Look, I've not been in System Wars for long, as you can see by my number of posts. But from reading some threads, there are two or three nicknames that shout "360 lover / PS3 meh" to me, and this guy is one of them. Even though he owns a PS3.

I'm just honest. Some people hate that. 360 owners don't whine when I express my distaste for Halo 3, which is a better game than HAZE. This is an average game and nothing more.

Unfortunately, this is why you feel the way you do. Its not good to base an opinion of someone based on one thread they are posting in. The demo has 12% left for me and then I will either side with or against those who hate it...I was completely gray on the game before the demo anyway. I'm looking forward to being able to contribute to this thread here in a bit :P

I've always wondered that from the very beginning. I mean people were hyping Lair when all they saw was a short clip of 2 dragons flying around. And don't get me started on Heavenly Sword.heretrix

Graphics. The PS3 has yet to be validated as a truly revolutionary graphics machine. Killzone 2 would have been THE game to get that done...if only it had not been delayed...

Gran Turismo: Prologue is nice to look at, but Sony has hyped graphics since day 1, therefore that is what Sony-fans look to when validating their machine in my opinion.

I don't hype games. Any smart gamer wouldn't. I also don't give scores to games, so Haze is an average game. How will that translate into reviews? I don't know, and don't care. I just find you indifferent to be hyped about Too Human and Dark Sector, but not for Haze.

Yeah, you're allowed to like HAZE and I'm allowed to express my distaste for it. Just like what happened with Dark Sector when the roles were reversed.

although i enjoyed half life i can see why some wouldnt like it. i mean the gun play wasnt exactl spectacular and the enemies werent what i would call smart.

I'm surprised. The gameplay is tight, almost as good as if I were playing with a 360 controller...I really like the touch and feel of what Free Radical did here.

The graphics are atrocious but its a demo, so I pardon them.

The weapons they let me play with were too similar, I had the default pistol and 2 automatics...sort of disappointing but eh, its alright.

Nectar throws the game completely off balance, I didn't use it and I was plowing through on Hard difficulty. Using Nectar I wasn't even scratched...that will need to be adjusted.

Overall I'd say definitely an 8.0 game if it were to be reviewed today.

Demonware wouldn't work for me either.

I'm going in with an open mind for this one. As for the overall quality I don't know but accusations of it being generic don't make any sense to me. Haze is no more generic than COD4 or Crysis.espoac

Exactly so that's why I will judge the game for myself.

I probably download it in June to see myself, but I am not really that interested in game. At least it seems more better than some other blah FPSs like Resistance 2.

The people making Haze have a good reputation in the industry, there is no reason to assume this is a generic shooter. 4 player coop alone takes it out of the "generic" range. I haven't had a chance to try the demo yet though...

According to the demo that FRD put out, this one stinks of mediocrity. The dialogue is sooo lame.
