I'm looking into getting a next-gen system, the only problem is that everywhere I go there is some sort of bias for one system or another...

Any one know where I can get some sort of opinion that isn't bias...I know this is practically impossible to find but I figured I would give it a shot

I would tell you that the 360 is the console to buy because it has everything. Good online, good games, and a good controller. The problem is, the consoles are very unreliable.

The PS3 is a nice console, and well built, but it doesn't quite have the games to back it up yet.

The Wii is exactly what you see. The games look nowhere as good as PS3 and 360, but they're fun.

Also Sonata Arctica rocks man.

As an anti-manticore, here's what I think:

PC:  expensive beyond belief.  You're looking at $800 for a high end machine.  And it has few if any racers, fighters, and action platformers.  I wouldn't invest that kind of money into something that will be obsolete in 4 years.
PS3:  $600 expensive.  Few good games.  Even fewer good exclusives.  Blu-ray is nice, but the controller sucks.  I don't like the small size, lack of rumble, and odd L2/R2 triggers.  I wouldn't even think about the PS3 for another 2 or 3 years or until it's $300.
360:  $400 mildly expensive.  It's got great games.  It brings nothing new to gaming, but offers the best online.  It's my second recommendation after....
Wii:  $250 with a free game.  If you don't take your gaming too seriously or are looking for something new, this one is for you.  It's got few high quality games right now, but many many more are coming.  The graphics now are Cubeish, but will eventually rise slightly beyond Xbox1's.  I recommend it.

What I would suggest:  Get a Wii now.  In a few years if you want something else, get a 360.
If you have the money, get both a Wii and a 360 (which is the best arrangement).

I've got a 360 and a Wii, and I am currently mad at the Wii since the graphics are crap. Seriously though they should at least look better than Resident Evil 4 or Ninja Gaiden.

Unbiased opinions aren't opinions at all... You will never hear a truly unbiased opinion... You most create your own opinion to be most satisfied.

Be mad at the developers not the Wii...

Wii - Currently a great party machine. wii sports was the life of several parties I took my wii too. It has an ever increasing 3rd party support and judging from early sales could have a promising future. Just don't be looking for Uber graphics on it. 360 - Solid graphics, fun games and currently best selection of games. Xbl add good multiplayer as well as soem good downloadable games. IMO currently the safest console to buy. PS3 - a great media center and good graphics. Most expensive but worth the price. Selection of games is currently low, but it does have some good ones. Home should be a good way to interact with people online. PC - Largest selection of games, best graphics(avec decent hardware). IMO best way to play FPS games and only way to play RTS. Pc online is very good. Mods bring a lot to games. p.s. Cant I be invited to the metal union?

...which means you'll have to choose which one for yourself based on what you like about it.

how about your own opinion? what do you want people to tell you? they're just consoles, and they do what consoles do.

360 - best games at the moment for action fans.but most are shooters and the online is great but they charge up the but. theres more variety comin for 360 but who knows how the quality will be, lemmings say it has the best RPG line-up but most games are from unproven devs or unproven IPs ps3 - no games at the moment but has a blu ray player and thats awesome cus blu-ray killed hd-dvd, but it has the most intruiging line-up cus they are bringing sequels to all their biggest hits and have great new games from proven devs like white knight story. so if you liked ps2 then you will love ps3 in a year wii - a secondary console really, if you are a serious gamer then buy this to hold you over till the games you want come out for other systems PC - the best choice of them all because of great free online and mods but you wont get games from the best franchises on any of the consoles, like MGS4, Mario galaxy, tekken 6, GTA4, etc. but it gets most of the 360's best games like gears of war so i'd say go upgrade ur PC. mods alone make PC the best choice because its like you are getting 20 games when you are only buying one.

Well, you're in the wrong place :( The 360 is a really good choice. There's a huge amount of games available and it's really user friendly, not to mention Xbox live and the fantastic ergonomics on everything. The PS3 isn't quite yet worth it, and will probably only appeal to hardcore PS2 gamers who played games like Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid. IF you're one of those gamers, there's no reason not to get one, although the current outlook on exclusive games coming soon isn't too bright. The Wii is a really good budget option, not to mention the Wiimote being a great adition to the gameplay. There aren't really many good games currently, and there are very few good uses of the Wiimote currently, although if WarioWare and Metroid are anything to go by, there will be some fantasic uses in the future. The graphics don't need to be explained really.....the online service is poor, as friends consist of 16 digit numbers, there are no online Wii games, and there aren't any unified friends lists, although there are a constant stream of channels that interact with other Wii users to really good effect (such as the Everybody Votes channel). I hope that was fairly unbiased :(

p.s.  Cant I be invited to the metal union?lycrof

Right now, I'm leaning towards a 360, Like you guys said the PS3 is just to expensive for the lack of good games. The Wii isn't even a option for me, Tried playing one and I don't want that to be my newest system. Even though I might get one later on. I think I will still wait a bit, As I see it every PS3 game I wanted is now coming to the 360, I think I will see whether there is a huge difference in the quality...
