It's never a good idea to have to look away from the screen and down at the controller.

Chat pad? You mean what people use mics for? Bread_or_Decide
Yeah, I thought the controller had a mic on it.

I hope Nintendo and 3rd party devs come up with more than a chat pad or a map. A big map can be achieved on the other consoles by pressing the start/select button, Which would take the same amount of time as looking down at the controller. Chat will be OK for typing messages but for in game you will ideally want to use the microphone which it has. I am more interested in the use of the cameras allowing you to look around corners or using like the xray vision in batman by holding the controller up to the screen. The touch screen could certainly help with inventory though. I thought devs did a poor job with the wii mote for the most part including Nintendo, it was only a handful of games and the pointer in FPS games that really made decent use of the wiimote, so it will be interesting to see if they do a better job this time.

september 9th 1999 is when nintendo64 died and all the hardcore gamers moved to sega dreamcast. nintendo no longer had the most powerful console so they just turned n64 into a casual gamer's console, after dreamcast launched. And there's the last time nintendo was relevant.

Doesnt matter if rare made these game's nintendo was supporting them giving them money to make these hardcore games :(

nintendo ended up delaying ultra64 to 1996 i think manufacturing issues and renamed it too nintendo64.

big difference between nintendo and microsoft owning rare. nintendo funded rare to create alot of hardcore games for n64. microsoft will not fund rare to create hardcore game's for xbox360.

It would be cool to use the Wii U controller as a Pip Boy now that I think about it. Don't know if it will "make games easier to play", but it would help games feel more immersive.

I feel once the PS4 and Nextbox release with superior specs, the third party devs will switch their focus leaving the Wii U with the scraps, much like the Wii but to a lesser extent.

I won't be buying one for a long time, that's for sure.

-Snooze-
True that. WiiU is saving Nintendo's ass because they can't develop a new gimmick console yet to release and compete with the superior Nextbox and PS4.
