and you know what PC Gamer's resident car enthusiat/sim player says?
He hates GT and Forza.

fanboys are so bloody ignorant  calling forza 3 arcade when the vast majority of ye havnt even played it
[QUOTE="icyseanfitz"][QUOTE="Gamtrix"] Despite being a lot more arcadey Forza 3 still isn't that bad. GT5 will be better ofc though. DOOMHALOWNER
aw come on its not arcadey in the slightest unless you have all the assists on  i have yet to find someone that can tell me what exactly is arcadey in forza 3
not even arcade mode in forza 2 was arcadey lmao Forza 2 wasn't as arcadey as 3, 3 went overboard with the casualness arcadeyness. Still even 2 was more arcadey then GT4 for example.Good to see the 6 year wait for a new GT has driven it's fans so insane that they believe an unreleased game is better than multiple proven AAA games.locopathoI don't see why people pick on the fact that the last GT was 6 years ago, it took Alan Wake the same, and it took SC2 12 years...... and people never mention these games.

And it didn't take that long, they made GT5 prologue and GT psp in that time fram. Not to mention the dev studios is smaller then half the size of Forza's. Haters hating really.

maybe your playing it with assists (which are completely optional might i add) on which is why it would be "arcadey" and the fact that these assists weren't made for us people who can actually play these games they were made to introduce new people to the genre, that is really the only way anyone could ever call forza 3 arcadey without being a fanboy as i garuntee you that GT5 will be just about the same if not worse on the realistic car physics side of things, i love cars and i can tell you there isnt a whole lot of difference in how they handle compared to forza 3 except of course for the forces that are felt on your body when your actually in a car at high speeds
im sorry man but nfs shift isnt a sim at all its a hybrid sim/arcade game so the cars dont handle properly at all, and if you think driving a r1 class koninsegg CCX (close enough for me :P) without any assists is easy in forza 3 on a really technical track.....maybe your god???
icyseanfitz
you clearly never played it with all the assists off..that game is unforgiving and if you think forza is realistic then boy oh boy your in for a shock whenever you play Rfacor or GTR.
THOSE are racing sims, but trying to call Forza or Gran Turismo uber realistic sims is just ehhh no.
Sorta true and I do think the better comparison with the GT series is PGR so if the rumored PGR5 is announced then..
PGR5 > GT5. :P
don't care i'm buying nfs: hot pursuit this fall and then dirt 3 in the spring.
the only thing that could onvince me to pick up gt5 is if i pick up the 3d glasses that go with my tv. that may be enough to offset the inherent boring nature of the gt series.
[QUOTE="angryfodder"]The 3D thing upsets me. I don't have a 3D tv. Infact 99% (stats TBC) of the world doesn't have a 3D tv. When I play GT5/Killzone 3 etc etc, there will be a little annoying OCD voice in the back of my head, telling me that I am not playing the game at its best (ie, in 3D) Its going to be like watching the non 3D version of AVATAR. Yeah its ok, but you know you're missing out on something. I hate missing out on something.sts106mati read in a magazine the other day that approx 60% of the population of the uk, cant see a 3D image due to their dodgy eyes!
i cant really see the diffrence apart from a little depth but i do have to wear glasses sometimes (really need new frames :o), but i can vouch for this as one of my mates said she doesnt get the whole 3d thing purely because she cant really see it cause of her eyes.

As for SC2, I'm not sure anyone expected this is come out soon after its announcement. It's Blizzard we're talking about

99% of the uk population can't see a 3D image because they can't afford Sonys new range of 3D TV's
HEY EVERYBODY WHOS TRASHING FORZA FOR BEING UNREALISTIC
have any of you actually driven any of the cars in forza irl? i mean honestly how the **** do you guys know how A class cars handle. its crazy ridiculous. And ooo GT is so good because it hasn't come out yet, 6 years it better woop forzas ass.

yes i have played nfs shift and its not realistic in the slightest its just damn frustrating when the assists are off in that game as for the pc sims ive played both iracing and some of the gtr games and yes they are far more realistic than any console sim right now but there major problem is they lack the same amount of cars and customization (forza 3 anyway), comparing forza 3 and nfs shift is stupid as shift is an arcade game

$800 in USD. the glasses are another $400.(two pairs) check the reviews before you buy any 3d tv, the sonys are currently getting crushed in head to head reviews.http://www.hhgregg.com/ProductDetail.asp?SID=n&ProductID=71877

Really, I can't tell if you are serious are not.

I know the guy is a fanboy from previous posts I've seen of him but in this case he's pretty much right. You can easily prefer Forza's gameplay to Gran Turismo's but there's no arguing in that Gran Turismo is a far superior car simulator. Forze is much more of an arcade driving game than a simulator.
arcade  seriously it has one of the most advanced car physics engines ever created (even has tyre deformation) GT5 will be great but its physics could very well be a lot worse than forzas
To add to your post: Forza 3 also has Chasis deformation and I have a feeling PD won't put tire deformation or chasis deformation in their game when they are too busy trying to put 20 different versions of the same car and Rally racing in their game.

dont get me wrong im no fanboy im really looking forward to GT5 to see what those six years have created and if it will be as good as everyone is saying it will be (also getting a pc for Rfactor and iracing) but i just cant stand people saying forza 3 is an arcade game because it is in no way an arcade game its the best console sim to have been released to this day
