I think Grand Theft Auto 4 gets alot of undeserved Hate.

I see alot of people who constantly say that GTA IV is a bad game. While it did not deserve the perfect score so many places gave it, it's still one of the best games released last year. I recently played through my second time and found myself still impressed by many of the aspects of the game. Sure it has it's problems, mainly the annoying phone calls from friends; but I can't help but feel it could be improved upon (Less Phone Calls; More Activities to Do (A reason why Brucie is the "funnest" person to hang out with) ).

I can honestly say that Grand Theft Auto IV trumps the PS2 games, and I hope the next installment continues what was started in GTA IV.

It broke records in sales and critical acclaim. More people playing means there will be more people that dislike it, and almost unprecedented critical acclaim means more people will be disappointed.

I totally agree. It's a good game, but since reviewers shoved 10's down everybody's throats people started a backlash. I personally prefer the old ones over GTAIV, but that's not to say it's not one of the best games this gen.

Some people seem to be really bothered by the fact that it got a 10. Doesnt' bother me much...it's a tremendously well-made game. The only thing that bothered me were that Niko's story wasn't as interesting or important as I thought it was going to be.

I'm one of those guys that waited for the PC version. I'm pissed that GS was willing to lower Fallout for PS3 for minor issues, yet still scored GTA4 PC the same score despite massive technical difficulties. Even after the patch the game still have optimization issues and bugs.

it gets alot of undeserved praise if anything: i mean a 10 rated game is supposed to be jesus christ walking on water,and GTA IV was furthest from that.

One of if not my favourite game for this gen so far. I've been busy so haven't had the chance to play the lost and the damned but i'm sure my love for it will get even better after i play that.

There are alot of factual reasons to hate on GTA4.

Great game I really missed the buying property tho, running drug houses and so on, that was a lot of fun.

It's pretty stupid that anyone would hate on the game just because of L&D. There's enough content in the main game to keep anyone satisfied :P.

There was a lot of hate for GTAIV a few weeks after its release. This was due to people completing it and realising there wasn't much else to do in the game.

But considering what Rockstar created, a living city with a pretty damn good multiplayer, I can see why it pulled the reviews it did. The 10's were mostly for the technical aspect of the game.

It was a good game though, they just took a lot out which will probably appear later in other GTA titles or possibly DLC.

GTA4 is an excellent game, most people bashing are either Wii fanboys or PS3 fanboys (you know for the DLC exclusivity). It's an excellent title with a great story, characters and freakin' huge map.

Basically, it's fun.

ive never had any issues with it, performance wise it runs and looks superb, especially post patches. didnt deserve a ten but undoubtedly one of the best games released last year

I don't hate GTA 4 I just think it deserve a 10, taking things out from previous GTAs wasn't allright with me.

GTA in general sucks imo so I think it deserves hate.

GTA3 is still the best GTA IMO. The formula for me after playing GTA3 - GTA:SA and the PSP side games in between has worn out it's welcome.Flamestos

I one hundred percent agree, not only is Grand Theft Auto IV superior to many games this generation but it's one of the best games I have ever played. It suceeds on so many levels and it cut all the crap from San Andreas and brought it down to a grittier more mature game. The GTA I always wanted.

It deserves some of it's hate. The only reason I hate it is because some of the people who play it like my sisterand friends may not be ready for semi-realist volience and only play that game for that reason. Otherwise I would have bought the game along time a go for the story and gameplay. So it does get some just and unjust critizem.

GTA IV is the best GTA game all around. Some let nostalgia get to them. Going back and playing the PS2 GTA's is like watching a trainwreck in slow motion.

Got it recently.. played it for about 8 hours all together... haven't played it for ages.

Perhaps I am not far in enough yet to really judge it so much.

At the moment, I'm wondering why there is this big world with nothing to do in it except to drive from point A to point B.

I can't really play the game for more than an hour without quiting..

Have it for 360 and know PLENTY of people just like me who got very bored, very quick. The game felt like a chore at times, and the story was definetly not all it was hyped up to be. Enjoyed Vice City and San Andreas 10x more than this.

the game get boring because you always do pretty much the same type of mission, after you finish the game there isn't much to do, the music could have been better, the level of details of the games is the only thing that made me going back for more but eventually, it's just not enough. for me saint rows 2 was a much better game except on the detail department
