I do not get why their is this hate of any Nintendo system as being "kiddy".

If you've seen any adults playing the Wii U then either you are lying or you can travel to the future.

Because many haters are teenagers who aren't passed that adolescent stage of life where they want to "be an adult".

Yup, and I'm one of them. When it comes down to it, we're all playing in some fantasy world as if we were playing in our backyards (ie every game is kiddy). Just because the image is different doesn't suddenly make certain games "mature". Playing Call of Duty is like playing cowboys and indians. There's nothing wrong with being kiddy, we're all having fun.

Because they are aimed at kids despite what you may think. Being aimed at kids doesn't mean adults can't enjoy it as the DS certainly has more adult oriented titles, but that doesn't change the fact that the demograph is indeed children.

Friend Codes is the easiest way to see that.

People call Nintendo games kiddy for multiple reasons because they're insecure in their own maturity so they refuse to lower themselves to playing games that are rated E and they don't understand what E rated means.

People who think ninty games are too "kiddy" to be considered good need to do a few things...

1. Go play Majora's Mask and Super Metroid.

2. Get your head out of your ass.

3. Play some Pokemon and you may be forgiven.

Also I'm really tired of hearing Nintendo fans crying because someone thinks their games are kiddy. And no, it doesn't make you more mature because you think Mario is cool, just as it doesn't make some dumbass mature because he likes M rated games. The entire argument is dumb.

pretending for a second that we are not talking about all the adult women with wii fit and all the adult casuals with there casual games. I'm 23 and i own all the nintendo consoles. People that hate on it and call it kiddy are just kids that wish they were adults and think that by distancing themselves from anything childish makes them look more mature.

It is more or a less a kids game and you can play it too.
Ive seen mostly kids play Nintendo products including myself when I was younger and grown ups played on PC etc.

Just because adults enjoy those systems (barring the Wii U) doesn't mean the intended audience isn't kids. Disney and Pixar movies are certainly still enjoyable but I know who the target audience is.

There are two extremes to the concept of Nintendo and the mature content of their games (or rather the lack of). One side is the pre-teen/teen/young adult group who wants to be seen as mature. The other is the child stuck in a man's body phenomenon who are a bit overly sensitive when it comes to the insults. In my eyes neither group is mature.

Of course gaming in general from a non-gamer's perspective is seen as kiddy and immature whether you play Super Mario or The Witcher 2.
