[QUOTE="Ninja-Vox"] It was clearly just my opinion; when they restrict your right to download things entirely, whine about it. When they simply give priority to their subscribers; you have nothing to whine about. You're not paying anything. You cant whine about having to wait a few days to get something you aren't paying for.
And yes, that's just my opinion. I'd have thought that was obvious. Unless you'd rather i mark every post with "in my opinion" to point out the already patently obvious.
And no; wrong. They did not "take away" a feature at all. You can still download demos. The only difference is that when popular demos come out which millions rush to download, making the servers slow, priority is given to Gold members. And rightfully so. People paying money for xbox live should be able to download these things first before they're released to everyone else.
You aren't paying anything, so you have no right to complain. They haven't taken away a feature; they're simply addressing the complaints of live users that new demos take forever to download when they first come out because of the volume of downloads. Thus, if you're paying money for the service, you get it early to prevent that.
I pay money. I see no problem with that. If i was using the service for free i imagine i'd be more prone to whine about it, but if you think about it reasonably, it makes perfect sense

They took away the feature that allowed you to download a game when it actually comes out. Let me ask you something: as someone who clearly spends time on gaming message boards discussing the latest games and demos, of what value is a demo a week after it comes out? Do you think people are going to still be discussing the demo and sharing impressions one week from now? I'd think not.
And allow me to point out an obvious truth that yourelf as well as many others fail to grasp: Xbox Live Silver is not free. It's not free any more than the controller that came with my console, or the Wii Sports that comes bundled with a Wii. The cost of entry for XBL Silver is a fixed one, and it's included in the price you pay for a console. I don't appreciate having paid for something (the ability to download demos when they actually come out) and then having it taken away from me, and I'm baffled at how you refuse to understand that."Oh gee, this demo came out five days ago.... i guess people on the internet are done talking about it now. Oh well, i cant complain seeing as i'm not paying any money for this service."
That would be my approach.
Silver is free. You dont have to pay money to use it. Thus, it is free. It comes with the console at no additional cost. It's free. I dont know what you're on about there.
And once again, i dont know how many times this needs to be said, but what functionality has been taken away? Like i said; three weeks after the console launched microsoft changed the download system to give gold users priority after complaints that download took too long.
You still get to download it. You just have to wait until the traffic has died down. It's not even a fixed amount of time. So what, again, is the problem? If you couldn't download demos at all i'd understand. But having to wait to let the Gold members download it first when you aren't paying any money is something you simply cannot complain about.
Nothing was taken away from you. Popular demos have had this restriction for way over a year.
