And now my charachter is nearly fully upgraded in everything. I've been playing like this since yesterday. Yesterday was 5 hours straight, today it was 7 hours straight. All I can say is that this game was horribly robbed of a AA in my opinion. It really is a fantastically addicting experience. In two days I've collected 360 out of 500 (no pun intended) agility orbs and killed literally thousands of gang members. I want to go on but I'm just so darn tired.

Yes, I know none of you care so to entertain you mortals it's required I ask you a question or soemthing like that so... for those of you who HAVE crackdown do you think it deserved it's score of a 7.8 here at gamespot? I certainly don't. Based on GS's rating system I would have given it an 8.9. What about you guys?

I just got done playing a 4hr Ar Tonelicothon, and that game scored even worse.

If you disagree write your own review, it's quite simple.

No actually, I loved the demo so much I would have bought it without the Halo 3 beta anyway. The Halo 3 beta makes it all the better though cause I'm also a Halo nut. Can't get much better than that for me.

Rediculously underated!  I can finally see why so many people think Gamespot is starting to go downhill with its reviews.  The game should have scored an 8.0 minimum.  Crackdown focuses on addicting action, and does a great job of it.  I would have given it a flat 9.0.

I love how the reviewer says there aren't a lot of things to do.  Sure there are you idiot!  You blow **** up!  The world is fun to run around in, and the co-op is cooler than ****.  I swear this game was robbed hard.

Maybe the Gamespot crew forgot how to have fun.  They are getting old ya know.

thats not as fun as Stealing a boat, driving to the middle of an ocean , shooting down a plane with a rocket launcher , taking the documents it drops , getting into a fast car and trying to outrun the FBI to your hideout . thats the 2nd to last mission in GTA3

Well, keep in mind, you're a cop not a criminal. But who's to say a cop couldn't do that regaurdless (i.e "returning" a boat that was taken). Crackdown really is very linear in it's missions, but what they want you to focus on is using your super powers to complete your missions and wow is throwing cars, jumping 30 feet in the air, scaling skyscrapers, firing rockets in mid air, kicking people 50 feet back and then picking up their dead bodies and throwing it off a cliff fun. :) Maybe they will put what you desire in Crackdown 2 if they make a second one. Everyone loves custimazation anyway.

The game easily deserved a 8.2 at the least. I'd probably give it an 8.4. Still, I can see why gamespot rated it like it did. You pretty much have to click with the gameplay.

So you guys know: I've played and beaten the game, and I have all my skills at four stars (only agility and explosives maxed out, though). I've got 480 AOs and 160 HO. So I pretty much have formed a solid base on how to rate this game.

Stop whining. It doesnt have neither, and it cant be compared to GTA. Its a sandbox game yes, but crackdown shows that this genre can go down the road a lot of ways. Developers of saints row (good game) played it safe, gameplay almost identical to GTA. Cant say this for crackdown.

I've never had so much fun exploring a sandbox before. It's awesome. I love this game. Definately AA. GS seems to be giving EVERYTHING lower scores than I would lately. Wonder whats up? Maybe things are out of whack now that Kasavin is gone.

But one shall rise, and restore balance to the force.  The Emperor has forseen it.

Many forumites have been screaming that Gamespot is the bias for flopping RFOM, ZTP, VF5, and Crackdown in just the last couple months. I don't think its bias, cause they are an equal opportunity flopper, but the quality of reviews have been on a sharp decline lately.

Planeforger

I have recently destroyed Crackdown and now I am just driving around doing all the race challenges and man am I tired. I have literally not slept since it came out. I have been going on for three days with barely three hours of sleep under my belt. This game was seriously underappreciated by the many. Honestly the beta for HALO 3 can kick rocks for all I care. I still think that Gears of War is better anyway. Halo 3 had better be everything that Microsoft is hoping for and more, because if it is anything like Halo 2; copied stages from Halo 1 with smoother textures, and basically one new weapon, one additional vehicle, and a story that just plain sucked. Oh I'm sorry the Halo2 Multiplayer pack fixed that. Sorry! rushed game and unsatisfied results. I dont know about you all but I expexted alot more from M$. I guess I am just one of the few that bought Crackdown just for Crackdown.

It should have gotten atleast an 8.5. Its the best sandbox game ever. And hopefully future sandbox games will borrow from it and flesh out the idea further because it is excellent.

[QUOTE="Planeforger"]I'm suprised that anyone is actually playing the game - you all just bought it for the Halo 3 Beta, right?

No you aren't... I think most people got it to play the game. None of the people on my friends list said they got it 'just for the beta.' I'm really curious how well the game would do if it wasn't bundled. Pretty well, I imagine.
