Wouldn't you be pissed??? Imagine you went out and bought the PS3. You paid $600 and then you hear day in and day out negative stuff. And your broke and can't by the Wii that everyone is raving about cause you blew your dough on the PS3 and you can't play gears of War and Mass Effect and halo 3 will have to wait until Xmas 2009.
And you defend your bad decision in these forums against massive opposition for 3 months only to have the website itself slam your console? If I had bought a PS3 I would be pissed too. But I bought a 360 and after the Mass Effect is finished I am getting the Wii. So I am not pissed.
Also, another thing to point out, even though it's not worth it it's STILL selling pretty well.
Not AMAZINGLY well like Wii.
But it's selling faster than the Xbox 360 was when it was 4 months out the gate in NA and japan.
And when it launches in Europe it will outpace it there as well.

GS has the right to put up any article the wish too, they had some good points, and yea it seems a little biased, but its probably because the PS3 isnt offering them anything the 360 or wii can at this point.
Sony dominated last gen with the ps2 so expectations for the PS3 are so high, and right now its not living up to its hype, so they have ebvery reason to make an article about it.
Cows dont like it, too bad its the truth.

The reason ps2 dominated is because it did not have hard competition til the Xbox came even though the ps2 outsold the xbox but the way how sony sal the graphics on the xbox. sony got scared and put to much crap on the ps3 to overtake MS graphics and look what happens the price is to high.GS has the right to put up any article the wish too, they had some good points, and yea it seems a little biased, but its probably because the PS3 isnt offering them anything the 360 or wii can at this point.

Oh, puleeassee... You would be as angry if they list ten things about Xbox 360 or the Wii faults...
For myself, I think it would have been OK, if the article was posted before GDC... But after...?A lot of the developers like Cliffy B praised Sony yet GS had to turn it around.
Where's justice in that?
In 3 words: They got owned. After all the good news from GDC, they were able to come out and bash everyone and everything in sight. But this pretty much steals their thunder once more and forces them to crawl back under the rocks they've been hiding under since launch day. Zhengi

You should blame Sony for putting out an overpriced console which doesn't just the same things as the cheaper competitior right now and secondly yourslef for buying it. Things may change in the future however, but don't blame Gamespot for writing an article and telling you how it is right now. PS3 as a gaming console right now sucks. It's only viable as a Blu Ray player and maybe 1% of the sold consoles were going just for that reason, rest for gaming, and those would be better of with the Xbox 360 for the moment.
And where is the Wii or Xbox 360's "10 things wrong about the either of these system"?
Why only the PS3? Did you even read the article? All throughout, it was completely misleading. It was hardly contructive article at all, only rubish thrown here and there.
[QUOTE="ParasiteEveLust"]
You didn't really respond to my post. And a lot of developers applauded to what Sony showed... even Cliffy B praised them.F-Minus
That article is completely biased and it needs to be removed.
Here's a nicely written take on the article.
After reading the recent article, "Ten Things to Make the Playstation 3 Worth Buying," I found myself disgusted by the direction of the article and the seeming lack of knowledge concerning the points that were trying to be made. With that in mind I have decided to post a full response to the article.Improve Developer Support to Secure More ExclusivesVelric
Within this point itself the issue was answered twice. First, the article points to the fact that with a smaller install base it is not surprising that titles have made the multiplatform leap. It goes without saying that developers and publishers would like to make a profit on their games and until the install base of the PS3 has increased to a size closer to that of the 360 it is likely that many titles will continue to be multiplatform. This is the nature of the beast and is something that is corrected by time when a system (the 360) has had a full year’s head start. Second, the article also mentions the new developer tools that Sony released at the GDC which is intended to help developers that were finding the PS3 difficult to program have an easier time creating for the system.
When both of the key issues presented in this point have already been addressed, how can you still list this as one of the ten things that needs to change? The answer is that you cannot.Fix Online Fundamentals Before Going Home
This point lists very few issues and seems more like all the author wanted to do was insult the people that use Second Life and might have an interest in using Home. It fails to mention any of the advances that a system like Home will create for the online gaming environment. It is also taking a giant leap of assumption and insinuates Sony will not be working on improving the PSN in any way between now and the release of Home, which any intelligent gamer would know to be untrue. Apparently they also forgot to mention that many of the features that the PSN lacks were features that Live lacked upon its release that also needed to be added in over time.Standardize Online Features for Multiplayer Games
Rather than realize the fact that the games that currently lack the online play, Tekken and Virtua Fighter, are not made by Sony, the point would like it that Sony regulate all games coming onto the system to include specific online features. Sure, something like this can be a great idea but this isn't an issue with Sony. If a game chooses to not include an online mode or doesn't include the specific online functions that you desire then it is best you look to the company that made the game and not the system you are playing it on. Personally I can name quite a few games for the 360 that have a shortage of modes and options where the online play is considered. In fact, one of the most glaring offenders is Gears of War. Gears of War offers three modes, three modes that are so similar they may as well be one mode, has a leaderboard that has no basis in skill and instead rewards time played, has a painful lobby system that hinders players from finding friends, and has absolutely no clan or team functions.Reconsider the Price
The price of the PS3 is something each individual has to consider for themselves whether or not it is a sound investment for them. The PS3 is a costly unit that offers enough hardware and features to justify the cost. Whether a person agrees with getting a feature or not, such as BluRay, is as much opinion as someone liking a game and someone else not liking that game. Sony was open from the start about the manufacturing cost of the system and the loss that was being taken on each unit. It is unreasonable to think that they would deepen that loss.
Fix Web Browsing and Media Management
This is a redundant point. This falls under point #2, “Fix Online Fundamentals Before Going Home.” Again, this issue seems like padding to the argument. The issues here are valid and are things that should be changed or added but that doesn’t change the fact that this point is nearly identical to point #2.
Make Accomplishments Matter
How do achievement points for the 360 make accomplishments matter? They increase a score that you can use as a talking/bragging point with your friends. How do trophies for the PS3 make accomplishments matter? They allow you to display cool looking virtual statues that you and your friends can admire while talking/bragging about them.
Why should the PS3 have to make accomplishments matter by unlocking special content when this isn’t asked of the 360 in any way? The trophy concept for the PS3 is already a step above achievement points.
Change the Way We Play Games
The Wii offers motion sensitive gameplay, an innovation. The 360 offers achievement points for accomplishing goals in a game, an innovation. The PS3 offers a large, virtual space that incorporates communication and interaction between players, trophies that are awarded for accomplishing goals, and the SixAxis motion controls. It seems to me like Sony is making advancements in this area.
It is also worth mentioning that Home is a significant improvement in how players will play their games. Even though the author of this point doesn’t seem to realize it, it has been made clear that Home will be usable by clans as a meeting and launching point for online titles. This allows your apartment and Home in general to function like a guild hall would most MMO’s. When you consider that it is also creates a huge environment for player communication you see that it is quite the addition to how games can be played and experienced.
Experiment With Content Delivery
Wait, this point seems to reference both the 360 and the PS3 simultaneously. Regardless, both systems are making an effort to try out new features in this department and both have started to offer various ideas. The 360 and the PS3 both have downloadable games, demos, and trailers, and the 360 also has content, TV, and movies. Sony has already stated they are working on movies and TV, has mentioned that the theaters in Home will have exclusive showings, and that they will also have downloadable game content when games start releasing this (such as Resistance soon).
Provide Solid Hardware and Product Support
Shouldn’t this be addressed to Microsoft? Sony as a whole is a relatively strong brand name where quality is concerned and it goes without saying that based on the number of PS2 units produced and sold worldwide that there would be a number of issues. What this point fails to mention is that the PS3 has had no significant issues since release and has so far proven to be a very reliable machine. On the other hand the 360 has had quite a few well known (and publicized) issues. Even the Wii has had a stronger defective rate than the PS3 with its units that contained faulty hardware/software that did not allow players to use the Wii’s online capabilities (I personally experience this issue and kudos to Nintendo on fantastic turnaround and customer service).
Start Releasing Good News
Sony has been doing this from the beginning. They have stood firm in saying that their release was a success. They also achieved the majority if their initial goals both with shipping and sales. In addition to these they have also recently announced Playstation Home, which has sparked a large amount of interest across the entirety of the gaming community worldwide. I would consider that *very* good news.
The point here asks when the last time you heard anything good since Home was announced. If you don’t personally consider the launch of the PS3 a success and even if you don’t care that the PS3 has met most of its initial goals, you do have to respect the fact that it has only been out since the middle of November. This makes the system less than 4 months old. It is unreasonable to expect a less than 4 month old system to announce something new and grand on a weekly or even monthly timetable.
Overall the article tries to make a lot of points but fails to realize that most of the issues have already been addressed, are a product of the age of the machine, or are related to simple economics. One of these issues, the one dealing with online capabilities in games, isn’t even an issue that is a product of Sony.
I personally feel that this article was poorly researched and poorly written. It seems to be a cheap attempt at gaining some page views and another way to give some negative press to Sony. The PS3 is in no way a perfect system but many of the issues that surround the system have to do with how recently it was released and many others are being change or fixed as time rolls on.
I can respect the idea of making a list of features you would like to see a system add or fix, but I cannot respect a list such as this one that doesn’t have all of its facts straight and fails to recognize the circumstances of each issue.
