I think the PS3 failed to the 360 in 2007 in terms of GRAPHICS and PERFORMANCE

Get real. The fact that the PS3 came out and every multi-plat was superior on the other system in terms of textures, frame rate and online play was just pathetic. Get happy about sales all you want, but the PS3 owners got the short end of the stick in 2007.

Hopefully things will be different in 2008 -- BUT REALLY??? will the sony fanboys accept inferior or "on par" multiplats in 2008? When do the excuses end and cows all admit the PS3 isn't as powerful as everyone was led to believe?

Hooray for that extra year 360 had for developers to get to grips with it !

Multiplat were inferior on PS3 at launch but by late 07 they were equal to 360's version, just look at Assassins Creed & COD4. This year multiplat may well be superior on PS3 because developers will use PS3 as the lead platform, just look at Burnout Paradise & DMC4.

BTW Uncharted proved that PS3 is a graphically superior as most reviewers/games media have said.

I think it's clear now that the graphical difference between the 360 and ps3 isn't what it was meant to be. Why hasn't the ps3 trounced all over the 360 by now? (both in terms of AI and graphics)

Apparently Uncharted is the graphics king, so the ps3 has shown it's on par with the 360 at least.

In every single gen until now, it wasn't hard to tell which system was the most graphically superior. All you had to do was look at the multi-plat games and the graphically superior system stood out.

How was the PS3 supposed to mop the floor with the 360? When did anyone say that? The fact is it did sell more than the 360 even with huge games like Halo 3, Mass effect and Bioshock.

Usually if a game is made on an inferior console and it is ported to a more powerful console it is slightly upgraded in graphical power but it might be different this gen.

However MGS4 and FXIII will give a good idea of what it is capable of.

As for 360 I have no idea if it has reached its limits but I am pretty sure it to still has quite a bit to offer.

The PS3 wasn't released in PAL regions until March, had a price-tag of $599 for some seven months, had no established heavy-hitters (a MGS, FF, GT, etc.), and was everyone's favorite system to hate, yet it still outsold the 360 in the year Halo 3 was released, which marked the, what was it again - oh yeah, "biggest entertainment launch" ever, amirite? And from what I recall, wasn't everyone clammering about the PS3 being dead after '07, calling it the next 3DO or whatever?

Double the price huh? That's why the PS3 has had the largest first year price drop in the history of gaming... cuz they were selling sooo well.

And games that put the PS3 to shame??? Do I really need to list the multitude of games that are noticably better on the 360? (e.g., Madden 08, HL2 - just off the top of my head)

the reason multiplats were bad on ps3 is because they were PORTED from 360

I'll admit, PS3 was a lackluster on many multiplat titles. But you phrase that like it had anything to do with PS3 hardware itself and not the time needed for devs.

Besides, PS3 owners were treated to some unbelievable performances.

Warhawk: On e of the craziest/busiest online multiplayer games out there. Runs smooth as hell, free of lag.

Heavenly Sword: In one of the last chapters you fight an army of soldiers. Thousands of them attack you, all real-time, all being put in motion and with A.I. from the "teh cell." It is truly something to see for yourself. Not to mention, one of the best stories ever told in a game.

Uncharted: A combination of many animations pulled together in a flexible responsive character. Beautiful levels, many have touted as the best looking console game to date. Not to mention one of the best characters to come to gaming. Great voice talent and writing.

Most people who wanted a 360 bought it in 2006. They all knew Halo 3 was coming, and they had Gears for launch.

1.) I think that the PS3 did very well it's first year regarding graphics. There are more better looking games on 360, but Uncharted owns overall.

2.) As far as sales. It was greatly shocking to see that the PS3 outsold the 360, even with Halo 3! All year the American media and fanboys made it seem like the PS3 was selling like rocks. I think that was a huge accomplishment for Sony

3.) This year will be even greater for PS3 than 2007. I can't so so about the 360 right now since Halo 3 already came out...

The games built for PS3 architecture are superior. Games built for PC are not. OK 360 does PC better than PS3. Thats the only thing you'll get from last year and some of this year.

Well at the end of the year most multiplats became identical and the ps3 exclusives started to pull away in the graphics department (although they are still close)

360's graphics might be better at this point in time but people are still learning how to make "amazing" games for the ps3

its because the cell proccesser is new so as anything else it takes time to "grow" in a few months ps3 will have pretty much better everything or at least the same

You know, this is only making the PS3 look bad. If the 360's line-up was superior to the PS3's, shouldn't it have wiped the floor with it? Yes, it should have. So why did the PS3 (supposedly) win then? One reason would be brand name; uneducated gamers assume that Playstation is the best, meanwhile they have no idea what the other consoles have to offer. The second reason would be because it is a cheap Blu-Ray player. I heard somewhere yesterday that most people who are buying PS3's are middle-aged men who don't want to spend full price on a Blu-Ray player. To summarize, it is obvious that the PS3 is only being purchased because of brand name and because it is a cheap Blu-Ray player. Don't even deny it.

Not pathetic when you realize Bioshock, Mass Effect, and the biggest game in the industry was released Halo 3 all in one year and the system still got out sold.
