What I like about their reviews is that they're honestly blunt. If a game is bad, they say so. Sure they may be a lemming infestation there, but its OK as long as they shut up about ME

1up sucks. Gamespot is the best gaming site on the web period. No other site has as good of a forum setup, site features than Gamespot.

I think you have gotten caught up in a 1up PR/Marketing stunt. 1up are notorious for their bias and poor reviews. 1up=EGM These guys at 1up know that a lot of peopl will leave gamespot so they setup a nice little PR stunt to make everyone think they are non-bias and support gamespot. This is a joke.

Garbage. Look through their stunt. Do you 'really' think they give a care about the guy who got fired at GS? There are adverts galore at 1up. The same thing happens there.

1up has an obvious bias against PS3. It is readily apparent in the 1up preview of UT3 on PS3 when Mark Rein made a special trip to their officies to show them UT3. If you watch closely at what the woman says, you'll know why I say what I say. Her comments were along the lines of the PS3 version graphics and performance being equivalient to UT3 on a low end PC. LMAO, nothing could be further from the truth. She also said that UT3 wouldn't make her go out and buy a PS3 but rather it would make her want to go out and buy a PC!. So stupid and SO BIAS. What a JOKE.

But yah, if you like 1up then that's good for you :)

I don't like 1up at all. I think IGN is better than 1up by miles.

No it doesnt ruin any of Gamespot's credibility, I still have the same feelings I have always had towards the site. But then again I dont take game reviews seriously anyways.

But ya welcome to coporate america buddy people pay for stuff even if it's not true it happens everyday. I wouldnt be suprised if it it happened before but we just didnt know about it.

I've canceled my subscription and will definatly be moving to IGN or 1up. I love the community at gamespot, but the firing of Jeff has changed things. I must stand up for what I think is right.spidey008

Face the facts, they are probably the most corruputed with review scores (even more than GS). IGN is so much better.Nintendo_Man

Problem with IGN is that their scores are a bit inflated and too close to each other. I mean look at these scores: CoD4, 9.4, Crysis, 9.4, Halo 3, 9.5, The Orange Box, 9.5, BioShock, 9.7, SMG, 9.7. Not too much room to maneuver.

-Kane and Lynch is awesome. Haven't played it yet, but GOTY for sure.

Guess what. Any news website or magazine gets ads from people they cover. You think Motor Trend doesn't run car ads? Entertainment Weekly doesn't have ads for movies? Basically all media today is ad-supported, including informative journalism such as a game enthusiast website.

There is always pressure from advertisers in any industry, but this sort of thing doesn't happen all the time on every site, because if it did, people all through the industry wouldn't care that much.
