[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="edo-tensei"] it did for me, again, how does it suck?edo-tensei
It doesn't. But you must understand, it's all very subjective. That it was a good game is indisputable. That it was not perfect and lacked layers of polish is also indisputable. This is fact. However, how a person reacts to said game is completely personal. Quite a few people seem to have disliked Uncharted. Then there are people like you who loved it. Me, personally, I found it to be a nice fun game, but nothing really extraordinary. In fact, and this is only my opinion, the only reason I think it got the attention it did was because it was the first decent game coming to the PS3 after a drought. But again, this is all opinion. In this situation, I'd say we're all right. :)And that's all there is to say about it. It's not that it's a bad game. Reviewers never pointed out any major flaw to it other that the lack of miltiplayer(which shouldn't really be that much of a consideration). The problem as you said was because it came after a drought and hype was high. It's the sw effect. Same thing is happening to splinter cell conviction and alan wake, it's not that they're bad games it's just people's rediculous expectations.
To me this game was there in originality, gameplay, graphics, sound, animations, presentation, length(for the type of game it is),characte, and charisma. What more do people want for a game not to suck?
I also quoted him especifically becausehe overhypes games like lost oddyssey and crackdown which both scored lower than uc1 and now proceeds to say it sucks, makes no sense to me.
Okay, fair enough. :) It's something I've very often observed. Like look at Twilight Princess: by no means a bad game, but the backlash is icredible. MGS4? Same. GTA4? Same. There are some games that are victims of their own expectations. As for me, I wasn't expecting much from UC much anyway (since I didn't exactly dig any of ND's previous works), so I was pleasantly surprised. And then, of course, there was UC2... now THAT is a game I'd gladly pay $60+ to play.
