ANYONE can take the worst screenshot of a game they can find. Halo 3 didn't ahve the best visuals ever, but they're nowhere NEAR as bad as you cosntantly rant and rave they are.

So, it's a 360, Wii, PC competition. However, GOTY this year proves once again its great to be a pc gamer.

they're usually on par with gamerankings... besides you cannot tell me with a strait face that mass effect should AT LEAST be considered goty after it won over 30 best in shows... yeah over 30.

PC with Crysis, World in Conflict and the best version of the Orange Box.

Wii with Super Mario Galaxy.

None of the other consoles have anything that can even compete and Crysis has made Halo obselete, while COD4 (which is best on PC) has made Halo 3's unbalanced multiplayer obselete too, so that'll be the only 9.5 that has no chance of GOTY whatsoever.

Crysis might take it, no WAY World in Conflict will though.

Orange Box should win GOTY but I don't think that constitutes a "PC win" since it is a multiplat game.

SMG has the best shot next to the Orange Box, imo.

Halo 3 is a victim of it's own success. Now that the hype has died down, people are realizing that it isn't God's gift to gamers. Halo was originally "teh ****" because it was all there was on consoles offering a proper console MP experience. Now the landscape has changed. People played Halo 2 for years, but don't expect those same people to keep playing 3 for years. They realize there is COD4 out there. Team Fortress 2 out there. Better games on the way. The market is more competitive, and Halo just offers more of the same. Nothing wrong with that, but it's going to get stale when the landscape is constantly changing around them.

EDIT: And when ME finally drops it may be the most obvious choice for GOTY. It wasn't mentioned in the TC's post so I didn't mention it myself, but ME looks astonishing.

I'm in Illinois also with a Kmart sorta down the street and had no luck getting it. However the reports are all over the net of Kmart break the street date. People all over this forum alone have Mass Effect in their Gamer Tag's played list.

I used to live in chicago and got used to having 10+ stores within 5 miles that got the games on release day. Now I usually get the game before the stores around here just by buying from Amazon.com w/ standard ground shipping lol.

jade empire was a great game and it got a great score. its downfall was that it was way too short and there weren't many side quests at all.

gameplay still got an 8-10 so it wasn't that bad.

After playing through Crysis, all I can say is that the game stands on it's own when it comes to Single player, much moreso than Halo 3 can say. If you take away Halo 3 mulitplayer, the game is subpar at best, as far as shooters go. With RPG's, Mass Effect looks gorgeous, but it's a shooter with confirmed AI issues, and for an RPG it's extremely short. Bioware isn't the same company they used to be in the days of Baldur's Gate, which is still unmatched from them to this day.

It's a tuff one this year, I enjoyed a lot of titles across all platforms, but I must say, HL2 Ep2 was the most fun I had in a single player game this year, and UT3 will probably be my most favorite multiplayer shooter of the year as well. When it comes to RPG's, The Witcher is amazing, and unless Mass Effect blows me away, that's got my current vote as well. The PC definately has a strong lineup though, moreso than the 360 imo.

Mass Effect looks awsome, but with only a 10-15 Hour Single Player...it might fall a bit short on that side of things...

Anyway, who really cares about what wins GOTY this year, their's just WAY to many superb games being released this holliday season.
