I'm a career skateboarder, I'm planning on buying this to get in shape and sharpen my balance skills.Boba_Fett_3710This is such a terrible lie. First you call yourself a "career" skater, then you think losing weight will give you better balance "skills"? Bunch of BS.
[QUOTE="mistervengeance"]you could have gone to a gym and lost a lot more weightflazzle
And you could have spent money on gas, spend money on a monthly membership, work your schedule around the gym, deal with potential jerks, and not have as much fun as Wii-fit, and not have a cool bunch of mini games to play with the board, and not be able to buy other cool games like we-ski and enjoy them to the fullest, and not be able to automatically track the progress of weightloss, and not accurately measure and hone one's balance.
Is there a balance measurement in the gym? Do they also give yoga lessons all day any time of day?
And you know, no one said its to REPLACE the gym, or any other type of exercise. I think Nintendo allows you to do Wii-fit and whatever else you want...
if you really want to go that far, you would have had to drive to get a wii fit as well, and buy it for a lot more money than a gym membership, or you could even buy your own weights or gear and workout at home.
deal with potential jerks? grow up.
work your schedule around the gym? you would have to do the same thing with wii fit, if you seriuosly used it to get "fit"
if you go to the gym with friends, you would have loads more fun than playing really lame minigames in a room for a few hours. if you sign up for a personal trainer, or tons of gyms have electronic systems that monitor your progress.
there is a balance measurement, it's called an excersize ball. you use it to work out and strengthen your core muscels at the same time. you can sign up for yoga lessons at most gyms.
if this: http://www.revver.com/video/577474/wii-fit-yoga-video-tour/
is the type of yoga you're talking about, you would do better buying a freaking book
i'm not saying that the wii fit is fine if that's what you're looking for, but if you seriously are trying to get fit, wii fit is a waste of money.
MY goal was to lose ten pounds. It actually worked, the people that called this game a gimmick seriously should try this crap, its pretty cool. you`ll Actually lose weight, now people dont call me chubby santa anymore.ILikeCatFoodMan

couldnt agree more.I have no interest in getting wiifit, but I understand its appeal.
Just because you use wiifit doesn't mean you can't go to the park as well, or still go the gym
If you prefer the gym, then fine. Just have an open mind, which is a good rule about anything in life. I dont own wiifit so I cant comment on it from personal experienc, but I imagine that combining wiifit with a gym membership could yield great results. You could go to the gym on a regular schedule and use wiifit when you get up in the morning or when you're just bored at home. I have worked up a great sweat from wiiboxing and even played it until I was sore, so I think there is something to the idea
Plus, I have always thought that gyms were flawed in that they are boring. There was a video mocking wiifit because the games were stupid, but they can't possibly be worse than the boredom of working out. Making a workout video game is a great idea. Maybe there will be a wiifit that can accomodate a more intense workout someday
[QUOTE="Willy105"]I think you lost BMI, not pounds.
But I don't think you lose muscle by using Wii Fit.
Number_1_Gamer
The only way to lower your BMI is by losing pounds. BMI is your weight relative to your height. So unless he shrunk in height, he lost both.
Well, congrats... but I don't think people were denying that you could lose weight by playing Wiifit.
I think the argumet is/was that you can lose weight elsewhere for a cheaper price, or if you're the kind of guy/girl who likes nature, then for free.
Unless he was utterly obese, losing ten units of BMi would cause him to be drastically underweight, most likely.I think you lost BMI, not pounds.
But I don't think you lose muscle by using Wii Fit.

[QUOTE="Vasichko"]I dont need it and dont have to lose weight because I dont sit around all day and actually go to the gym 5 - 6 times a week...levi895
The gym is not for everyone, I personaly will work out at home...I hate being watched plus I think its just dirty at gyms.
Good thing I have a Gym, not that I'm rich, but I exercise at night, when we close. :D
