hello, McFly? physics, AI and graphics help make a game epic. crappy physics and AI ruin games now, cause the bar has already been set. if you want games without physics and AI, be my guest. i like those in my games. im also a graphics whore, hence the PC

Okay so my favorite hardcore games like Fire Emblem needs physics to help make the game feel epic??? In which the Fire Emblem games are already hard enough!!!!

i am talking about good looking games that most gamers like. games taht takes a lot of development time and looks very good, games like gears of war, halo 3, heavenly sword, uncharted, mass effect, MGS 4 etc. Wii games can never look that good. and since a lot of 3rd party developers goes to wii, there wont' be as much 3rd party developers to make those amazing looking games for the gamers that want them. lets face is peole like good graphics.....that's why u upgrade your graphics card on your pc. that's why you buy a ps2 and not a ps1 or a 360 instead of a xbox.

i would prefer both. the wii doesnt offer both. its not just the graphics. dont physics and AI help gameplay? do you like dumb enemies and things that dont move realistically? its a whole package that helps gaming move to the next level, not just graphics.

i saw, its not that i hate nintendo, on the contrary, i used to love nintendo to death. NES and SNES were great systems and paved the way for some of the greatest games ever to come out.

i would prefer nintendo to push out a strong console instead though. putting out more adult games, not just bloody games, i mean more fun for a older audience. blaster master, metroid(i mean the good metroid, not the garbage first person crap they made now), contra, things like that are more adult games, clasic games that everyone loved.

Forza 2 falls into that category based off all the reviews. PS3 has plenty of games that meet that requirement, PC has a buttload that do also.

People can only buy so many party/mini-games before they get sick of them. Assuming developers go in this direction of ultra-simple games, it's only a matter of time before people stop buying them.

On the other hand, perhaps some developers will be inspired to do things that are completely different and very deep. There are a lot of cool things that developers would want to do with motion/pointing controls,thus creative use of motion will probably come about. I would be more worried about the stagnation brought about by HD systems where developers can just take the easy route and make the same games but with upgraded graphics.

The primary question posed by the Wii is "How can developers make more interesting games?" while HD systemsfocus primarily on"Make games look more like that *points out the window*". An easy way to verify this is by asking "would this be the same game if the graphics were downgraded?". For example, Gears of War and Resistance would be just fairlyaverage games without their great graphics. Cover and fire against competent AI has been done since Half-Life of 1996. Oblivion was really an average game without its graphics, arguably one of the worst of the Elder Scrolls series. Its combat system was still boring, its plotwas mediocre for an RPG, the main questline stank when it got to the 5 or so in a row"fetch these items to create a portal (vague to avoid spoilers)", and its dialogue was overly simple and, in fact, was limited due to technology, that of full voice acting.

The Wii in fact might be beneficial for game complexity because, assuming people initially fall for gimmicky, party/mini games, people will eventually become wise andthe Wiiwon't beable tojust fall back on graphical hype,having to combine more immersive/responsive controlswithgreat features to woo consumers.

There will always be a huge market of players who want that kind of experience, and as long as those gamers exist, there will be games to fill that void. Big, epic games with great story telling and amazing visuals...those will always, always exist. Developers like bioware, monolith soft, square enix, RARE, Silicon Knights, Bungie, and even nintendo aren't going to stop making hardcore games. Your concerns arent valid because acording to your "concerns"...final fantasy, metroid, zelda, too human, halo, banjo kazooie, xenosaga, mass effect, and oblivion...among other hardcore games, are going to be replaced with nothing but small, simple games...and if you think that then nothing you say...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...is valid.

ou act as if Wii is a NES or something :|, till now, NOTHING and i mean NOTHING i saw made me feel Wii is outdated otside of graphics, tell me something, what can RE5 possibly be better at than RE4 outside of graphics? RE4 had a LOT of people coming at you, the physics and the Ai are top notch.

There will always be a market for more hardcore games. While hardcore gamers tend to have less numbers, they buy more games - something that recently made a news article at GS. Certainly the number of games that appeal to hardcore gamers may drop if Nintendo caters more to the casual or prior nongamers to sell more systems, but there will always exist a market for more hardcore games.sonicare

You deserve to get your eyes tested(aimed at OP) if you think PS2-GC/XB is the same as Wii-360/PS3. PS2 had some of the best looking games last gen and hardware wasn't THAT weak, it more or less the same.
