[QUOTE="Miketheman83"]Ive always preferred Splinter Cell to Metal Gear. The first one was good, they started getting more and more away from good gameplay as the series went on. Speaking of which, I tried replaying MGS3 HD the other month - couldn't believe the amount of cutscenes in the first mission, thought someone was playing a bit of a joke on me :P I remember when they first released Metal Gear 3 with a top down view. I tried to play it but couldnt. How are you supposed to play a stealth game and you cant see three feet on any side of you  They had to re-release the game with a new camera angle. Talk about botching gameplay.[QUOTE="ermacness"]Because MGS4 trumps your preferred game in overall quality. It's called "being bias"

[QUOTE="ermacness"]I'll give you Halo, but giving Gears that achievement isn't that much of a big deal, since there isn't many TPS anyways. No PS exclusives made an impact on the industry like 360 exclusives. Halo revolutionized multiplayer console gaming. Gears standardized the 3rd person cover system, and Forza is the golden standard for sim racers.
PS exclusives are all 8 hour action/adventure games that rely way too heavily on presentation and lack good gameplay.

Motorstorm basically paved way to the massive amount of off-road racers we see today, this gen.
GOW refined action heck-n-slash games today. Just look at NG3(even though they did a poor job of it), and the new DMC. For the sake of reality, GOW even had a blatant rip off by the name of Dantes Inferno.
UC refined cinematic gameplay for this gen.
See, I can do that too.
Motorstorm really? That is the definition of mediocre. Cant believe you even brought it up. GOW hasnt changed a bit since 2005. That type of game is so last gen. Sony fans need to stop living in the past. Uncharted wouldnt be the game it is today if it didnt steal things from Gears.LOL @ your entire post, and train of thought.Motorstorm games have received on a general basis of an AA score(with the very minor exception of Motorstorm 1, in which received a 7.9) with the latest one receiving the SAME EXACT score as your beloved Forza 4. While there were off-road game last gen, they really started sprouting up all over the place this gen AFTER the welcoming success of Motorstorm.
You're right, GOW haven't really changed since 2005 (here's the funny part), but out of the 3 major hack-n-slash games that have been competitng this gen (NG, DMC, GOW), which one of these have been consistent with high scores? I'll wait.
The only thing UC took from Gears was the cover system, and even then, Gears isn't the originators of the "cover system". Killswitch had it long before gears did. It's just that Gears a success with the consumer that featured a cover system.
CHECK!;)

[QUOTE="ermacness"]Your entire post is just poor excuses, and speculations. It's about time you guys get a decent platformer, We've been playing LBP and R&C throughout this gen. Hmmm, I guess Limbo, Super Meat Boy, Splosion Man and N+ dont count...I forgot. You guys have to put up XBLA game to our retail games because your recent retail category is shameful to say the least.[QUOTE="mems_1224"] a two hour game and a car combat game with crappy multiplayer vs an awesome platformer, a sequel to one of the best arcade games ever and one of the most critically acclaimed games from last yearMiketheman83

I'm not saying that it's a bad game (it looks quite fun), but it is a FLOP, and trying to bring score from elsewhere isn't going to change that.[QUOTE="Miketheman83"] Ive been a Splinter Cell fan since the first game. You mean significantly scaled back versions that are INHERENTLY BETTER ON THE PC? LOL YEAH, OK...all I have to say is...you sir are an idiot. Until the 360 starts getting exclusive games period, your argument will STAY invalid xbot. And until the 360 starts getting exclusives even a fraction as AWESOME as PS exclusives, like Uncharted(which leads the way)/Metal Gear Solid/God of War/Heavy Rain/LittleBigPlanet/ ect just to name a few of the many! Only then can we start talking! But I dont play PC games, I play consoles....and if I bought the PS3 I would never have played great games like Left 4 Dead, Splinter Cell or Witcher. Im sorry, but you sir are as delusional as they come. You are the epitome of a brain-less xbot. I don't even know where to begin with you. 1. Many PS3 gamers also have a gaming PC. Just saying....So they aren't missing out on those games, and in fact get to play the truly superior versions of those games. 2. TO BE EXACT, Perfect Dark , before Halo, REVOLUTIONIZED multi-player gaming on consoles. And before that, There were many PC games doing online multi-player gaming fOR FREE, and while doing it better then Halo to boot. But look, Online console gaming or multi-player gaming in general was coming with or without Halo or with or without M$, and was certainly on its way. It was a huge fad, and was picking up steam. It was only a matter of time. But unfortunately, It had to be M$ to take that fad, copy it/rebrand it as "xbl" while adding a fee over what had initially been a free feature(in true M$ slime corporate greed fashion) It would have actually been better if someone else came in the place of M$ to keep online gaming free. Are you telling me you like forking over $60 of your hard earned money YEARLY just in order to play basic online play? Wait, what am I kidding....Your parents pay for your XBL fee, so why would you care? But back to Halo, Halo is the only game to get so much credit for doing what other games were already doing before it. And its not like it did anything that much better. If YOU believe the M$ hype machine, then all I can say to you xbot, is keep deluding yourself , and indulging yourself in that M$ hype machine even further. And.... Who's to say online console gaming has even been a good thing? Look at all the negatives it HAS brought, thanks to xbox live. Immature players, paid extortion fees being forced upon by M$- just in order to play basic online play ect. It goes back to what I was saying earlier. It would've been better without M$ coming along and imitating, repackaging with a fee, and then strangle holding online gaming. 3. Im pretty sure, you even know that KILLSWITCH was doing cover before Gears of War ever came along. But man.....Gears of War blatantly COPIED, almost tic for tack , the mechanics, and cover system of KILLSWITCH. But heres the thing, Gears of War took that, and wrapped that element around into one of the most generic, bland, cliche, and uninspired shooters ever! That's the problem. 4. Forza is nothing but a poor mans Gran Turismo LMAO. And in fact so, WITHOUT Gran Turisno, there IS NO current Foraz(the way it is now) I guess what we can say, is 360 exclusives take ideas from other games, copy them while doing it worse, and all the while stealing all the credit ;) .......honesty, All in all, I will also say, That its its not a race to see who were one of the first to "introduce" this or that. What matters to me, is doing it right, and doing it better! AND thats EXACTLY what PS exclusives do. They get things right, and make their games better over the competition, period. I'll take that! Having said that, never mind what Uncharted brought to the table WITH FULLY PLAYABLE cinematic sequences DONE TO PERFECTION. Let's ignore, how Naughty Dog (with Uncharted) RAISED the bar for video game story telling in the industry. And also in how Naughty Dog (with Uncharted) took presentation in video games to ALL NEW HEIGHT this this gen. LOL 5. And i guess all lems have are casual-ized online shooters with mediocre graphics and lack luster single player campagins. See how that works But the funny thing is MY statement would actually be MUCH closer to the truth then your statement was. But hey, give me Metal Gear Solid 4 or Heavy Rain over any lackluster 360 exclusive with a mediocre SP campagin any day. All in all your trolling failed sir. I'm sorry p.s Read this too! [QUOTE="brofists"] Uncharted 2, and Uncharted 3 both had a total of about 90 minutes worth of cut scenes- to hours and hours of gameplay...and Uncharted 1 had even more of a pro gameplay to cut-scene ratio) What's funny, is that Alan Wake, and Gears have just as many cut-scenes, if not rack up more total cut scene times then any Uncharted game. And they still cant touch the brilliance of a patented and magical Uncharted campagin. There's also Infamous too, 360 fanboy lmao! The PS3 just has a lot more variety of games, and of different types of games, then the 360. Xbots are just mega failing to make any sense lol! But going back to what I was saying about Uncharted 2 & Uncharted 3(both had a total of about 90 minutes worth of cut scenes- to hours and hours of gameplay) That has factually been proven. Its factual evidence. So when you keep make such wild inaccurate statements, Nothing you say can or will be taken seriously Ya' know...the last time I checked, (and just talking about Uncharted 3) -I was in control of Drake while the chatuae began to collapse in a stunning spectacle of destruction by fire (awesome fire ember effects) -I was in control of Drake while the cruise ship I was on had begun to be engulfed by the sea in spectacular, and jaw dropping fashion (some of the most beautifully rendered water I've ever seen in a video game coupled with some of the best water physics I've ever seen in a video game) -I was in control of Drake during the breath taking horse back riding sequence (Just a stunning, and breath-taking moment) -I was in control of Drake when the air plane that I was on was being ripped apart from the seams, in what was one of the greatest, and most epic moments in video game history IMO (All I can say here is "..........?" I tried to talk, but nothing came out, because my jaw was on the floor after just thinking about that playable sequence in U3. I had to pick it up to finish this sentence about Uncharted 3 haha) I mean... All those GAMEPLAY sequences would have been another games major cut scene, but in Uncharted , those events/and or playable set piece moments were its actual gameplay. You actually , for the most part, got to play through each sequence in ACTUAL gameplay. And whats even funnier is that a game like Gears of War 3 , which gets hailed for "having gameplay" actually has the same amount of total cut scene time as Uncharted(like already mentioned) Except that Gears could only dream of offering up the cinematic action that Uncharted does. So how about that? Bottom line, Uncharted has lots of gameplay, And beyond all else, Uncharted gets cinematic gaming right! In fact it does cinematic gaming like no other! And Naughty Dog managed to strike that perfect balance -better then any one thus far has managed(in other cinematic games) Like already mentioned, Nothing on the 360 can touch an Uncharted campagin, WHILE 360 exclusives like Alan Wake, and Gears have just as many cut-scenes LOL M$ and its fanboys fail yet again LMAOBecause correcting a problem is a BAD thing. Next, you guys will be complaining about having to plug up your controllers to charge them.:lol:it's not about correcting a problem it is about being almost positive when you put in a ps3 game you are going to be sitting there watching it do its thing for god knows how long.[QUOTE="ermacness"]

it's like that when you go to play a game that you haven't played in a while on BOTH systems. If I wanna play Motorstorm Apocalypse, I'm 95% positive that there won't be an update to play the game. Now if I go to play R3 (a game I haven't played in a while), I'll have an update to download more than likely. If I go to play MUA 2 on the 360, after not touching it since mid 2011, there's a very high possibility that there will be updates for me to download. That's not only exclusive to PSN.
BTW, you do know that wireless gamepads became a standard THIS gen, right?
[QUOTE="brofists"][QUOTE="Miketheman83"] Conviction was about tight gameplay, MGS4 was about cut scenes. I prefer Conviction.Miketheman83LOL Conviction was like a 4 hour game with lots of cut scenes itself, so what are you going on about lol? Do you even realise, how hard, you are owning yourself xbot? Also, and really just LOL.... Conviction didn't even have gameplay! Let alone good gameplay. When you would mark someone, the shooting would do it self, remember? And the sneaking was as barebones , and as painfully simple as you could get. Metal Gear Solid 4 probably had a little less amount of gameplay sections through its brilliant single player, but when it did have gameplay, the GAMEPLAY that was there, IT CRUSHES the barebones and generic gameplay in Conviction ON EVERY LEVEL. Metal Gear also had an incredible story, and atmosphere, it was an experience! That is something that Conviction tried its hand at mimicking, but failed miserably in doing so. Give me Metal Gear's package over Conviction's 4 hour campagin! The campaign was not 4 hours long. And you had to earn those marks with stealth kills, which brought a little strategy to the game. And the co-op was fun as hell. You couldnt pay me to sit through all those ridiculous Metal Gear cut scenes. Its more like, You couldn't pay me to play through the 4 hour campagin in Conviction again! And that's exactly why I sold it. LOL but its funny, You'll make an excuse to suck the d*ck of anything M$ related, won't you? I mean, im sorry, buy my goodness, you are such a delusional xbot. Yeah, you had to "earn" those marks in Conviction...... BY pulling off pre-baked "takedowns" on dumb guards , with a barebones sneaking mechanic behind it all. *rolls eyes" Yeah, lots of skill involved there. Actually, there WAS NO skill what-so-ever involved throughout any of Conviction's tedious 4 hours of single player LMAO. Unless, you are handi-capped or something, and then yeah, I'm sure it took you a lot of "skill" to "master" in that case lol. Metal Gear 4 had a lot more thought required in sneaking, and of course in how to dispose of guards ect. In Metal Gear Solid 4, you could also go prone, lay down, roll around(army style) and or flip over from your stomach on to your back and vice versa, and it was all at the drop of a hat; and boy were the transitions between each action or position so smooth. AND...... You could even throw gernades or shoot your gun from any of the said positions (back or stomach/crouched/prone/laying down) while also moving from each position to another smoothly(like mentioned) In Metal Gear 4, Once you snuck behind an enemy, which took actual patience, and skill to pull off, You had more options of what to do with the enemy; by either CQC, holding them up, taking them as a shield, chocking them out, patting them down for rewards ect....even having the option to take them down and grapple on the ground .... I mean it shouldn't even be up for debate. The gameplay in Metal Gear Solid 4 is so much more sophisticated , fun, thoughtful, rewarding and varied, THEN the barebones and poorly implemented gameplay in Conviction. You could do A LOT MORE THINGS in Metal Gear Solid 4, and you had more options during gameplay, By the way, did i mention that you also had more options in weapons, and in mods...ect There was a ton of stuff to the game, and a ton of things you could do. But most importantly, the sneaking mechanics in Metal Gear Solid 4 actually took skill, and patience to begin with. All the while the guards had good A.I so it made it challenging. The camouflage suites/ camouflage masks i.e and the way they instantaneously changed textures to match the environments(you touched) during gameplay made a difference in the sneaking as well, and added a whole lot more to the gameplay. Metal Gear Solid 4 BLOWS AWAY Conviction in every level of gameplay, graphics, and story. AND IF anything, Conviction is like a dirty, and watered down BOOTLEG of Metal Gear 4/espionage action. Metal Gear Solid 4 is so pristine. To even drive home that point EVEN further, You could play Metal Gear Solid 4 which ever way you prefered. And each way was rewarding, and was done very well in itself. As a shooter, or by sneaking around ect. And you could even switch from third person view to first person view(and snipe) Where as Spinter Cell was limited to one type of bare-bones style of play, in where also half the shooting LITERALLY DID ITSELF. EVERYTHING in Metal Gear Solid 4 was fun as hell, more fun then anything in Conviction for damn sure. You should actually try playing it, instead of blindly hyping up anything and everything M$ related like an xbot

No matter which one you perfer, there is no denying that BOTH Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 were quality games. BOTH make for excellent entrys into the awesome Uncharted series. Anyway, What's funny is that Gamespot was only ONE of FIVE (out of over 50) again, they were ONE of only five websites to score Gears 3 higher then Uncharted 3. While, Over like 44+ websites in total scored Uncharted 3 higher then or equal to Gears 3(while over 21 websites flat-out scored Uncharted 3 higher then Gears 3) Hahah, so the critics, and gamers alike spoke, and they said Uncharted 3 was better then the Gears 3. They obviously knew what was up! Gamespot got it wrong! You know it too buddy lol! Here's my proper analogy lol, Uncharted 3 was like the most epic roller coaster ride at six flags. The campagin in U3 was pure quality throughout, it was unadulterated fun, and it super engaging .... And when at its peak, it would offer a gaming high of pure nirvana...then the ride would go back down again, plateau, build tension, then boom... it would rise up again, and take you for the loops of a roller coaster ride! (That's the Uncharted campagin in a nutshell i.e-the most epic roller coaster ride of your life) 10-15 hours of gaming nirvana lol Mean while, Gears of War 3 was like the broken down roller coaster ride at your local farmers market by comparison. Just a complete borefest of a campagin, with poorly done story mechanics, and too many repetitious - strictly shooting style segments. p.s Hey and don't distort and twist what I said! Let me put it back the correct way. So that it makes sense;) I think we can also see here, how the mental illness known as 360 fanaticism begins to corrode the brain of another xbot. As we now see here again with you phazervarience. Your brain is now going PROD. And assuming that you even have played Uncharted 3. You don't have the ability to recognize a great game like Uncharted 3 anymore, because of your illness ;) Its become all too sad. I only hope that one day, you can stop playing garbage esque franchises like Gears, and one day move on to real quality like Uncharted:)

If you cant play games without the internet then you should stop gaming.
Why is everybody so dependent on the internet? Pop in a good single player game & have yourself a good time.
Conviction was a flop on nearly every level. EVEN Splinter Cell fans hated it. You sir, are a delusional xbot, so we can care less what you have to say LMAO Ive been a Splinter Cell fan since the first game. Ive played the Conviction campaign like 4 times now.....[QUOTE="brofists"][QUOTE="Miketheman83"] Conviction was about tight gameplay, MGS4 was about cut scenes. I prefer Conviction.Miketheman83
And its sitting on Metacritic with an 85. Hardly " a flop"
Conviction was pure garbage.
I have never in my life played a game more dumbed down than Conviction. 95% of Splinter Cell was missing & what was left was a casual cover to cover action/shooter game for Cow a Dooty children
It was Gears Of War that allowed you to hide in the dark after your mass murder spree.
If you were truly a Splinter Cell fan you would pretend that abomination of a game didnt exist.

meh it was a fun game[QUOTE="ermacness"]I'll give you Halo, but giving Gears that achievement isn't that much of a big deal, since there isn't many TPS anyways. Forza may be the sim racer king, but only by reviews because sales paint GT5 as the dominant racer, and the sim racer is a niche market (for Forza, at least).[QUOTE="Miketheman83"] But I dont play PC games, I play consoles....and if I bought the PS3 I would never have played great games like Left 4 Dead, Splinter Cell or Witcher. So for someone that doesnt play PC games the 360 is the best choice.

Uncharted wouldnt be the game it is today if it didnt steal things from Gears. I think both systems have great exclusives and don't want to get involved in this whole argument, but you can't deny that Uncharted is an awesome triple A exclusive for the PS3.[QUOTE="dr_jashugan"]Last I checked, the PS3 costs $300 and games cost $60. Well you need to check again buddy, because the PS3 costs 199! And heres the thing, A 360 with a hard drive, which a hard drive is essential, is $300, the games cost 60$, and xbox live is 60$ YEARLY. The PS3 will ONLY cost you what you paid for at the start, while you'll get to play all your games online for absolutely free. The cost of the 360, to play it to its full potential (online) will add up, and over time, the 360 will cost you a fortune . 3 years of XBL is 180$ + buying games for 60$. That's a ton of waisted money, and especially in this tough economy. Its crazy how many lems are willing to take it up the ass from M$. But anyway, that 180$ could've been used to buy even more games. Check this out, You buy a 360 game, and you're unlocked out of half the game, until you adhere to Microsoft's extorted upon 60$ a year fees, just in order to play the basic online play component of the game that is free on every other platform, but on the M$ platform. While, you buy a PS3 game for 60$ and you get the whole game...single player and multi player... ready to go out of the box...no fees involved. Also, I like how lems go on and on about XBLA titles, but the thing is, you NEED a hard drive to download and save XBLA titles. Most of the 360 packages comes gimped without a hard drive. You need to pay 100$ more just for a 360 with a hard drive. While ALL PS3s come with a hard drive. The 360 comes with nothing but fees and fees on top of fees just so to get the most out of all the features. With the PS3 you get what you pay for...NO fees attacheded. The PS3 is a fra greater bang for your buck value then the 360 isPSN is free, so stop whining TC!
