I Do Not Want This Gen to End!

Play more thant 6 hour long games, FPS games, and casual sh!t then. There has been a ton of great games that don't fall into the categories you mentioned. Publishers will whine as long as there is a reason to whine, and if there isn't a reason, then they will find/make one up. Don't pay attention to it, simple. Didn't hate the gen but it was wasted on following the cod market which nothing other then BF3 really came close to capture. Most games that had Cod MP died within 2 months. If you think the past 3 years have been the greatest years of gaming then idk what to tell you.

The big difference between this gen and last was the fact GTA (not counting the psp ports) and Halo didn't come out each year. Both games shared the market. This gen since 2008/9 it has been a complete CoD dominance of the market

I don't think there will be that much of a jump next gen. It seems like we have reached a barrier. While I'm sure graphics can always be improved, how much further is the question. I don't think it will be a lot. Were going to be paying for things like all games finally running in 1080p at 60 fps. The areas I think could be most improved are things like physics and AI. Which seem to take a backseat everytime to graphics. I don't see a need for a next gen. Had the jump from last gen been an insignificant improvement, I would have agreed that last gen should not have ended, but it was a huge jump (Wii excluded). I don't think next gen consoles will do much more than what they do now and the graphics are looking amazing as is. FPSDad1161

Honestly, I could care less if we get a new gen of systems anytime soon, if ever. I am completely satisfied with my Xbox 360, and to a lesser extent, my Wii. There are still a ton of games coming out for all of the systems (not so much the Wii with the Wii U around the corner), from all genres, that I really don't need a new system anytime soon. I've owned a lot of different systems throughout the years, and the one that has felt like the most complete package to me is the 360. This isn't meant to start a fanboy war, as I'm sure others have found other systems to be their complete package. But I'm just saying that this gen has been amazing, and I don't really care about the graphical and hardware improvements that will be found next gen. I'm loving what I have now, and don't really need nextgen. How does everyone else feel besides graphics whores?FPSDad1161

Also from what I hear the next gen will be a multi media machine as well as a gaming machine so that will be great for your home network also when streaming hd content.

Showing my age here but the snes was the best then the ps2. This gen has had very little innovation and made dlc mainstream with patches and the death of single player. Plus the hardware broke at a unprecedented rate.

This E3 proved this gen lasted long enough.

It could end and I wouldn't care. It could prolong and I wouldn't care. As long as there are good games to be played, the hardware means little to me.

That's elitist to a sickening point. Consoles give a huge chunk of people (ranging from children who can't buy a computer to those who are less fortunate as far as money goes) the opportunity to play games -- it also sustains the gaming industry (along with PC, obviously). The game industry is evolving, at its own pace: the only 'barrier' developers have claimed to find on consoles is graphical - something that represents no significance in the evolution of the gaming industry. If the hardware limited AI or gameplay, I'd understand your complaint - the only thing it does alter, however, is the number of pixels and the draw distance in games.
