That's a VERY tough thing to do. If you go back and play older games like Final Fantasy 7, you may not enjoy it like those of us who played it 10 years ago. I recommend playing the most recent ones first. But for older games keep in mind the year they came out :).

1.) Legend of Zelda: OOT (everlasting)
2.) Final Fantasy 7 (great characters, story, and rpg management)
3.) RE4 (everything about this game is still great)
4.) Half-life series (HL1 will seem dated, but the pacing and puzzles will be fantastic. HL2 is still very much up to date.)
5.) Starcraft (everlasting)
6.) Halo:CE (great single player)
7.) Super Mario 64 and Galaxy (everlasting)
8.) Deus Ex (great story, decisions, and rpg elements)
9.) STALKER (still very much up to date)
10.) Goldeneye (poop graphics now, but still the testament of why FPS can be great on consoles)
11.) Halo 2 (multiplayer)
12.) Rome Total War (never played it :()

Wow, you've missed out big time. I haven't played 3,5,7 and 12.

I have played some really gigantic and entertaining video games, but I believe that I have missed some good games, that a great deal of people have spoken well of.
These are some video games that I would like to play, because I believe that these are unique and that I would enjoy them. If you have any comments about any of them, let me know. :)

i havent played a lot of those i played half life and didnt like it

halo 2 is good but halo 3 is the same but better resident evil is good too

I actually played the Half-Life demo (the first one), and it was pretty fun, despite the fact that it's 10 years old.

Halo 1 and FF VII are severely overated. Pretty much everything else on the list is great though.WAIW

So Halo:CE is overrated while Halo 2 is not? Wtf? TC, you should play Halo: CE, it's a great game (better on Xbox because of Co-op).

DONT try the PC version, just pick up the xbox version on the cheap, its DEFINATELY worth it
