I know it's been said but PS3's Dualshock 3 is the best controller period...

I prefer the 360 controller. It has a better feel, better R2/L2 triggers, and tighter analog sticks.

meh i don't like ps pads that much, they need to upgrade...3 threes of the same...come on technology has come farther and they can make more comfortable and erganomic controlls like the 360 did with theres...the triggers suck on the ps3 pad and the analogs sticks..ugh make it feel like the sticks are made for you thumbs and not so your thumbs have to reach for the sticks...

Well i like the PS3 R2/L2 triggers just fine, and as for the PS3 analog sticks they are plenty tight, they just have a larger circumference in diameter which allows for more stick travel, about a half inch more all the way around over the 360's analog sticks, plus your finger doesn't constantly slide onto the start button when the button mashing gets fast and frantic like on the 360 controller.

Quite the opposite. Worst analogue sticks ever. Honestly. play with a Ps3 controller then try to go back to the 360's. Its hard to go back.

This thing feels so solid and even though the full charge lasts about 2 hours less then the regular Sixaxis depending on how much rumble is used, it still last's a heck of alot longer then the 360 controller batteries or full charge lasts....and it feels so much more comfortable ergonomically in your hands then the 360 controller ever did.

Own a PS3, like jangojay said. Own 2 DS3's and 2 SixAxis's. Prefer the tighter sticks on the 360 controller.

I don't even own a 360, and I prefer the 360 controller as well :P ...I use one on my PC for some game genres.

Love having a PS3, and have zero interest in a 360, but for controller preference gotta give the edge to MS.

This is a joke right? Its been said by many people heck even game reviewers that the 360 has the best controller this generation. Sony even flat out went and said Rumble was so last gen. Funny how they now have rumble in the controller.

Link Please....Link Please, why the heck should i take your word for it about who said what, show me multiple links of these so called reviews and Sony's statement about rumble being so last gen and then maybe i'll take your word for it...otherwise, it's only your opinion.

How about the positioning of the 360's analog sticks or thumbsticks as most of us call them, because the right stick is at the bottom and the left stick is at the top of the controller, now last i checked our thumbs are placed in the lower quadrant of our right and left hands, so when holding a game controller the thumbs are in a lower but equally level position opposite one another and when holding an ergonomically correct controller both thumbsticks are placed directly under each thumb in the lower quadrant of the controller which is the PS3's controller.

On the 360's controller you have your right thumb down low and then you have to stretch your left thumb up high, and when trying to move those two thumbsticks in unison during a shooting game, well they just move the character and his weapon much smoother on the PS3 controller.

It was because of the lawsuit...so they made up a lame excuse, they hardly meant it...now that its settles the rumble comes back...don't beleive every thing company's say. Everyone EVERYONE knows rumble is a needed feature.

here is a link from cnet...granted this is before the DS3 came out but just adding rumble isn't going to make that big a difference in the face of everything else...the 360 controller is ranked the best controller of all time...even though the DS3 now has rumble there is not way it tops the 360 but it might make the list now

as others have said the analog stick and trigger/bumper setup on the 360 pad destroys the DS3...not saying the DS3 is a bad controller but the 360 pad is the best I have ever played in my and alot of other ppl's opinions

As far as I can tell, holding the 360 controller is extremely comfotable, while the PS3 controller is just shaped awkwardly.

Speaking of awkward, try playing an adventure game like Zelda with the Wiimote and nuchauck where you can spread your hands apart and get comfortable in any position, and they try going back to a PS3 or 360 controller where it feels like your hands are handcuffed together just to hold the controller.

fact the dual shorck 3 is the worst controller period its not ergonomic by any means go play with a different type of controller for a month then go back the dual shock 3 will feel weird in your hands for a while your hand is FORCED to conform to your hand, the 360 controller is ergonomic after that month your hand feel more comfortable with it in your hands cause the 360 controller conforms to your hand not the other way around, as for that the placement of the analog sticks is much more natural, the only problem with the 360 controller is the dpad and that really only applies to fighting games, and even the dual shock 3 has problems in that area, which is why i use arcade joysticks for fighting games its much better and accurate.

Quite the opposite. Worst analogue sticks ever. Honestly. play with a Ps3 controller then try to go back to the 360's. Its hard to go back.

I disagree. The 360 does have better anolog sticks for a number of reasons. For one, they are concave so you fingers don't slip. Second, they are lower on the controller so it has a more comfortable feel and this allows you to be more precise. Third, they are positioned far enough apart that they don't get in each others way, unlike the PS3 controller where they are positioned too close togther.

its good an all that they are releasing the dual shock 3 but do u kinda feel a bit screwed over that u have to pay for a new controller to have rumble which was pioneered by sony back in the days of the PS1.

PS3nut

umm do you even know what ergonmics is?

the DS3 is less ergonomic than the 360 controller

there isnt much difference in battery life+ least 360 has play and charge cable of decent lenght but maybe you like standing 1m away from your tv using that standard usb cable?

this thread is pointless there is such little debate of the controllers they are both good it is just preferance.

I love the DualShock. It's a lot more solid than the SIXAXIS, the analogs are much better, and the rumble certainly has it's uses. The way it sits in my hands feels perfect. I am going to grab another one right away.

The 360 controller is pretty sweet, I just find I have to reposition my thumbs on the analogs a lot more, they seem to slip off. I'm partial to the PS controller because of two previous generations of Playstation ownership, but the 360 controller is the best one out there next to the DualShock, for me.

Maybe you should start sucking the fat out of those wieners you call fingers. That should prevent those stubby little digits of yours from sliding over the start button. :)

İ love the ps3 but the 360's triggers are awesome for shooter and racing games.

I warned you 360 fanboys, it might take Sony a little longer but by the time the complete package of the PS3 is done Xbox boys will be drooling with envy, between our more reliable and powerful hardware to our now superior controller with rumble and motion sensor controls in one, not to mention the Home online community soon to launch later this year and such hit titles like Haze, Metal Gear, Little Big Planet and Gran Turismo 5....well

The choice is clear so trade up your future Red Rings of Death consoles and join the winning team, you'll never regret it.

LOL, wow what a lie. They did a comparason on controllers in game informer or gampro, I dont know I get both. Anyway the ps3 had the least battery life and the wii seconed 360 the best. Dont come in here spouting lies. The ps3 controller does not even compare to the 360. Its the same control sony has been using for 10 tears. WOW NOW THEY HAVE RUMBLE!!!! Havent we had that since the nin 64?

It actually depends on the battery you use, so it's hard to measure that one. I get varying from 15 hours to 40 hours on my 360 controller.
