Here's the thing, Sony is now offering HD movies for you to purchase. And it looks like buying these HD movies on the PSN is cheaper that buying hard Blu Ray copies of these discs. So it's like they're literally hurting themselves all the time or something.

And losing the exclusivity for their prize possession called FFXIII cuts deep into the heart, emotion, and soul. You can not heal from that even in time.

Exactly. When I heard that FFXIII was coming to 360, the first thing I thought was 'ouch'.

People please stop saying that BluRay won format war. It actually lost or loosing. Do you know the winning format?

It is ... ta da... download (legit and non) and on-demand!

It took too long for BluRay become cheap to replace DVD, (I mean it is still much more expensive than $100), with broadband and FIOS becoming more and more accessible, this is the way of the future and already of today. Netflix on XBox360, AppleTV, on-demand/on-command will kill BluRay as a movie distribution media in price and convenience. I mean all you need to see as example is what happened with music industry to understand that I am right.

Internets FTW!

Credible sources and links?

About what? Internet? On-demand?

I wasn't even aware that DVD was counted as a player in the war.

You can't discount it just because it's winning

I guess, but I always thought that the format war was to decide what format would be the successor to DVD.

True

Sources supporting your claim that Digital download is killing bluray.

Music industry can't be compared to video industry. For what I know, music is only a few mb and the storage media (ipod, zen etc) already exists to put them in to listen. Video is different. Majority of the people want the hardcopy rather than downloading the softcopy. Many debates regarding digital downloads vs bluray has been made and all have only come to a conclusion that it will not destroy bluray.
