Well,iOS isn't intended for serious gaming, there are hardly any gamers that play exclusively in iOS.Those games are intended as distractions to kill time while waiting for something, and that's it.You won't use iOS for more "organized" gaming...
You really don't have anything to feel "bad" about :?
So we gonna pretend the games aren't improving as years pass by. We got Angry Bird in the early days, and now we get AAA games from Epic, and Dungeon Defenders, etc. The future is tablets for all things. Key: Current hardware limitation, but future = replacement for PC, console, handheld. The world is waiting for the other big boys to jump in (Intel, nVidia).

Infinity blade 2? I could have played punch out years ago. Visuals in such a on-rails game don't impress me.So we gonna pretend the games aren't improving as years pass by. Like mentioned above iOS games are basically distractions while waiting at the Drs. office, or while getting the oil changed in your car. They are serious games to people who think games like Farmville are serious games.
IOS is not built for hardcore gamers. When I'm on the go, I tend to want to surf or listen to music a lot more than play games. If I am playing games, I don't want cinematic adventures. I want word warp, or tetris, or coin drop. Something that is fun for literally two minutes.
So don't feel bad for IOS gamers. They are most likely not your game hobbyists.
I can play a game on my iPod, but It really does blow.
I played Sonic All Star Racing on there recently and at first I thought you had to hold the screen button down to move. Nope, it's practically all Auto.

You can customise the controls on there so it you can have accelerator buttons as well as brakes. It's really up to you.

Are you sure? I'm sure I saw some! I only bought it for my nephew so I've scarcely played it. I'm sure there was an option though. I'll have to take your word for it, I've been playing Final Freeway instead.
Exactly, there are only iOS douchebags, no gamers. iOS got no games. :cool:THere is no such thing as an ioS gamer

lol "ios gamers"
As much I love tablets and smart phones they will never be a gaming platform in my eyes.
i don't think the iOS gamers who don't think of themselves as gamers really care about what us gamers in system wars say about them.

yeah the only controls are Option A and Option B.
They change the postion of the Buttons and Steering.
Gas is automatic.
Mobile games are designed to be played on the go, unlike the majority of handheld titles that seem to just be inferior console like experiences. MFDOOM1983like Peace Walker right?
like Peace Walker right? I've never played PW so I can't comment on mission structure, but the one thing I've always heard was that the controls were bad on psp. Having a second analog stick remedied this problem. Some of these handheld games feel shoehorned onto the platfroms.[QUOTE="MFDOOM1983"]Mobile games are designed to be played on the go, unlike the majority of handheld titles that seem to just be inferior console like experiences. It's simply not enough for anyone all that into gaming as a hobbie, and they fool themselves thinking otherwise. The best games on the app store are 5 minute distractions, tops. Perhaps that fills a nieche, when I've already checked facebook to chop some fruit while waiting for my order to be taken but anything longer? please. If i've got even 15 minutes than why the hell not get in some Mario Kart? I'm typing this on an iPad, and listening to music on my iPhone. I love these devices to death and cannot imagine life without a tablet or smartphone anymore. but I also have a 3DS and Vita on docks right beside it. Which one am i going to be spending the most time with tonight? surely not a marathon session of Infinity blade when I can play MGS2. I challenge any System Warrior to give me a game that can hold my attention for as long as Metal Gear, or Kid Icarus. With the limited control possibilities, I'm not sure it can be done. Please, prove me wrong. darkspineslayer
Bleh. I had fun playing Dead Space on a friend's iPad.
This is just stupid, there are not better games on phones. The sad thing is there are better games on the ios then the vita

It's pretty sad really. I cringe whenever people I know pull out their phones and start "gaming."YoshiYogurtsorry. when im on vacation and away from my pc, i like to pull out my itouch and play gta3 and max payne during my flights. but dont mind me. i just want to play some good ole remakes and other fun little arcade games on my break from my high-end rig and the hundreds of games i have on it.

That is all good stuff, but I'd rather play it with a mouse or controller. On long trips I prefer my 3DS for portable games.

The ones I've bolded are deep games that you can drop hours upon hours into. I mean, you can drop hours into a lot of them if you find them fun, but those games are RPG's with stat building, character building and stuff like that. To get all those games for free is pretty good.
You're someone who's seriously into your hobby, and has the devices, so I feel bad for you. Because if all you could find on iOS were some "five minute distractions", you've massively failed. santoronFunnily enough, A phone and a tablet have many other uses that I bought them for.
While I do use my iPhone and iPad for games, it's not their primary function. Though there have been a fair few good games to play, they have been touch and swipe, and not anything that requires gamepad control. Those games never work quite as well as they should.
I still prefer a real controller, or KB and mouse.

As does my PC. But I didn't play a few flash games on it and decide I had to make a thread dismissing the entire platform. :|
