[QUOTE="dc337"] Take out warcraft and the sims and pc gaming is looking pretty bleak. Crysis only sold 1.5 million as of June last year, which is low for a pc game that had been hyped for years. In comparison Gears of War 2 sold 2.1 million on day one alone.
I agree with the poster that pc gaming has declined in the past 5 years. The only reason this hasn't shown up in total revenue is because warcraft and casual games have propped up sales. The fact that pc gaming now depends on games like the sims and nancy drew for sales shows how much the bottom has fallen out.
The real evidence for its decline is in the lack of big-budget exclusives. The pc can no longer generate enough sales to support them. This is why so many games coming out for the pc this year are either small-budget or multiplat.
