No more wasting my time trying to enjoy primitive online games like MoHH2, when clearly i have MUCH better choices available to me on the 360 or even my PS3.

I don't want to flail my arms around while playing a game. The gimmick wears off quickly. You're barely controlling any of the characters movements.

SSMB and Mario Kart are some of the reasons i got rid the the Wii. Its just GC all over again. I admit, one game i wanted to play was No More Heroes, but i predict it will flop anyway. After that, i can not find ONE game i really want to play on the system for the remainder of the year. This was the best time to rid myself of this system. Videodogg

Agreed. It's just the Gamecube with a different, albeit, dumber control scheme. And the GC's control scheme was pretty damn stupid in the first place. Haha. Still a great system, though. I can't just let myself buy a Gam...err...Wii, though, when I know that all the supposedly good games out for it are basically on the GC right now.

Ive spent quite a few drunken/high hours playing the Wii. The parts where they try to put a huge emphasis on the using the Wii's controls are stupid, lack fun, and are just a waste of my time. The best part of Wii games are the parts where you don't have to do much with the Wii controls and you just play it like you play a video game.

Exagerration? Yes. But when the motion sensor aspect of the controls does little to nothing to enhance the gameplay of it except to just basically tell the user, "Look what we can do while simultaneously making your game uglier and less fun", I DO NOT see the point of it.

The fact is, even on the BEST GAME on the Nintendo Wii system, the best parts are the ones where you simply play the game, and they're not trying to forcefeed the Wii's idiotic control system gimmicks on you. You may proceed to leave.

You don't even have an argument, much less "meat."

All you've said is "I don't like the motion controls parts" and "the Wiimote is a gimmick."

Traditionally, arguments are backed up by good evidence--not "I don't like that, so it's bad." And seeing as this is nothing more than opinion, you can't do anything of the sort.

No, it's perfectly fair to pick up on that part. You say that Wii games require "flailing", that the parts using the Wii's controls are "stupid, lack fun, and are just a waste of time", and you say you're "barely controlling any of the characters movements". You then say your experience with the Wii is limited to times you were drunk or high, things which impare motor function, timing, and judgement. Hm... think there might be a connection? So can you really blame him for thinking you might not be too qualified to comment on the Wii? Also, for an example of how great Wii controls can really enhance a game, play Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 (while sober!). Stuff like manning the machineguns, using the rocket launcher, finding mines with the mine detector... stuff like that which involved a bunch of motion controls are much better than just doing it with an analogue stick. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the aiming controls are brilliant.

yeah I was hyped up for the Wii, I was enthralled by the graphics and gameplay of red steel and imagining how awesome Zelda and Metroid would be with the new controller that I waited 18 hours over the span of two days dealing with a creepy old dude who kept talking about how Linux was God's gift to man and how his imaginary grandchildren would love the system but when I got it I drove like a maniac an hour to my house to play, and for about four or five months, I was happy, I kept hearing about all the games coming out and how some graphics look great and didnt mind the horrible the graphics were and there were times where I truly felt like I was in the game, the Godfather and Red Steel were the two games that made me feel really immersed, but then I got sick of it, I got the component cables, nothing, Im not a graphics whore but there were some games where the bad graphics were insanely distracting and for about three months I only used it to go online when the computer was taken. I played Gears of War at a friends house and I was hooked adn totally enthralled for it, a few weeks later I bought my own 360 with Gears of War and Oblivion and havent touched the Wii since. I been too busy playing Halo online and enthralled by the immersive stories andworlds of Mass Effect and Bioshock, and I dont miss the Wii, I dont hate it, games are meant to be enjoyed, and if you like the wii, great, but to me the controller started to feel like a gimmick and I felt embarrased by some of the games I bought so that I would hava something to play on the wii (the godfather, call of duty 3, madden especially) but Im glad I switched, the 360 hasnt broke down on me since I got it about 8 months ago and its great. just my two cents

I was mentioning that because the times in which I usually find myself playing the Wii is in "party situations" where you have been drinking or passing blunts or whatever. I never said that it was the only time in which I played the Wii. The only Wii games I've actually played sober are SMG and LOZ:TW. Both times I was left thinking, "This would be so much better with a GC conroller." I think my comment about it lacking fun and being a waste of time are accurate, as the parts in the game in which you were required to use this "innovation", were just pretty dumb and a waste of my time. Especially when I did such things as aiming Link's arrow perfectly fine on the Wind Waker on Zelda. I just beat WW for the umpteenth time a few days ago(Indeed my favorite Zelda game, ever, maybe even my favorite game ever), and I actually realized how good i was at aiming that lil **** arrow at the big shadow monster thing's tail at the end of the game. It was simple. This however, is simply unneeded. I mean, it's cool at first, pulling it back and doing all that jazz, but it just wears off after a while, I think. The Wii, in my opinion, is a step back for gaming. I cannot say that I have played MOH:H2, but I doubt it would be as enthralling of an experience as COD4, my current fav. Yet, I will give it a shot the next time I'm with my friend who owns that little system. I hope you prove me to be nothing more than a babbling idiot. I want nothing more than for Nintendo to do well. I grew up playing their systems with my father everyday after school. They just disappointed the hell out of me with the Wii, however. I just hope they come out with more games that actualy utilize the controls fully, like how you say MOH:H2 is doing. Because, right now, it just seems like nothing more than a gimmick to get grandma's to come get their work out on.

Agreed. If you create a system like this, you have to be thorough with it. If you make such a leap, you have to be ready to deliver things that are more than a bunch of mini-games. I want a nice story-line, with good action, and just a beautiful setting. I'm waiting for the Wii to deliver it's own Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed. Something completely immersive. I'm probably going to end up buying it down the road just so I can play and beat Super Mario Galaxy on my own, but that's just because I'm an OMP(obsessive mario player). I hope Nintendo can deliver this next year, cause in all honesty, I'd be more than happy to just throw more of my cash at them if they give me something worth buying.

It's basically a list of every single flame that Lemmings and Cows use to flame the Wii with, paraphrased in sentance form, and used in the context of a "why should you sell your Wii" story, with the intent of sounding like an unbiased Wii owner who just realized all these things were true without any help from these forums.

It's an anti-Wii advertisement, it's obviously fake, biased, and purposefully decieptful.

Posts like these are why System Wars has no credibility, unfortunately.

Watch:

"I sold my PS3 because it has no good exclusive games, and hasn't sold any copies. I hate Blu-Ray, and its a terrible waste of money for a jazzed up DVD player, with a terrible online aspect, and once again, no good exclusive games. The exclusion of rumble is just icing on a crappy cake, or in this case, a dustbox, which I haven't played since launch. The best game on the system is a crappy 360 port with worse graphics and an unplayable framerate, and most of the big 2008 exclusives aren't even confirmed for 2008. I'm tired of waiting. I'm free and I'm happier for it."

"I sold my 360 because it RRoD'd and after 2 months I got it back and it RRoD'd again. I'm selling it tomorrow to buy a PS3. The games were ok, but they're mainly shooters that I could play for cheaper and with more content on my computer. The vast majority of XBL subscribers are children, which I hate, though I would enjoy them more, if XBL actually worked 4 months out of the year. The 2008 lineup is pathetic, and I, along with everyone else should sell their 360 and buy a PS3 right now.

Wow, if you bought those kinds of games, you did yourself a favor by selling your Wii. Maybe someone else who knows what to buy will get a chance to enjoy it.

Hmm right before No More Heroes, SSBB and Mario Kart.

What a FANTASTIC time to sell ur wii.

Yeah and the wii is not evil. I find that Nintendo games are still better than everything else.

Oh and I guess you wont be playing the next Zelda or Paper Mario then. Honestly the wii will have some unbelievable games in its lifetime and I would NEVER consider selling it.

mysticmike01

OH GOD! A new Mario Kart game??? YAAAAY!!!! Oh man, I wouldn't live without another game involving plumbers, toad-headed freaks, and tiny dinosaurs racing on go-carts around a way too colorful world. I just love it. Seriously, though....Mario Kart was fun back on the 64. Back then I was younger and played it every day after school with my dad. When Double Dash came out, we got that, and it just didn't stick like the other one did. It's just not fun anymore. The SSB games continue to decline in gameplay as each issue comes out. The more complicated and the more stupid character ideas they continue to add, the worse the game gets. Not even going to comment on NMH. But the last Zelda and Paper Mario games just came out. Like...it would have to be a while before the next ones come out. If I really want to play Twilight Princess, I'll rent it on my Gamecube, which will go down in history as Nintendo's last great system. I don't want to flail my arms around while playing a game. The gimmick wears off quickly. You're barely controlling any of the characters movements. You're trading in a substantially better looking game for something that BARELY enhances the gameplay at all, and sometimes even makes it worse. The parts in Super Mario Galaxy where the whole innovative bull**** about the Wii comes into play are the worst parts of the game. No thank you. Not worth the time or money.

Mario Kart DS says hello. The series was made far better because of online play and Mario Kart Wii will likely be the best installment of the series so far.

'The SSB games continue to decline in gameplay as each issue comes out. The more complicated and the more stupid character ideas they continue to add, the worse the game gets.'

K, there have been TWO SSB games. The first was good, the second was awesome and SSBB looks to be even better. How can anyone justify selling a wii right before this seminal title is released?

'Not even going to comment on NMH.'

Why not? Looks to be a solid game with a real edge to it. Rather looking forward to trying it out.

'I don't want to flail my arms around while playing a game. The gimmick wears off quickly. You're barely controlling any of the characters movements. You're trading in a substantially better looking game for something that BARELY enhances the gameplay at all, and sometimes even makes it worse. '

Ok, you actually make a good point here. To be honest I dont really think the waggle adds that much to the gameplay but the fact is that the games are STILL Nintendo games. To me, this fact alone makes them superior to any 'next gen' experience, even with the sometimes unnecessary wii mote useage'

'The parts in Super Mario Galaxy where the whole innovative bull**** about the Wii comes into play are the worst parts of the game. No thank you. Not worth the time or money.'

I enjoyed those sections. Really helped to keep up the variety in gameplay.

Ok. To be honest I'll admit that the wii was not exactly what I was hoping for from Nintendos 7th gen console. However, the wii is the only platform that plays my beloved Nintendo games. Nintendo > anything else and always will be in my book. Anyone that misses out on these wonderfulgames just because they dislike the hardware is really quite unfortunate imo.

there is no reason tofear new experiences. It's a great second console and a great party machine with some excellent games for hardcore gamers. You make it sound like all Wii games are the same.

I think you should be less of a drama queen and more of an open minded gamer. no offence.

For 1 year i burdened myself with the evil Wii. I tried to convince myself that the games were fun and the motion controller was innovative. I struggled through blurry graphics and dozens of "party" games and unusable controls features to adapt to Nintendos retro casual vision of the video game world.

But i broke free. I sold my Wii over the weekend....and now i feel.........great.

No more staring at walls of shovel ware and wondering if i i should waste $20 on that new pool, bowling, fishing, duck hunting or dog or cat training game.

No more buying a multiplat EA sports game and trying to convince myself, that despite the crappy graphics, the game play is somehow better because of the Wiimote ( when in fact its much worse ).

No more wasting my time trying to enjoy primitive online games like MoHH2, when clearly i have MUCH better choices available to me on the 360 or even my PS3.

I am Free.

You acutally bought those cruddy games. No wonder you didn't like the Wii.

I have about 10 games, and non-of them are multiplat's or shovelware, or party games.

OH well.

I pretty much wrote off any hope for this thread after i saw the comment about struggling through dozens of party games. why did he buy dozens of party games if he doesn't like them?
