I am starting to think the Wii really is a fad

Only the hardcore gamers don't like the Wii. Personally, I don't care if Nintendo completely ignores them altogether and goes after the casual market.Kalel559

Okay all that are posting the WII is a FAD, WII sucks, let's look at the other consoles that are next gen..

PS3 man talk about a lame FAD console if there ever was one.. Most PS3 fanboys trump up the system posting oh This game is the best and, yah that game will rock unfortunatly these games haven't even been released... However on the same note towards the WII you Super Mario Whatever will be lame. What gives you can say your unreleased title will be better than a WII unrelease title... Well look in the Mirror your best scorring game is a 360 port, all else is really craptacular.. Yeah the PS3 is the textbook definition of FAD if there ever was one. On release people were shooting each other to get one, then a month later you could stroll almost into any store and purchase one. Damn talk about being owned PS3 fanboy sony owned you hard... They sold you a blue ray player that just so happens to play console games.

The 360 is less of a fad than the PS3, since it is the sales leader... However it also plays it completly safe, and thefore it is really just an extension of the XBOX. The 360 was the first to the market, and at least it had some worthy launch titles. However M$ wants to nickle and dime you to death...

Man you have no idea what a fad is do you? The PS3 is anything but a fad, it's long term console, the Wii is a fad it's made to be a fad , it's coming out with it's best games within it's first year, it's dirt cheap, it's so easy to play that even old granny and beat you with the games it has.

Every add is geared to show it's a party console. The wii is just the DS on crack, that you can put to your TV, thats all it is amini-game party console, and nothing more.

Fads blow out of the gate and sell a ton , and everyone loves them, but then after a while they see if has no depth and no lasting appeal, and so it dies off to become just a memery.

But when I ask wii fans to help me find some good games they always tell me to get the exact same games. and all of them came out on launch date, and theres like 3 of them. So until Nintendo gets there damn act together and makes some more immersive games im keeping my money.

ok, so lets have every game be exactly the same in a series so junior or mommy or daddy can play it... how boring would that be, i mean dont mess with a formula i agree with ex: halo, it playes like 1&2 but it adds some more elements to keep it fresh.

the problem with the wii is the reason its selling its cause it finally seemed to crack the jackpot motherload of an audiance, skilless and absolutly braindead people that no absolutly nothing of what a good game is and dont like any learning cuve...people that want everygame to be a button tap, good job wii!

now i dodislike the wii because that but its not likeI dispise every game for it i am happy its getting some games like SSBB, metroid, and resident evil... but on the wii, onlyfanboys and people that know games are going to get these games, which is sadly a very small part of its fanbase now, and you will see this by these games being outsoldby crap games that appeal to people that once again have utterly no knowledge of what a good game is. basically these people are starting out like it was the NES again, they are completely new to gaming and willprobably not likethese big title games that actually have somesort of depth to them.

My point was that, "hardcore" gamers tend to bash on casuals for not wanting a deep and complex control scheme for their games, but what a lot of "hardcore" gamers seem to hate about the Wii is that the controller complicates the games they are used to. It's just ironic that "hardcore" gamers are more casual than they realize.

That is not what happed to the PS3, thats a nomal sales spike for when a console launchs without very meny games, as soon game the games start to cme out you will see the sales start to slowly go up, like everyone in the world says the PS3 is a long term console, it's ment to last for 6-10 years.

It may seem that way now, but just watch, it will completly turn around in, 6 months to a year, And thew PS3 will be out seling the Wii from month to month, thats not to say that the Wii will have not sold a crap load of consoles buy then, no one can say that the Wii isn't doing great, im just saying I think it's not a long lasting console, bt a bang for your buck now console.

I've owned a Wii since launch and there's not much difference from Gamecube since the graphics are the same, and Wii remote doesn't make it much more fun, the only thing that is better is the online, except Gamecube should have had online. Wait I guess it doesn't since non of the actually freaking games are online.

The wii remote and regular controllers are like mouses and touchscreen computers. One is easier to control, but it doesn't make it more fun or anything. I really don't use what is so awesome about just like moving the controller instead of buttons. But then again Wii isn't for the hardcore directly unlike the Xbox 360 which is mainly for us. And developers are too lazy to make them one to one, which btw doesn't work well since its so limited in space.

You're in denial. What happened to the PS3 is only 'normal' for consoles that are being beaten out by a market leading console. Like the Wii.

Quite frankly I'm confident in saying that there will never be a single month where PS3 outsells Wii in North America. Ever.

There's never been a week in which PS3 has outsold Wii in Japan and there never will be.

And now that the EU launch is over, the PS3's current sales will never exceed the Wii's current sales again in that region either.

Only market leading consoles like the Wii get to enjoy continued sales for longer than six years. The PS3 is short term in comparison.

Keep waiting for the turn-around to happen, but you're going to need more than a Snickers bar.

What you have described as a fad is exactly what the PS3 did in sales. Just because youbuy the sony's marketing that it's a long term console. WhenbluRay fails, and you guys realize yeah the graphics aint gonna be any better than the 360's, and all the 3rd party developers have abandond the PS3 for greener pastures then. Maybee you will see the truth...Dude wake up the WII is thefastest selling console ever in the history of consoles, and you have the gumption to call it a fad, sorry but just becuse you call it a fad ain't gonna change the sales numbers call it what you want Nintendo doesn't care they are making money by the truckfull. While the PS3 looses money for sony by the truckload. 7 million WII's sold in 7 months is freaking amazing sales, as far as consoles.

I tell you what in a year we will have the same discussion you can tell me how the WII is a fad, and the PS3 is not... Maybe you will look around and crawl out of your PS3 shell by then...
