I laugh at people that are planning on buying the Wii-fit.

Wii Fit is not in my interests but I wouldnt laugh at people who'll get it and enjoy it... I have a different poin of view in games / gaming in general and therefore got a PS3 and not a Wii...

However Wii Fit is an interesting and original concept, so we all have to wait and see whether it will be a success or not...

I don't think any one's taking it seriously as a weight loss solution. I mean it even uses the disproven BMI.

It's not for real gamers. We all know that. But it will still push wii sales, especially in Japan.

apparently you guys are failing, because you dont seem to understand my posts about how nintendos periphials have a history of only controlling 1 game (so much so the interviewer even asks about more games)

LMAO you fail for failing to comprehend LMAO

The last peripheral: Wii Zapper - RE:UC, Ghost Squad and MoH:H2 were games made customized for it.

Wii peripherals are completely different to ones on other systems.

The wii zapper is a dang peice of plastic. If you can even call it a peripheral.

I know, it's still a peripheral though. Games have been cusomized for it specifically.

The Wii Zapper is just a plastic cut out. It doesn't directly effect the game in any way, shape or form. Heck, you can still play the game the exact way without the wii zapper by holding it in the same places. The Wii Zapper itself is hardly a peripheral, and its a sad day when we're calling cheap cardboard cut outs peripherals.

It targets people that are of lowest IQ possible IMO, only a person a bit above monkey brain would buy and "exersise" on such a thing

Wii innovates in separating population to human and people that have not reached that point yet

This is a false claim:

i laugh at nintendo making yet another periphial that will only be used with one game.I Like Changing Stances

It has been proven wrong. You changed your stance to "bu bu i meant games outside of japan!!!!"

That was proven wrong with We Ski. Then you changed your stance to "bu bu teh LIST of 10 games!!!!" I suppose that, after this is proven wrong, you'll change your stance again.

Cheap cardboard cutout? Easy on the hyperbole there, VV. Thing is that the main thing peripherals do is they change the way you play. That's what the Wii Zapper does. It gives a new, distinct feeling to playing a game than you get by playing without the Wii Zapper. So I would call it a peripheral.

The zapper itself doesn't do that. its just a cheap plastic mold. you can get the EXACT same gameplay style by just holding your wiimote a certain way or making your own dang zapper.

TC, I don't like it either and im not planning on getting it for my Wii, but its not useless. Its making Nintendo heaps of money. Money that can easily be ploughed into making great 1st party titles.

I think this thread demonstrates the self-important attitude so-called "hardcore" gamers have, particularly certain 360 owners.....

I will probably buy it. I'm not fat, I play soccer and football outside of school.

I am also self-respecting. You could laugh all you want, I don't care. I think it'll be fun for the entire family. And I already have GH3 and will probably buy Rock Band.

What? No. Have you ever actually used a Wii Zapper? Speaking personally, the experience is notably different between holding the Wiimote itself and holding it via the handles the Zapper provides. It creates a more gun-like experience, which makes games like Ghost Squad, RE:UC, or the Arcade mode of MoH:H2 more satisfying to play. Either way, it is a distinct experience different from playing without the Wii Zapper because of what you're holding and how you're holding it. It may seem like a small difference, but it isn't.

Yes I have used the wii zapper. Its just a cheap plastic mold of a tommy gun. Its not like the plastic itself effects the wiimote in any way, shape or form. Its just a holder for the wiimote. You can still hold the wiimote and nunchuck in the exact same way and get the same kind of gameplay experience. Its not like a cheap tommy plastic mold is going to affect the actual gameplay in any way. Its like the lamest peice of LARP equipment I've ever seen. LIGHTENING BOLT.

So, quick question. Y'know that handle that extends down from the front of the Wii Zapper that has the trigger on it? The one that supports the Wiimote? How do you hold the Wiimote like a tommy gun without such a handle? Should I balance it on top of my fist while also trying to wrap my index finger around the B-button? Because that sounds kinda akward. And possibly painful. And just a bit impossible.

So, quick question. Are all guns tommy guns? If anything, this is an incredibly distracting aspect of the zapper. It ultimatelly boils down to the zapper being a cheap plastic mold that doesn't change the gameplay in any way, shape or form. its just a cheap peice of larp equipment. Might as well put a tin hat on your head and running around shouting, "BLITZKREIG!". Obviously the tin hat is a peripheral.

Have I been saying it changes the gameplay? No, I've said it changes the experience, which it does. Does it change what happens on screen, no, but it changes how I experience what happens on screen, and that's all the difference in the world. Now you can reply to this with more demeaning comments, but it's become pretty clear you're not listening to what I'm saying. And if you're not listening, kind of hard to have a real discussion, isn't it?

Maybe if you're a hardcore larp. When I was using the zapper it boiled down to nothing more than an extravagant mold for the wiimote, and ended up being more limited than it was game changing. The experience didn't change at all when I used it, and the only way that I do see it changing is if you're some huge LARPER. I mean, if you take that approach, you could consider anything a dang peripheral. *Picks up a water bottle* LAWL ITS A PERIPHERAL CUZ SOLDIERS DRANK WATUR! The wii zapper ultimately boils down to a cheap plastic mold of a tommy gun that neither repesents the plethora of guns in the games its used in, nor does it change the game in any way, shape or form.

IMO, it is the most useless thing Nintendo has come up with. I mean just look at it. Nintendo is acting like we can't exercise properly. So you can do push ups on it. So you can stand there and move your foot. WOW! Its really pathetic. Why not just walk up and down the street instead of wasting money on this short term novelty item.

Any self respecting gamer will avoid Wii-fit. If your that desperate to lose weight then go outside and play some soccer. Nintendo is encouraging us to stay indoors and stand in front of a television while moving from side to side.

Seriously I strongly recommend that you avoid it. Go to the park, get some fresh air and play some real sports instead of playing on the Wii-"Lets make people think they are losing weight by pretending that doing push ups on a board is totally better than doing it on the floor"-fit.

SpinoRaptor

You whole statement is young. I guess thats why a lot of gamers are fat and lazy, they dont go outside and do stuff, they rather sit in the house and play video games. Its like pulling teeth you get young kids outside now, back in the day you couldnt get kids in the house, punishment was to stay in the house. Why are most kids over weight? Because there not active, Wii Fit is trying to get them active, Wii sports tried to do the samething.

And for your "Real Sport" statement, go to Iraq and play REAL FPS's

rock band and guitar hero are the worst ideas for a game ever. so you can pretend to play a musical instrument. big deal! DDR is such a stupid game. you need a pad to pretend to dance. oh man, racing games with wheels are the most moronic thing ever. why do that when you can actually drive a car!

if you don't like it, don't buy it.

Okay, the WiiFit is a horrible game

HOWEVER the concept of the WiiFit board is awesome... just imagine what kind of games you can make because of the board.

People have to admit though, alot of the WiiFit games can be done outside, and lets say, its nice to be outside than in your house. Cmon pushups? Why do it on a board when you can just do it on your floor? Step lifts? Yeah, its called using the stairs back and forth.. thats alot better. The WiiFit is a horrible idea in my opinion, but the concept of the board wil be interesting

Wi fiit outselling?'..c'mon folks..lets keep the feet on the ground, wiifit is just a borad when they can tell your your weight..size, some stretch excersie some tips and thats it..play hula hula or something like that. Its not bad..but I have not see "ANY OTHER GAME" annouce for this device, only the one its used its by the wiifit game, so this will be another white elephant from nintendo, a good device wastes because they dont produce good games for it. ANd i assure people will buy it for curiosity or to try to "excersie" but after that..what else could this board do?.no other gaming company has announce any other game for it, so i am thinking here this wiifit will have 2 or 3 games for every year and from this 3...2 will be wiifit clones, the rest could be something different.

So people keep your feet on the ground wait if the annouce more games for this thing, if not then you will stick with big board that can be put to use like a paper weight.

I'm planning on picking it up just for the novelty factor. Not sure if I will ever really do a daily workout routine on it.

If you don't like it, then don't get it. What's the problem? Did the announce it will be packed in with every Wii from now on our something? It's just like DDR. If you don't like DDR, don't buy it.

they are just running out of things to bash. i cant remember a console that was more scrutinized and mocked more than the Wii. i guess when youre on top, people on the bottom try to take you down. not with their money, but with their opinions. lol.

As long as I have a solid piece of ground under my feet, I will never need Wii Fit for getting in shape.
