I bought a Wii on the weekend, and yes, the Wii-mote nostalgia has worn off over the days of playing it. It is true, the Wii-mote does become stale after a while.

Then I realized that it only becomes stale playing the same games, and only if you play by yourself. If you have friends over, its a different experience everytime you play depending on who you're playing with. So I've come to a conclusion for the "Wii mote is a gimmick" argument; haters who are using this statement have no friends. They use this as a lame excuse for the Wii being obsolete because they do not have any friends to play their Wii with to experience its full potential. Either that, or they have not played games that use the Wii-mote in other, more unique and fresh ways of gameplay.

End of argument.

The Wii-mote only becomes "stale" after you beat a game and have completely finished it, and then don't want to play it again. And then... it will get stale, along with the worn out game at your side... like all games do after you finish them and have experienced their pleasure.

Unless it's one of those "I never get board of this game" games.

its fun at first but when i started to hate the wii mote/ wii is when after a while ive playing games it continues to consistently mess up at times and not do exactly what i want to do. For example no how many identical swings i make in tiger woods at least a few of them well respond badly even though the swing is good. if u flick your wrist the swing will sometimes be better. I play my ps3 and 360 way more because when i hit a button and move with the control pads i know it will do exactly what i want it to...

but your right the wii is fun when friends are over, but thats allll i use it for now

Its not a Gimmick its just not a good system for a single person to play, I know I dont got time to have friends over all the time and sometimes I just want to relax by myself and play fun games on my time off and with the Wii it doesnt really offer much for me. I have been saying this ever since I got a Wii, its a great party console but a horrible regular console.

About 70% of the time I would play a regular console it would most likely be by myself playing single palyer or whatever then Id have 30% of the other time with friends in co-op or stuff like that. So although a party console like the Wii is extremly fun with friends its not a very solid system for most average gamers to hardcore gamers that like to enjoy hours playing games like Bioshock that have no multiplayer and just an awesome campaign.

Yeah, whenever friends are over and gaming is what we are doing, it's on my brother's Wii, not on my 360 or PC. Otherwise, it's not played much. Which is why I think it isn't worth $250.

Alright! I'm christian btw if anyone reads this and yells Blasphemer! Back to topic: Seems like people here like the Wii when playing with friends, except for TP naturally.

The Wiimote is not gimmicky, but what is poor is how Nintendo releases Zelda and then has a draught of games that cator to the "Hardcore" crowd (Read: Not women or technology-ignorant adults).

The crappy part of the Wiimote is how it takes 5 hours to get four controllers connected to the console. My friends and I just end up popping in Wii Sports just because it connects the controllers easier. I don't even want to go into how I spent an hour trying to get my controller to connect just to play Zelda.

The Wii is overrated, and I don't even have to go into its online features to back it up. There, I said it. People I know who have it, play it every once in a while... and even then, only for party games. After a month of Wii Sports the system loses its flare until 8 months later. If it weren't for Corruption, Brawl, and Galaxy I'd have sold the Wii on eBay and bid my farewell to Nintendo.

Fact: The first NES controller was called a gimmick because it used arrows. And many so called expects said that that the NES would not last because of it controller.

Still a gimmick

Halo 3, 4 player co-op, voice chat, play with anyone in the world any time of day, and day of week.

The Wii can only cry at this in the fetal position. It cannot do.

Try to make a reasonable thought to your incentive of saying i was only reading the first few sentences. Then maybe ill understand your thinking and why you conjured such a resolve.
