I dunno about final fantasy 13

So i just watched the trailer. I've played videogames for awhile now, and ive often defended them as a medium for conveying a unique storytelling experience. I cite games like the bioshock, mass effect, deus ex, and even the minimalistic half-life series. Unfortunately, a game like this comes along and everyone praises it for its story and even its writing. I know its a translation, and the beauty of a language is apparant only in that language. However, this is cliche garbage; with borderline pedophyllic art, rediculous gasping sound effects, and what ammounts to little more than a tribute to a western influenced errosion of popular culture. Oh and the games mechanics seem borderline archaic in this day and age. Not too mention the transition from cgi to gameplay is jarring.

What I wanna know is how old that girl is. Snow looks like he's 22 and she looks half that.

it's a FF game, so no matter how much you complain, you will get it eventually.

i feel like the voice acting is the worst thing abt this game, it's that bad.

I'll never understand what it is that makes Final Fantasy one of the most divisive franchises in all of gaming.

TC, FF13 is my most anticipated game by far. If it's not your cup of tea, fine. Why should you care if different developers cater to different audiences?

I've been playing the FF series since FF4 hit the States on the SNES and I have to disagree with TC. Plus it is a RPG from a Japanese dev what do you expect? Have you ever played FFX, theTales of games and most NIS/Gust games?

OMG the dialogue is sooooo bad. they some how manage to put every cliche love story/drama line into this game. Honestly it was so excruciating hearing them talk about some generic "problem" we've seen so many times b4.

Its basically Final Fantasy turning into a soap opera. What could possibly be a bad one. However, I think there's a good chance it will be great. We'll see.

Final Fantasy XIII doesn't have "archaic" gameplay; it's something new. Of course, you probably know very little about XIII and just did this to troll.

Anyways, Snowe is probably in his early 20s and Serah plans to go to university next year, so she very well could be 18 even.

gamers have low standards in the storytelling and plot no offense. the only thing why games have bad/generic stories because most gamers are satisfied with these kinds of stories. Therefore, the companies would think why improve the story? it will cost more yet not generate more sales. There are a few that have good stories but they're usually unpopular. Dreamfall comes to mind.

great stories can improve a game depending on its genre especially the RPG department. you saying "doesn't stop them from being good." just shows how gamers have low standards in the story department and how they don't care at all resulting to no actual development of storytelling in games and even hindering it.

Its actually an inside joke with my friends about how everything is so over acted in the dub to the point where it sounds like a cheesy plot filled soap opera lol. Not that I think itsgoing to be bad or anything, it just might annoy me like any part of the Aeris/Cloud relationshio in 7.But I would hope your grandma isn't watching soap operas about caccoon and star wars like architurre and battles :P

I don't really care how bad the voices sound. Im getting it no matter what. Japanese voices would be nice, but what ev.

I must applaud SE though. Nearly all the guys I seen actually look like guys from what I remember. But then there's the hair.

Well FFX didn't have great voice acting and I still thought it was amazing. This gen has been lacking in great RPGs of this style, so I'm really looking forward to it.

It's kinda annoys me when people say that.We know nothing about versus.All we have is 2 trailers.Yes I'm really looking foward to it but it's impossible to say it's going to or is looking better when we have zero information on it.
