A sequel is inherently limited by its predecessor's setup. I think all sequels should be banned or boycotted. I'm tired of revisitation. I want new ideas, period. Let the chips fly where they may. Agreement?

I can't agree with what you say, however I will remove the cardboard boxes from the windows and allow light on your idea.

Videogame sequels are almost always better than the originals, but go ahead.

I want more sequels. It's the reason I buy comic books who wants a story to end. I use to get upset about how there were no true sequels to many of the FF games. But square has fixed that problem has of late. Many here hate that fact but FF:CC7 was an amazing game. Even if they have had flops doing it like FFX-2 and FF7 : DOC

i just want to play new ideas. i don't want to play re-realizations of the same ideas. if a game is good but not great enough to warrant classic, release a patch or expansion.

Go ahead... meanwhile I will be adamantly awaiting Mass Effect 2, Dead Rising 2, Condemned 3, Zone of the Enders 3, Skate 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Doom 4, SOTN 2 (Iga's new PS3/360 project), TCoR: Assault on Dark Athena, Forza Motorsport 3, Kameo 2, Metroid Dread and Star Wars: KotOR III (I know its not happening but I can hope can't I?).

I like playing games that offer more of the same... especially when "the same" was so good to begin with. Constant innovation is overrated. Refinement is much more important.

I agree and disagree at the same time... sequels are more than welcome in my book if they are improving gameplay and giving you a reason to play (or in other words...not making a sequel for the sake of making a sequel)....however, It would still be great to see devs putting more effort in new games and new ideas sometimes...more so than they are doing now. ....but i'm fine all the same as long as the game is worth playing.

I agree to a certain extent. There seems to be wayyy to many sequals and games coming out from companies that need to take a break. (ex. GTA series, Sims series, Guitar Hero, Sonic,Halo 1-3 ok thats fine, but do we need The rts game and the HALO 3 Recon.) Now most of those are spinoffs, but you get the idea. Now sequals are needed to complete a series and such and can be great fun. (EX. F.E.A.R. 2, Bioshock 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 and the others and many more.)

people like you are the reason that GTA IV, Fallout 3, MGS4, Gears of War 2, and SSBB were the top-rated games of the year despite doing nothing nw.

I don't own a single one of those games. And exactly what is "new"?
