1. They gave a 1 year head start to Microsoft and lost marketshare so they could wait to put in blu-ray.
2. They kept the last gen gpu to make up for the additional costs.
3. They included a first gen blu-ray drive that can't even read videogames fast enough - hence everyone's harddrive is gonna fill up eventually.
Face it, they'll probably cut out early and release the PS4 at the same time as Microsofts next gen system. Then they'll be back at the top with both the developers and the games, with a next gen gpu, a developer friendly cpu, and a faster reading blu-ray drive. It'll be sooner than you think, trust me ;)

I actually agree with everything you said here.. I think Sony sold out to bluray and now it is showing... I think the PS4 will be a much better console then the PS3 ever was and yes I think they will gain some respect back..

Seriously, what part of "kojima is a perfectionist" do you not understand? The only way Kojima would have been satisfied is if it was 100% perfect. The part he's complaining about is the vastness of the levels. Is that going to majorily effect the game. Do you think kojima simply let the game suck? No, his vision was not met but he still undoubtably created a brilliant game. The only one who will be dissappointed by MGS4 is kojima...
After hearing this bad news, alot of people will definitely feel that MGS4 is not a system seller, what a disappoint, a downward spiral. Once again, the PS3 2008 GOTY is a multiplat, GTA IV.

LOL I am glad you enjoy my posts and I could EASILY afford a PS3. That is not even an issue.. I just choose not to because quite frankly there is not one game I want.. MGS4 was the only game I even considered but now... I think the PS3 this gen is even more laughable then I originally thought..

unfortunately i dont think kojimas statements will be on the back of the box, right next to the gamespot 8.5 "worst review this gen" quote (repeat of last gens MGS3 review almost guaranteed IMO)
not everybody whos interested in gaming will go chasing kojima interviews, they will watch videos and previous press conferences and you cant help but be buzzed (even if the beta will frustrate the hell out them)

Really? You believe PS3will flop? What games are exclusive for the 360? Name 5 good ones that your almost 100% sure wont be ported to PC. Then talk about a flopping system. I believe u can afford a Ps3. I mean if u can afford a 360 plus a couple years or live then u could have saved money with a PS3 instead. FYI there isnt a single 360 game that really peaks many people's interest coming out this year. Theyre trying to scoure for games with big names hoping they do well so they have something to hold on to but in reality i just hope youve saved enough money for the next xbox because itll come out sooner than u would like.

I hate watching you slander a legendary franchise, and am almost willing to bet money that you have never played a single MGS game. I also hate watching you sit up here and say that PS3 owners are forcing themselves to like this game, and calling them cows. your seriously suaded by how people spin comments like that? Look Kojima is saying that he overestimated the Ps3. That doesnt mean he thinks the game stinks, he just wants us to get a feel for what to expect. What in the world kind of dev would hit their game like that before release? hes being honest and wants us to know what were going to get. MGS4 (by every reviewer thus far) is going to rock. By judging by your last sentence it seems u never really planned to get a Ps3 but rather are using this perspective to try and persuade other PS3 buyers. ("Pretty bumper cars 5")?
I think you're not understanding. This is not spin, I read Kojima's comments directly from the magazine. He basically is letting out his frustration that he was tricked (or slightly misled) by Sony when it comes to how powerful their system was going to be.
Back in the day, Kojima was raving about MSG4 and how amazingly deep it was, far surpassing anything on the market. This was the foundation of the HYPE around MSG4 to this day. Now, Kojima is fessing up and lowering expectations - after realizing that it only lived up to 1/10th of what he had planned. This literally means, that it is not going to live up to the current level of hype because it is based off of his own (mislead) perceptions and statements of what the game would be.

It has nothing to do with being ported.. That argument is so weak it holds no water... MS owns games for Windows why do they care about it being ported? The deal about getting tio play the game first for atleast 6 months to a year before it goes to PC is good enough for me..
Games this year is easy..
Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2 and Gears of War 2.. Nothing the PS3 has coming out this year even stands a chance against those titles..
MGS4 was the only game that could have lived up to the hype.. But as of now I am not so sure... I do not have to save up money bro.. I could go out and buy 5 PS3 if I wanted to and not even blink.. It is not a case of money.. It is a case of games..
Nothing the PS3 has but MGS4 even interests me, The PS3 is a big flop.. the fact that it has bluray which is a limitation to the hardware and is being proven time and time again.. It is not a plus.. Sure it is great for movies, but guess what..My dvd player upscales regular DVD's just fine and they are 1/2 the price...
Right now the PS3 is just an inferior console.. WHo cares if it has all these bells and whistles, what I care about is games and the 360 has the games... PERIOD!

To be fair, I'm not saying that MSG4 wont be a good game or sell well. I'm just saying that it wont necessarily be the "savior" of the PS3 and the greatest game ever made. With the PS3's track record, it really needed a "savior" to sway people like myself.
I will be cancelling my pre-order tomorrow ...... I will just go with Battlefield Bad Company or something instead.

LOL the 8 or 9 million that will purchase this game? That is almost 100% bof the PS3 user base.... MGS 4 will never approach Halo 3 numbers so dont go getting your hopes up.. And I did not slander MGS4 Kojima did that for me :D
I have played MGS 2 and 3 so don't go there.. I had a PS2 and an Xbox last gen.. assuming anything about me bring epic failure on your part..
I cannot wait to see the EPIC dissapointment when this game does not score on metacritic AAAE status.. See I am not even saying gamespot.. I am saying metacritic.. just like every other game for the PS3 hasn't scored AAAE status..

I think you need to improve your reading comprehension skills.
If you've been gaming for longer than 2 years, you would KNOW that Kojima has said that every single MGS game didn't live up to his expectations due to hardware limitations. He said this after MGS1. He said this after MGS2, and he said this after MGS3.
