star wars rogue squad 3
in the hoth mission they acheived 20 mil polygons
and well re4 is an easy one to prove that

This game also went to the PS2 and most ppl dont a diffrence in graphic quality and i agree cause i tried both.
No ...they look radically different . THe gamecube version pwns it.
Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Resident Evil 4, REmake, F-Zero GX, Wind Waker, etc.
I didn't list Twilight Princess, because I think that it's ugly as hell.
Edit: Super Smash Bros. Melee also looked INCREDIBLE when it first came out. It has, like, no jaggies, and pulls off many great effects at once, with no slow down whatsoever.
metroid prime. thread end JPOBS
Thread end? you're kidding right? what about Metroid Prime 2. Now we can finish the thread.

You may not have noticed a difference, but people who played both know the PS2 version sucked in comparison, and nothing on the PS2 ever came close to the remake of Resident Evil 1.
metroid prime, metroid prime 2, mario sunshine, wind waker, zelda tp, re4, f-zero, rogue squadren 2, rogue squadren 3
GC was superior in hardware.... but let's just say that both consoles had some great visually stunning games...

My point exactly, i fully agree with your statement.
Why does everyone choose MP2, I own it and was expecting it to look amazing considering how much people claim it does, then I played it and it's just meh...
GC does have better looking games though, Rouge Squadron, RE4 and REmake, TP is good looking too, Sunshine's quite good, there are quite a few others as well.
I've been reading some of the older reviews of the GC. The most you will find is the reviewers will say the GC version looks slightly better. PS2 wasn't dramatically behind in graphics.
You know what was really good graphics on the GC is James Bond 'Everything Or Nothing'. I HIGHLY recommend this

Agreed on Smash, but there wasn't NO slow down. Big Blue stage says hello...
I don't know how good it really looks(never played it), but it looks damn good in picture form. And usually games look better in motion.
I've played God of War though. I can't seem to find any pictures that look even half decent of it, so I'll wait for someone else to post some.

My suggestion is to get to the doctor right away and get those cataracts removed before they get worse.
Last gen I bought both versions because I really wanted the Separate Ways mission for the PS2 version, and if you can't see the HUGE difference in the first level on the ground shading between the both you may have TV or eye issues.
The Gamecube version was lightyears ahead.

You gotta love it when someone asks for an example, gets a clear answer that can't be argued then just blows it off with some rationalization that has nothing to do with the original question. Why did you ask the question if you didn't want an answer?
Actually I think the reason why the gamecube often underperformed with multiplatform titles was mostly due to the size of the disk that meant if the game wasn't originally being designed on that console, files would have to be compressed more so than with the other consoles that offered greater storage capacity. The reason why the console exculsives looked better than the PS2 titles was probably, because the designers made better use of the GameCubes superior performance.Ek-Andy
I don't think storage space has anything to do with graphics unless it's a 2D game.
HAHAHA on paper?
do you remember what Sony put on paper? 66 mil polygons
Nintendo claimed 10-12 million
and there is no arguing that the GC was more Powerful then the ps2.
AntiType
I dare you to look at the two versions of RE4 side by side, and then compare Metroid Prime to similar games on PS2 at the time. Bring the tissues; you might start crying.

Sony put out 75 Million poly's with NO effects, with all effects on it was around 15 million, the GCN's poly/s was around 20 million with all effects ON.

RE4. Gamecube version had HDR, higher quality AF, and higher res textures. ( Or so I remember.)
F-Zero GX, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime 2, Pikmin, Zelda:WW and Zelda:TP.

Ugh. I thought the PS2 graphics of this title were borderline disgusting in comparison. I'm not usually one who puts much stock in graphics, but I thought the difference was instantly noticable (particularly in the trees).[QUOTE="thrones"]RE4.PSP107

You must be blind because their is a major graphics difference betwen the 2 versions. The most easy to notice is the toned down particles and dynamic lighting. The gamecube version had everything better including sound.RE4.
