I have some words for Nintendo

If you guys destory the good looking games on Xbox 360 and PS 3 people will be very pissed.

from my stand point as a consumer looking at the gaming market. it is obvious Wii games are selling like hot cakes compares to most xbox 360 games and ps 3 games. So what i belive the game developers will look at the sell data in their meetings when deciding which next game to make and say to themselves. "it is clear wii games sell so that's a no brainer that we should make our next game on the wii console."

now if that's the mind set of most 3rd partydevelopers, then who the hell si goign to continue making top games for the xbox 360 and the ps3? why spend all those millions of dollars making some amazing looking games when you can make a simple game on the wii and makes way more money off of it. I know not all the developers will think that way especially 1st party developers that...of course...will keep making games for its own console, but i am sure a lot of 3rd party developers looking at the current sales data and is ready to make their next new game will jump on the wii wagon.

Nintendo, i don't know if you see this coming, but i hope you guys do something soon, you guys are the one that created this gaming market and now you're looking to destory a lot of gamers, we want to continue enjoying new and better looking games every few month, and you are making this harder for us.

baseless means i have no points. i clearly made them, cheaper to make the games, sell like hot cakes. seems perfectly obvious why someone would move that way. they clearly stated in articles that have been posted many times that a lot of the third parties are moving to the wii. remember gaming is not what it once was. it used to be a passion, now its a business.

There will always be a demand for high end graphics such as those delivered by Halo and other such franchises. As long as this demand exists, it will be filled. Sure, the market may swing a bit towards the mainstream, and developers may begin kicking out lower quality (graphically) games, but that hole will be plugged quickly if it ever shows up.

The change between producing your metaphorical cakes and plastic containers is a much larger shift than going from a higher quality game to a lower one. Hell, corporations would be overqualified now for that sort of stuff. They could pump out a decent crappy (yes, I did just say that) game much faster than the competition due to the level of experience and resources at play.

Er.. for starters, I'm not even sure if your statistics are correct. I don't stay as up to date on the actual sales numbers as I should, but I don't ever recall seeing a movie game in a top ten sales chart. Secondly, you have to look at the profit companies are reaping from these games. Bratz, which sells for twenty bucks a copy, is still only pulling in a lesser profit ratio than games such as Halo.

i wouldnt say the sims is crap, it scores high on almost every review, and its a reasonably fun game. ive been gaming since i was 7, im 24 now. i played plenty of games like sim coaster, sim theme park, normality, and other silly games of that nature, they were fun. as long as the game is well made, it can still sell well. he meant badly licensed games, which dont sell like the sims, sims is not a licensed game.

You are painfully wrong. First off, the whole idea that "the Wii is destroying gaming" is wrong. The main reason for all the minigame based games is they are easy to make and work well with the Wiimote. No one expected the Wii to sell this well, and it takes time for developers to make games. This time next year we're going to be seeing more "hardcore" games on the Wii from 3rd party developers, not just Nintendo. Second the whole idea that developers like Valve, ID, Bungie, Blizzard, Bioware, Irrational etc. are all going give up their reputations and start developing dime-a-dozen bland, mindless games is incomprehensible.PBSnipes

There will always be a huge market of players who want that kind of experience, and as long as those gamers exist, there will be games to fill that void. Big, epic games with great story telling and amazing visuals...those will always, always exist. Developers like bioware, monolith soft, square enix, RARE, Silicon Knights, Bungie, and even nintendo aren't going to stop making hardcore games. Your concerns arent valid because acording to your "concerns"...final fantasy, metroid, zelda, too human, halo, banjo kazooie, xenosaga, mass effect, and oblivion...among other hardcore games, are going to be replaced with nothing but small, simple games...and if you think that then nothing you say...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...is valid.

that is a good point, i hope it is true. but still there probably wont be as many good looking games. there will still be some, but not as many. lets hope wii 2 comes out soon. HDTVs are selling fast and install base are growing extremely fast since those tv prices are comign down every one or two month by hundreds of dollars.

i would prefer both. the wii doesnt offer both. its not just the graphics. dont physics and AI help gameplay? do you like dumb enemies and things that dont move realistically? its a whole package that helps gaming move to the next level, not just graphics.

Your concerns arent valid because acording to your "concerns"...final fantasy, metroid, zelda, too human, halo, banjo kazooie, xenosaga, mass effect, and oblivion...among other hardcore games, are going to be replaced with nothing but small, simple games...and if you think that then nothing you say...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...is valid.

actually i didnt say they wouldnt make the games, i just said they would use the wii as the platform. and since its not even close to as powerful, the games will suffer in physics, graphics, AI, etc.

This generation of gaming has only just begun. I think the Wii's momentum will slow down soon enough. I think (mostly hope) this generation's consoles will be very close in sales and games. Look at the SNES/Genesis era. That gen had the best games, I think it's because the sales and competition were so close.

hello, McFly? physics, AI and graphics help make a game epic. crappy physics and AI ruin games now, cause the bar has already been set. if you want games without physics and AI, be my guest. i like those in my games. im also a graphics whore, hence the PC

i would prefer both. the wii doesnt offer both. its not just the graphics. dont physics and AI help gameplay? do you like dumb enemies and things that dont move realistically? its a whole package that helps gaming move to the next level, not just graphics.
