I don't understand why the weekest console has the best sells

The Wii is selling like crazy! I have a Wii, but I really don't understand- it's not really that great. I haven't touched mine in probably a month or two, other than to play Punch OUt! And it sales by far the best.

The PS3, on the other hand, has by far the best hardware. Reliable, blu-ray, the Cell, usb ports, bluetooth, standard hard drive, free online, free wifi, and the best lineup of 2008 and 2009, and it is not salling nearly as good as the Wii.

What is wrong with people????? Why can't they see what is by far the best console ever released, hardware wise? And I am not even going to go into the games! I wish I could go on tv and scream at all these kids buying the Wii.

Why do DVDs outsell Blu-Rays? Blu-Rays look alot better. I don't understand it.

We don't know much about the true lineups for 2009.

Microsoft tends to not keep people waiting for too long.

Besides, the wii has some appeal to it that makes it pretty fun.

I had a really good time last night with a party I had, and I loved it and definitely felt a lot better about my purchase.

Besides, having the best sales doesn't necesarily mean its the best.

Nor does having the best hardware or capabilites.

Nor does having the best game library.

What matters and what makes a console the best is how you use it, and how much it matters to you.

SURPRISE!!!!!! People dont care that much about the PS3, its a good system (i own one) but the majority doesnt give a crap about it.

There were some consoles that were better for other things.

Wii targets a different audience than any of the other systems, casual gamers, that just like having fun.

They really don't care if somebody has bitmapping on their face, or if the textures on the wall look realistic, or if everything obeys the laws of physics. They just want to have fun and use it to be social.

That's why nintendo will dominate this generation completely, and it's a good thing they're making the video game industry open to more funding and more creativity.

The question was why is wii selling more than other consoles. I think that helps answer that question.

When it comes down to it...The reason the Wii is winning is games. You could say the controller but you need the games.

Wiisports, SMG, SSBB, Mario Kart, and Wiifit all have sold high millions

They may not be the games you like but it seems most people disagree with you because they are buying them.

The Dreamcast was not more powerfull than the PS2, just research the specs. The dreamcast could handle larger texture files and had a better cooling system then the PS2 and thats about it (and thats pretty impressive btw)

Even if the Xbox 360 can generate more sales due to its $199 Arcade version, it will not supersede the Wii because price point is not the sole reason why the latter is the current-generation console sales leader. Other reasons for the sales are due to word-of-mouth, media coverage, a broad demographic, etc.

And one thing: what is wrong with gimmicks? Not all of them are bad, in fact, some are what they claim. If the Wii Remote is a gimmick then what can be said about the Sixaxis or Blu-Ray on the PS3?
