Haha... funny, yeah i dont see anything wrong with dlc, but my question with two kids a career and a mortgage is how the hell does anyone have time to play it all?!? Ive pretty much restricted myself to only getting dlc to the true gems this generation. Its my way of policing myself.[QUOTE="TheEroica"][QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"]Oh no, optional extra content for those that want it is available, WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! :cry:heretrix
Yeah, you have to do that. Most of the stuff isn't all that good anyway.
Borderlands 2 is pretty good though. I'm not really against DLC as a thing, but I really hate how some publishers use it. I think the way Gearbox did this was on the level. It was a pre-order bonus which is available to buy if you didn't pre order the game. Everyone has the opportunity to play it without penalizing you for buying it where you want to buy the game. I think retailer specific DLC is bullsh!t.
Yeah i think we chatted about that last week... splintering off the game as store specific pre orders is kinda shiitty. My biggest gripe about dlc is mostly my play style. I usually have the game beat when it comes out and sliding a dlc in the mix usually falls flat for me as my first journey through the game is over. That said, ive really enjoyed some expansions that feel like they have their own voice and not just a small sidequest in the meat of the game. The fallout expansions come to mind along with undead nightmare... Personally though my time available to play limits my dlc desire.... but good dlc ill make time for.[QUOTE="R4gn4r0k"]

depends on your financial situation ;) personally, i'm well off, so i don't mind paying a little more to get games i'm interested at launch. and then get the dlc once it comes out, provided i like the game enough. My GAWD the things people cry about.
If a company releases a half-finished game, relying on DLC to fill in the rest, that game is going to get negative reviews from publications/media. Which will deter many people from buying it.
If you buy a game and it sucks so bad without the DLC, return or sell the game for as much as you can possibly get for it and move on. If you buy a game that is awesome without the DLC, be happy. No one is forcing you to buy it. Complaining that borderlands 2 already has DLC is just dumb.

Borderland 2 was release not even a month ago,and already there is a damn $10 dollar DLCtormentosQuestion: Why can't you just enjoy the game you got? Assuming the game gave you your money's worth, and you're enjoying the content that is there do you really need to spend the extra 10 bucks for more?
It started on Xbox and wasn't that huge either. And DLC didn't appear in a ton of games last gen either.thats what i thought, i was quite suprised t find out the DC had DLC, the phrase meant zip to me until this generation, i used to download Mods fo PC but i don't consider that DLC[QUOTE="delta3074"]How come he didn't hate last gen when DLC first Became popular on consoles?mitu123

This gen just sucks period.PSP107It's posts like this, and 'I hate this generation', that make me wonder...why are you folks even here?
This is what I do and I like it. If the game is good, I'll get it or try to get it near launch. That way I don't have to wait so many months/years for a complete/GotY edition (if they even bother to make one).
Whenever the DLC start showing up and I believe it is not worth the asking price, I wait for the DLC to go on sale.
Buy Good game at near full price. Wait for DLC to get on sale. I win :) Much better than having to wait for a complete edition and it's cheap too.
Note*: This is for PC. On consoles, DLC rarely, if ever, go on sale. So I guess this won't work in that closed-up world.

None of the systems this gen are the best ever sadly.

There has been plenty of great stuff this gen. I started gaming since NES, the games you just listed below is laughable.
1: you know nothing about next gen
2: the reason why DLC comes day/ month or so after release is because in development. There must be a cut off point to add more content for time to fix bugs, Then once the game goes gold and sent off to mass produced and shipped. parts of the team has nothing to do SO why not work on dlc?
I kinda find dlc good for the team even though i don't normaly buy them. Because in some studios some devs and that are let go or forced take time off because there is NO work

I don't understand the problem with DLC as long as it's not on disk.
I love how companies can add in more characters or levels or modes later on and it makes the game better.
Just seems like common sense; if you like a game, why wouldn't you want more of it?
that borderlands DLC was actually free if you pre-ordered and wasn't ready when the game came out, and free DLC is more than fair.
Threads like this are why I don't tell people I'm a gamer. Ever. Gamers are stereotyped as whiny and immature, and this thread shows it to be true.

I see there are a lot of people on here who obviously think they are entitled to everything Free, it's there product if they want to charge people for Extra content then more power to them, it amazes me how many people seem to think they have the right to tell Developers how to run there business, DLC is optional, it's extra stuff, yo don't have to buy it to get the full experience of the game, people Act as if DLC is taking away from the games itself, it's not, it's adding to the game, if you don't like it don't buy it but it's nice to have the option ther if you so choose.delta3074I would say there are plenty of arguments for why DLC isn't really adding to the game, as much as it's stuff that would have been in the game lets say the previous generation. Admittedly some stuff is more expansion/deleted content that got turned into dlc type stuff. But the rest of the post is spot on. You definitely can learn to work around the DLC stuff these days. There are just so many options games wise, and enough options on when and how to buy your games for a lot less than paying 60 bucks and the 10 bucks for the DLC.
