While TP did have its short comings it was a FANTASTIC AAA gamecube game. For Wii standards, it however was not. There was basically 4 times as much space used left open on the wii disc and nothing went in it. Which is understandable on nintendos part to cash in. But really TP is an Amazing Last Gen Game that does in fact still hold up to todays standards pretty damn well. It has a great story, midna is an amazingly complex character, good graphics, though some spots very blurry, it has its high lights (water effects), gameplay (solid as ever), and lasting (40 hours is great for an adventure game). As big as a fanboy as i am, yes the game has it's flaws, but like i said in my review, they are very easy to overcome, and (IMHO) the game ends upbeing perfect
I think its an AAA still adn deserves at least a 9.0. However anything above a 9.5 is a bit fanboyish as it is not perfect.

94% is a little high. 92% is more like it.
Although I'll say this. The triforce fetchquest in the WW is the main reason why I prefer TP over it. Nothing in TP was as bad as that.

While I do agree that it is a great game, and deserves at least a 9.0...
...you thought the story was good? I thought it was badly done. It had potential, but I think they ruined it with Ganondorf and not explaining the Triforce. :/
Also, even though I really like Midna, she is very, VERY similiar to Tatl (from MM). They both start out just using Link, but in the end they like him. So it isn't really anything new in the Zelda universe... and Ganondorf's complexity from TWW is gone in TP, too... >_>

agreed. IMO in terms of the game as a wholeTP>WW....in terms of story WW>>>>TP.Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf felt like accessory's in TP. It was basically Midna's story.

tati was more flat, nut midna was very a very dynamic character, when i thouht she died i was very sad, man im going to go play the game again.

nah, gannondorf felt like an accessory, they should have just kept zant as the main villian that would have been so badass, but zelda was very important for the story as was link.
[QUOTE="Kenshi_is_god"]heh, that;s funny, of course i played it u dumb sheep, i cant believe ur a sheep, u disgrace us, im just saying it doesnt deserve its score, and yes it is a sort of remake of ocarina of time, water temple? fire temple? ganondorf? three triforce? hyrule? ring a bell?it sounds like you didn't play it.
actually I know you didn't play it.
Either that or didn't play OoT. Because it's not even close to a remake of OoT.

Perosnally I think people use that term too freely. It doesn't stand the test of time, therefore not being one of the greatest games of all time. "Greatest game for its time" is a bit more appropriate.Eh? I just got a copy of the Zelda Collector's Edition disk, and to me it's easily better than TP... and I had never played it before this Monday.
DivergeUnify
I beat it about 4 times...
After that, I just went back to Wind Waker.
I mean, its great and all, but nowhere near a AAA title.
First time through the new temples were insanely cool, but after those novelties wore off the game lost some of its charm.
And the world felt too much like a game... Instead of the cohesive world it should have been, the world felt like it was segmented and split in ways that lost immersiveness.
The bosses WOULD have been cool, but they were stupid easy, a growing trend for Nintendo.
The best part of the game was the City In The Sky.
Overall, I loved it, but it wasnt AAA worthy (IMO).
Oh, and han_186, If you have a problem with it, play the game, then just write a review on it.
Complaining here doesn't help.
I mean, sure its a hell of a long game, it's zelda, ya ya ya.... but it is like a remake of ocarina of time except linear. As a sheep, i think it rightfully deserves gamespot's score. Same goes with halo 3 , it is more of the same, these two games just got great scores because they are from a AAA series.han_186
Because it has some of the best level and puzzle design I've seen in years for any game, because most of the game is passed inside 9 dungeons and not walking around, because it has a fantastic new character Midna, because it has a terrific artistic graphics, because it's controls work very well, because it has great bosses and because it's not as innovative as Wind Waker --- I think Zelda: TP deserves a 9.0, nothing more, nothing less.
So yeah I agree with you that it doesn't deserve the rank it has in gameratings, but I disagree with you on everyting else.

go to the wii forum and look at my topics, go see my reviews, i never owned anything else than gamecube, wii and ds, happy?i want the cel shaded graphics with a different theme, no water theme, plzhan_186
theres a bit in WW (im sure u know) where u can see hyrule underwater. its near the end when ure walking across the bridge towards gannons place. i remember seeing that for the first time and thinking "wow...a zelda landscape that looked like that...that i could explore, would be amazing". yea id love to see the cel zelda with a landscape instead of just sea indeed. WW remains one of the best looking games ever imho.
as for TP...i do agree with gamespot. it does what it does very well...but not much has changed (a complaint i can apply to alot of games though to be honest). some cool items are very underused and the game is just nor classic material overall. it is a great game though. id still recommend it to anyone...id just recommend WW first.
they really do need to start mixing up the formula in zelda...make it more interesting.

Now this is where learning how to read comes into play! where did I say, BECAUSE YOU SAY ITS BAD MEANS YOU DIDNT PLAY IT. I said I know he didn't play it because he claimed it was a remake of OoT and it's not, it's not even close.
I hated Windwaker, and loved TP. But you don't see me making threads about WW saying Nintendo tried to make us hate Zelda.Eponique
I don't hate Windwaker but I'm playing it now and I have to say... I'm not really enjoying it that much. I mean the art style is cool but other than that I just can't really get into it. I'm hoping I'll change my mind as I'm hmm about four hours into the game, but so far it's kinda meh for me.
I liked TP and I think it deserved a 9. Sure it didn't have orchestrated music and voice acting, but I thought it was FAR from an OoT remake. I don't even think the people who say this have played OoT. This game is much different. It has similarities, but it's still much different.
Great, that's your opinion. I think it deserves a 9.5 - that's my opinion (and considering the vast majority of critics [as evidenced by GR] agrees with my opinion I don't know why you'd think yours is more credible.)
I agre with you. I wouldn't even rank it on the top 50 games of all time. Both Halo 3 and TP is massively overrated. TP was a 8.0 game and so it Halo 3, since there are much better choices than those games.
Okami bests TP
Unreal Tournament 3 and Half Life 2 Orange Box bests Halo 3 by far.
