I have absolutely had it with the stupid PS3 maintenance!!!

Anyone else find it ridiculous how frequently PSN goes down for maintenance (feels like once a month), for how long a period it goes down (often 13 hours!), when it goes down (through the day rather than midde of the night and sometime on week-ends) and how little notice they give (often the day before)!

Last time I booked a day off work to play PS3 online all day, they announced the day before that the PSN would be down for the day for maintenance. Now, I was considering taking today off for playing online, and they announcedthat the PSN would be down for the day for maintenance, so I came in to work. These were literally the only two possible days I could have afforded to take off work this year so I am really pissed.

I've never seen this happen on XBL. So on days like this when you want to pretend you have a job and you're doing something with your life -- you'll be able to play online without any issues. = )

haha i just tend to find it hillarious that people come on here and whine bout maintenance yet it all it means is you cant play online or login, what happened to the days of the simple single player or the same room multiplayer (a dying breed).

Anyhoo i lold when tc said he took a day off work just to play PS3..i would honestly keep them for doing much better things than sitting on my ass all day.

Yeah, taking a day off to play Call of Duty or some generic crap all day is not OK. But, like I said if a person wants this the service should be available at least. It wouldn't bother me, because I can find better things to do. We don't know TC's situation so.... We must not judge.

And that is not even nthe worst part of PSN. After a while I completely gave up on installing demos. Another thing that used to happen is when games had large installs.

More ignorance. After I bought Wipeout HD I had to download the demo everytime if I wanted to play the game. I ended up having to clear out my hard drive and restart everything and never got a reason why it happened. I have had trophies show up on my account from games I have never played, and finally....I bought Jet Moto 3 from the PSN store. It was only up for a few weeks than it vanished from my hsrd drive. I went to the store with my U.S. account and Europe account and Jet Moto 3 was not at either marketplace. Called and asked Sony WTF? and they said they reported technical issues and they would fix it than re-release it later. But she could not tell me if I got mine version free, if I would get a refund, and could not tell me the day I bought it. Think about that/ Could not tell me the day I bought it. Money well spent.

It isn't that bad. If you are booking days off to play online, PSN maintenance isn't your biggest problem.
