I hated the demo. I personally don't see how anyone can find the game scary. To me, Silent Hill and the like are scary because you're alone in an open area with no clue to what's going in. Constant imagery (Turned Over WheelChairs, Bloody Hand-Prints Etc..) are what keep you in a constant fear to move ahead. With Jericho, I'm pushing through one area to the next fighting TOO many enemies with really no vivid imagery to keep me anxious. Plus, the fact you have a Squad takes away the fear of being alone since you often have back-up. I can see why people like it, but to me (Based On WHAT I PLAYED), it'll be a safe 7.0 +. In the end, it's preference. I'm into pure Psychological Horror so I'll stick to playing through BioShock again :PSon_Of_SynysterUndying was the anti-thesis to System Shock. Its more of a grotesque style horror instead of psycological. Undying scored higher than SS2, so I'm expecting big things here.

I can see what you are saying about being alone and whatnot, but are you going to sit there and tell me that Bioshock was a scary game? I hyped the hell out of Bioshock, but once I bought it and got it home I hated it. The demo was alright and all so I gave the full game a chance, but about 2 hours into the game I just lost interest and I probably will not pick the game back up. I will probably sell the game.

Yeah Bioshock was definatly exagerated, I mean, "spells doing anything you can imagine in real life" and "You'll want to re-do scenes with different techniques" were my two biggest draws to Bioshock, and they both turned out to be fairly not true.
I can't quite see why anyone would hate this game, it might not be "that" scary, but it certainly provides a good atmosphere for it.

I had the same reaction to Bioshock. I really hope I can pick it up again sometime later next year because it was $50.You have chosen wisely, lol. I already have this baby paid for, just waiting until October 23rd. Just in time for Halloween.ironcreed
if its good i might have to get this and manhunt 2
I haven't personally tried it yet, but I have a small, possibly incorrect theory: the people who hated the demo, are you trying the 360 version or PC version?
I remember trying the Airborne demo on XBL and hating it, but then downloading it on PC and thinking it was pretty damn fun.
Awww son of a. I forgot to download the demo. *runs off*VandalvideoYeah me too.

Wow, how come? Bioshock gets a lot better the more you get into it, since you start unlocking more plasmids/tonics and more slots for them and the gameplay becomes considerably more varied.
I just tried the PC demo, and I have a bit mixed feelings about it, definately not AAA tho, not on PC anyway. It looked good, ran well and the basic gameplay was fine, it was nicely challenging too without making you reload games when you die as you can revive the dead members. But somehow it didn't appeal to me, I hated the going down the pit part where you have to press the buttons(ala Fahrenheit), tho I've hated that in the previous games as well. Also it was too fast to be scary for me. And it had a bit consolish feel to it kinda like Condemned. This is bargain bin material to me, but should appeal to fans of this type of games.
Overall the demo was a blast especially the part where you have to go down that hole and press the right buttons in order to survive.

Ugh, I love QTE's. I'd rather have an interactive cutscene if they're going to have them to begin with.
i own undyng and i love it, but from what ive seen from gameplay footage, and from what ive seen i didnt like the way the game seems to play out, it seems more like an TPS shooter then and a horror/survival game.
that vision thing(cant remember the name of it) on Undyng was genius, i wish they made a sequel.

I played the demo for this game last night and it is just flat out scary and at the same time it is easily one of the coolest experiences I have ever had in a game. On top of all that it runs beautifully completely maxed out and looks just stunning. In the game you can switch from teammate to teammate and use each ones special abilities to overcome obsticles in the map. Each teammate has very cool and different fighting techniques that make this a very very cool and unique experience. I HIGHLY recommend you play the demo because I am sure this will be an incredible hit when this game comes out. If you know anything about Clive Barker games you know that he can send chills of terror through your spine like noone else. AWESOME game for sure!

I think I know that reference! Am I awesome or what?
"You have chosen wisely." is a line from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Spoken by a knight of the First Crusade. Parts of Jericho takes place during the Crusades, or something like that.
I didn't like the demo btw.
lol, I NEVER download from gamespot. It is WAY to slow. I go and wait in line at fileplanet and it is still faster than downloading from here.Wow. The Gamespot download manager requires an update every damn time I start it.
About to start the demo download.

My reply is a bit late, but anyway :P. BioShock honestly scared me more than ANY Game/Movie/Haunted Attraction etc.. I think it's two things: 1)I played it like a survival horror game, not a shooter. I'd spend 10 minutes in EVERY room creeping around corners, looking and listening to EVERYTHING the atmosphere has to offer. 2)It's my style of horror. I'd rather watch Audition than Halloween anyday. Please Log In to post.
