Basically what it does is stream games from a high tech, state of the art gaming PC to your run of the mill crappy PC. That means my crappy computer can finally play Crysis on reasonable settings! Sorry if this is old, but you have to admit this is pretty amazing.

Is this the service that David Perry was hyping last week?

Edit: Nevermind Perry's service is Gaikai. It seems this type of thing will get popular.

How much bandwidth does that consume? I only have 100gb per month of download before penalties..

I read something similar in PC Gamer magazine, OnLive or something like that.

I think processing power will reach a critical mass where Onlive is no longer needed. Especially considering how latent the majority of broadband services are developing (download caps and crappy speeds/poor conducting wires) and how fast processors are getting, some including a graphics chip, minimizing space while producing blazing fast graphics. I don't see Onlive catching on in time for local processing to reach a speed which is not only more convenient but more reliable and cheaper in the long run than the hassle of subscribing to a volatile internet-based cloud-service.

No.. no you don't. If it comes true, you will never actually 'own' a game again, which is really not a good thing... not ot mention that if your ISP has a download cap, streaming higher than HD content to your monitor for hours at a time will eat through that in a second!
