Crysis comes onto the scene and absolutely brings all rigs down to their knees. I remember back in the day the bar was 60 for Doom3. I guess I was right, my 8800GTS640mb isnt gonna get me very High settings that the developer promised.

I think this concept might be new to you. Its this thing called "options." It something that gives you the ability to choose. I understand you dont get that with a 360 - You can only choose to buy a console that will die, you have no real choice when it comes to online play, the gamse are all fixed to certain resolution which may not even be 720 in HD, and you have to always pay higher prices for games - but options exist on the PC.
Aint it grand that the PC can allow you to run the game at nany frame rate you choose? Want to run at a 5 FPS? Crank up the res and AA! Want to run it at 100 FPS? Lower graphics settings. Making a game perform to my tastes? I know its a foreign concept for consoles, but it exists.
I love how sub-HD is good enough for console gamers now :roll:cobrax75
:D.
Reyes, 1 game pushes the boundaries, 30 FPs is playable by all means, not competitivly online, but then again I personally think Crysis online sucks.

yeah I think you argued with me that my 8800GTS 640 would run the game just well at the time too. lol ok Happy Thanksgiving.
[QUOTE="elbow2k"]Just drop it already, I've got the same video card and it doesn't bother me.Reyes360
hermits said I was stupid for saying it at the time. Ok I'll accept that I won the debate at the time.
You won what? The award for biggest graphics whore on Gamespot?
Seriously, do yourself a favor and quit PC gaming, and don't forget to stop crying because you can't run a game on it's highest settings.
Last time I checked, Crysis had other things besides great graphics.

It does run the game well, I play at High/Very High at 30 FPS .. granted its only 7XXP though, I cant play at my native rez of 1650 x 1050 ... which does lower the quality a good deal.

I'm not really keen on playing games that look uglier than a game that was released 3-4 years ago.

After playing the game on high O.O,you will not want to lower the settings. Even though you have options, what hermit on here has said they lower the settings for Crysis to get higher framerates?I remember none...they all just say the game runs so smooth at 25fps...and it does. I think it has something to do with the motion blurr, but I ran the demo at high...very high, whichever option was the highest,at 27fps and it seem like a smooth 60.I think this concept might be new to you. its also 600p, and can be played that way by a mid end card easily.

mine is at 75 FPS maxed at all times... I locked it at 75 MHz refresh to keep the temp down.... don't think it would have mattered though.

CoD4 for me is 90FPS @ 1050p with 2xAA and 8xAF(consoles don't even have AF texture filtering). Crysis @ high settings has very good frame blur, which makes 30FPS very smooth, also it doesn't have dips in FPS, which means that the framerate is consistent. Anyways nobody is making us play Crysis @ 30fps, one could play around with some options and run the game the way he prefers, be it 30, 45 or 60FPS.[QUOTE="muscleserge"][QUOTE="mingo123"][QUOTE="Meu2k7"][QUOTE="cobrax75"]I love how sub-HD is good enough for console gamers now :roll:farrell2k

CoD4 for me is 90FPS @ 1050p with 2xAA and 8xAF(consoles don't even have AF texture filtering).? Sure they do. Oblivion on the 360 and S3 both take advantage of Anisotropic filtering, with the PS3 doing it better than the 360.
Maybe PS3 oblivion had some AF, but the 360 proly didn't have AF filtering, maybe trilinear, it really didn't look like AF to me. but still not 8x or 16x AF like a PC. Also my 8800GT has the best AF ATM.[QUOTE="Meu2k7"][QUOTE="cobrax75"]I love how sub-HD is good enough for console gamers now :roll:mingo123

no wonder why hermits get a bad rap. lol PC gaming will be dead in a few years anyway.Reyes360
if you could go a week without bashing hermits I would be amazed. Seriously, its ALWAYS the SAME thing. The exact same thing. If you could come up with more creative arguements then MAYBE hermits wouldn't be so freaking bitter when trying to talk to you. Seriously, you are quite possibly the biggest fanboy in System Wars, and I have YET to see you go a week without making one or two of these threads. My post is a perfect example of something coming from someone who is severely annoyed by your constant stream of nonsense and useless posting.

EDIT:Maybe not a smooth 60...but smooth enough.
Exactly what i was thinking, in my 8500 gt the game runs at high except shaders and shadows, and the game itself feels very smooth despite running at 20-25 FPS. And for some reason the other shooters that i have installed in my PC feel a bit sluggish when running at 30 FPS
Why is it always the same thread?Sir-Marwin105
exactly what I said.... Maybe he would get more friendly posts if he could come up with something more creative. He hasn't contributed to this forum in nearly 2 months.... That is unless you consider repeating threads OVER AND OVER contributing.
LOL hermits! Now it's your turn to say 30fps is good enough. Oh and next year Nvidia is going to make you buy their new videocard to run Crysis over 30fps. Hermits you must love getting Milked!
PS3_3DO
actually, with the latest driver I am sitting at a pretty 35 FPS with a minimum of 32 FPS. Besides, the next GPU will be able to run the game at the ULTRA High settings which aren't in the game yet but are going to be added for the 18 month update that Crytek told us about. So, Crysis, the best looking game ever, will look even better in a year and a half. I for one, will enjoy playing it again. I know I enjoyed replaying HL2 on the max settings. I enjoy my hobby and spend money on it willingly. If you can't respect that then I can't respect you. Besides, how is it milking if I can play new games at even better graphical settings? Far Cry 2 won't look as good as Crysis but that is gonna be good. Sins of a Solar Empire, Starcraft 2, Dragon Age(yes, it is still coming along. PC Gamer even talked to the Bioware CEO and he said it is looking amazing), Far Cry 2, Spore, Diablo 3(we ALL know that is in development. Blizzard has4 games in development. Starcraft 2, Lich King, a new IP, and one other game from an existing IP.... I think we can take a wild guess as to what it is.), and several other notable games are in production. Any hardware I buy will get its use.
arent most console game capped at 30fps....dude give it a rest....obviously you have never played crysis...constant 30-40fps is smooth...its might not be 60fps but its still good.....LOL hermits! Now it's your turn to say 30fps is good enough. lol you should know better. Wait 6 months - 1 year for the next gen vidcards to be released. They should be a nice leapfrog from this gen of stuff.
