I must admit Phil Spencer tune sounds fresh

Some of you act like we're 4-5 years into this new gen. We just started. How about we give this guy a chance. Uuummm.... he was just appointed to the position yet some of you want instant magic overnight lol.

Also some of you are talking about how you still see ads pushing for family entertainment. Well a core focus on gaming does not mean absolutely no focus at all on entertainment.

This E3 will be interesting for MS for several reasons but most of all we'll start to get an idea of whether or not what Phil is saying today is nothing more than lip service. Only time will tell.

@killatwill15: You didn't answer any of my questions. Following MisterX isn't like screwing a fat girl, that's silly. How about I send you a Xbox One from me and the guys here at Microsoft and we see if you change your tune about gaming with MS.

Way too many bullies/bigmouths in this thread. My opinion is simple: This is an encouraging speech, but we have to see this stuff in action. There is nothing else to be said.

Too bad he wasn't in charge prior to the design of X1 being set in stone. There's nothing he can do to save X1 from its weak specs.

I'll tell ya what though, a sequel to Lost Odyssey would cause me to buy a X1. But given the specs it would have to be $100 cheaper than PS4.

You mean how they are selling better then 360 at the same timeframe, making profit out the gate where as 360 made losses for 3 years?

And how MS merely lays off kinect/DRM staff and thats bad where as Sony laying off people while PS4 sells great.

I like what he's saying, that's for sure. Heck, I even believe he's being honest for the most part. He could have a great effect on MS gaming going forward. Unfortunately, he's stuck with some of the poor decisions from previous management, and he'll continue to be stuck with them until next gen, which sounds like a great time to check back in with them! :P

Last summer's Xbox One DRM/online controversy "hurt me personally," new Head of Xbox Phil Spencer told Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb during his latest podcast. The reason why he was so intimately affected was because he said he knows Microsoft builds products "for the right reasons" and Microsoft could have done more to better communicate this last year.

Yep. Thought so. No admittance that DRM was wrong, just the usual "we only communicated it wrong" garbage that Penello tried pushing last July.

So much for that "fresh tune." Amusing that so many people fell for Sphincter's "gamer" schtick.
