lol ok first of all the pistol was an overpowered lame weapon, and halo 1 is far from perfect. That kind of talk almost sounds like trolling. The pistol, and the simplicity of the game. Not that it was easier, its just the more weapons you add to a franchise, the more confusing and useless other weapons become. Halo 1 was perfecteverquestlove
From what I gather you wish your games were more simplistic. But I highly doubt anyone else would want that. I prefer a more complex game structure, with more options and functionality, while still maintaining it's predecessors accessability. That's easily where halo 3 shines over halo 1. The story is better in the first, but thethird has far more weapons and vehicles. If you really want, you can be boring and use the assault rifle and drive a warthog until the end of time, but me I like the new vehicles, I like the variety provided by the new game, and the refinement of already great game designs.
The originals are never going to be the best.
I noticed those who dislike the current generation of games are Nintendo fanboys, raskulliburGeneralizing is not always a good idea.
try exploring pc games then. The lowest point of this generation is variety. Theres a lot of great games out, but many of them share the same genre.
Blue-Sky
The only difference I see between this gen, and the SNES/Megadrive gen when I first started is all to do with me. Back then, I was a kid who didn't have much to do besides hang out with friends and play games. That's pretty much what happened everyday after school. I also had no form of income, so every game I had was bought by my parents. Because of this, I had to make the most of the games I had because it would be a while before I got another one. I would play these games until I'd finished everything there was to do in it.
Nowadays, I have college, work and the internet all to distract me from playing games. I also have a form of income, so I can usually buy a game when it comes out, and this combined with my lack of time means I have a huge list of games to play, which also means I don't get the most of my games, because as soon as I finish one, I move onto the next one in the list. It sucks, but I'm hoping once I finish my first year of college, I can spend my few months off playing a lot of games. :)
I grew up with the Intellivision, and this generation is by far my favorite, and I have more great games than I have time for if I am being honest.SpruceCabooseI am in the same boat. I grew up with a Spectrum onto a Nes, Genesis etc. And i'm stuggling to keep up, hell i'm still playing Gamecube and PS2 games along with my PS3 titles which so far have blown me away, perhaps even more then the ones i remember through those rose tinted glasses.
I was born around the NES era and begun playing during NES-SNES transition era. Then moved onto PS1, PS2 and Dreamcast, then PS3. I could say that the PS1 era had a lot of RPGs that were enjoying to the core and SNES, although having a few great RPGs, had the most charming games.
PS2 had great games too but I got very picky when it came to games there (I loved Silent Hill 3, Kingdom Heart 1 and 2, FFX, Persona 4, and We Love Katamari, the rest were ok).
PS3... Right now I have no RPGs (since there are barely any RPGs) in the PS3 but I'm expecting no less from the upcoming games.
The first console I had was the NES and I can't believe people who are older than me, think this generation is the best for games. are you out of your minds?everquestlove
So you are saying yours is the only, correct opinion? :P
Each generation has given me games that I love, so it's really hard to judge.
