I Prefer 3DS's Fantasy Life Over PS4's D.A. Inquisition

Whether you believe it or not, i didn't like Dragon Age Inquisition all that much, within the first 3 hours of gameplay your overwhelmed with things to do in your quest log, it's too much too soon.

So i picked up Fantasy Life for my 3DS and i'm having much more fun playing that than the 3 hours i spent with the new Dragon Age, anyone else feel that way with the new Dragon Age?

Is DA:I like dragon's dogma or more like the original DA:Origins? The videos I saw of it I have no idea what it's trying to be.

I've been gaming for over 35 years, most likely longer tha you've been alive, So quite simply i have more gaming knowledge in my little finger than you will ever posess for the rest of your life.

Actually their very comparable, there both RPG's that require exploration, fighting, building, leveling up, quest solving, accept Fantasy Life doesn't overwhelm you in the first few hours of gameplay with countless objectives that detract from the main story to the point of you not knowing which end is up.

Fantasy Life does look interesting, but the critical reception is mixed enough that I'm going to wait on a price drop for it.

What critical reception? it got 8 out of 10's across the board and some reviews even higher.

It's a 73 on Metacritic, so that simply is not true.

how is it really? i was thinking of picking it up but i don't know the gameplay didn't look all that fun. you shoot with a magical cane?

If it did get a 73 on metacritic, i guarantee you it wasn't for lack of content or gameplay, it was probably because of the fact that real rpg gamers got turned off of the cartoony animation and the humor.

As far as combat, quests and content, and level scaling though, Fantasy Life is a great game that you could easily spend months enjoying and rarely do the same thing twice.

Read the reviews. The gameplay is solid, though the tactical aspects are stripped in comparison to DA:O. The characters are likable and i'm enjoying the story so far. I've not played much of the main story, and i've gotten almost 7 hours of gameplay out of it... There is a hell of a lot to do.

Yeah " A HELL OF A LOT TO DO ", some might even say waaayyyy too much to do in such a short span of time, maybe to most people that's a good thing, but i just thought it was too overwhelming, given the short amount of time i was playing.

For example i was 20 hours into playing Skyrim and had much less to do in my quest log, than in 3 hours of Dragon Age Inquisition, and i for one like being thorough and completing whatever tasks i get, but when you start to feel lost and overwhelmed in just a couple of hours, something isn't right.

Plus the combat was improved over previous Dragon Age games but still felt a bit sloppy, especially when switching to strategic mode, it was just a bit of an over hyped disappointment to me.

"Over PS4's D.A. Inquisition" yeah like that game is exclusive...

I kind of agree that there is so much crap thrown at you in DA:I but honestly most people wouldn't consider that a bad thing especially if its optional haha.

I was pondering Fantasy Life, but I'll probably wait on it. Seems cool, but its not catching my eye for whatever reason as of now.

Co-worker has put in over 120 hours into Fantasy Life, it does look great, so so so much content and I love the songs in the game.

For me Dragon Age Inquisition all the way. I LOVE Bioware games, I have replayed Origins and 2 way too many times to count. So for me Dragon Age inquistion is the best game released this year. And until Nintendo lets me play my 3ds games on a bigger screen through the Wii-U, I just don't have any interest in them, I have a 3ds, but just don't like playing on such a small screen, let alone a very crappy small screen that has massive viewing angle issues.

Not really. The sidequests are optional and remarkably easy to manage. Just doing a few quests in the Hinterlands helped me grab things to finish other quests, so it's relatively straightforward.

Got it for my wife along with Child of Light... Yeah she completed Child of light twice and said she tried to play Fantasy Life and just hated it, never asked her why and she LOVES JRPG's and games like Harvest Moon.

She traded it in to CEX for store credit to pre-order Pokemon Omega Ruby.

Yeah TC is an idiot who is terrible with money and has shit taste. He constantly trades in systems instead of being patient and saving his money.

I haven't played DAI yet, but that sentence right there makes me want to play it more.

I assume you haven't played a proper RPG before?

I'm 7 hours in and i've barely touched the story. I literally played the Prologue and 2 small story missions in-between the sidequests.

I trade systems in order to play the latest and greatest games on each one....which is much more cost effective then owning all 3 consoles and trying to buy games for all of them at the same time.

Plus between power up rewards coupons and Gamestop specials i almost never pay out of pocket when i do my trades.......as far as my taste goes, that's personal preference but i can say that i've owned, loved and played 10 times over such games as Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Champions of Norrath, Oblivion, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, Skyrim, Dragon Age Origins, Red Dead Redemption, Demon Souls, Dark souls, D&D Heroes, Daggerdale and many more,,, so i think my taste is pretty damn good and most reviewers would agree.

However i also love a ton of Nintendo 1st party titles and Fantasy Life, and until you actually play Fantasy Life you have no right to comment on my taste in games.
