd to fix the problem? I mean what the hell do they do down there...
Problem should of been fixed by now.
PS3 really does not have many if any games for me. Xbox 360 has the games for me but it always breaks down :(
I have no idea what to do, get an Xbox 360 and risk the chance of it breaking in future and having to buy a complete new one?
